    This was great. The lie is so important in terms of getting a good shot off. Thank you.

    Hi Jonathan, I've been watching your videos for a while now and believe you're the best instructor out there. You've helped my game immensely. This video is precise, technical, and you explain your reasoning very well with no click bait. I was wondering if you could do an updated lesson on the short game? It's the most important part of golf especially for beginners. I'm hoping to see your teachings on pitching, chipping, and putting techniques and management. Thank you!

      I will definitely do some more short game videos. There is very limited access to short game facilities in Singapore but I will do my best!

    my most hated lie is when it is down the slope and above my feet. I always just want to take an unplayable each time.

      haha if you see a combined lie, then you just combine the adjustments described in the video

    Kim, thank you very much. Very nice of you to respond and make the video 👍
    It would be interesting if incorporated it with one of your course videos you make as a second part.
    Great 🏌️

    My courses in Scotland are built on a hill, and the lie I struggle with the most is the uphill. I really struggle to get that weight on my left foot but keep my shoulders parallel with the ground and follow through without falling back. 7 out of 10 of these shots I'll top it, especially on the par 5 uphills where I need the 3 wood off the fairway. How can you keep that weight on the left foot but the shoulders parallel with the ground? Bearing in mind, my hills are steeper that your lie in your studio... Great video, found you through golffix, Subbed!

      Well it is difficult to shift 100% of your weight to the lead side when hitting up the slope but when you just don’t want to be falling back as you come in to impact

    Awesome video and super helpful as always! Could you perhaps do another video focused on different lies? Perhaps reading lies? And the various turf interactions that affect your swing and how to correct your swing to account for the lie?

    My name is CJ. I developed the Interlink golf system. I have watched your videos, and most of the time, your advice is solid. In my experience, it is best not to change the swing of the golfer but rather the ball position. For example, downhill lie. Align your shoulders level or better said your normal stance, put the ball in your stance where the club first hits the grass. The angle of the earth has changed where the club will meet the ground.
    It's, in my opinion, the reason most golf lessons fail. Changing a golfer's normal position only exacerbates the difficulty of the shot.
    Check out my down hill lie on UA-cam under Interlink golf system. See if you agree or leave your comments.

      I retired a long time ago that's why there is no link. I have often thought about bringing back the IGS to open up the minds of golfers that have been indoctrinated in the same old golf methodology. @@beckyhenkel7917

    When ball is in an uphill lie & you move the ball forward, should you grip down on the club shortening it?

    • @JKMGolf
      @JKMGolf  6 місяців тому +1

      there is no need to grip down on the club. That would suggest you are leaning too much into the hill and not enough with the hill

    Should you have a shorter backswing when hitting off a slope

    • @JKMGolf
      @JKMGolf  6 місяців тому

      Not really no

  • @TrEuDaT

    you addressed taking more or less club when the ball is on an incline/decline. 2:35 when the ball is above your feet, you suggest choking up on the club. I assume this will result in a shorter shot, yes?

    • @JKMGolf
      @JKMGolf  6 місяців тому +1

      depends on the severity of the slope, if it very above your feet to where you need to choke up very far down on the grip then yes it can affect the distance

  • @onlychangeiscertain
    @onlychangeiscertain 6 місяців тому

    So except for hitting from a down slope you should always use a lower grip. Right?
