No sane Rally driver would get a 360, if they want a Volvo they get a 240 or 940. Also there is in no way a lack of working Volvo engines in Sweden, I personally have 6 of them in my garage. Those things are almost indestructible if serviced somewhat correctly. My old car ran for 500k km, the engine was working perfectly still. The market value for what engine would probably be somewhere below 50$/500kr.
+MrEmCom the thing with them in sweden is the chassi. NOT the classic red block engine. if it would'nt be broke then i should buy it. i bought a B20 engine for 50 000 "kr" from sweden har been in a 360 and it had moved 56xxx swedish miles. ita stil runs good but now i gonna rebuild it and get some more power. it will be great in my mercedes. stop killing these engines and sell it to me please. my mail is Mercadisel123@gmail.com hit me up for selling it to me next time!
I have four of them in my garage, and three more coming (Or go straight to the scrap bin). In Sweden they are basically worth the scrap value, but all of them runs well. From 740/940. I just use them for spare parts, that mainly being bolts. I threw 2 away last year. I would say the sale price for one (if you pick it up) usually is somewhere around 500-1000 kr without accessories.
thes cars were NOT made in Sweden but in Holland, originally designed as DAF77, But when Volvo took over the car division from DAF they renamed it 343. Later the big volvo engine was mounted and the car was named 360, as in difference to the cars with the renault engines which were called 340
I like how on these videos everyone is always like "WTF THAT WAS A PERFECTLY GOOD ENGINE! LOOK AT IT, IT STILL RAN FINE!" despite the fact that it would cost more than the engine to do anything with it.
+Lucas Peres Mustn't tell lies, bro. A simple example: a Volvo C70 1999 would set you back about R$ 30.000,00, which amounts to something like 7.5k dollars. A C70, whose numbers in Brazil may vary from 17 to 23, couldn't ever cost less than a 360. Would you be willing to stand your point?

being a car guy if there is absolutly no hope for a car blow it up for the fun of it.... thats an old car so by the looks of it its going to cost way too much to repair. i hate seeing people trash cars when the engine still runs if your going to do something like that blow the bitch up have a bit of fun plus its a good way to R.I.P the car.. great video man!
@ Connor McMahon ("front wheel drive i'd kill it too") Actually these were rear wheel drive & IIRC had a rear transaxle too. Did the longitudinal engine mounting not give it away? :) Shame it had to die but die it did, think it had a slight rod knock after that... Knocking on the ground.
lol everyone freaking out over this is kinda funny. theyre the ones that invested in it, they choose what happens to it. even if there are only 2 of that specific car in the world, or its worth millions of dollars. on top of that, it looks like it was wrecked pretty badly.
There's nothing else to do with this thing! The car was totally destroyed and you can hear that the engine has problems even at the start. Well done! =D
job well done! i suppose it was going to be crushed anyway so its better to have some fun and kill it this way. but didn't your neighbors call the cops for creating that kind of noise?
I have seen a jeep with a stuck throttle cable and wasn't turned off. and it ran for a good 10min (I said "just go to sleep" in my head) and it had clanking knocking smoking and a stall. gave it a gallon of gas and 20 min, it fired right up.
my buddy had a 850 turbo he did this only on accident. he went to drain the trans, but accidentally drained the oil, then over filled the trans, then drove it for a mile or so, realized his mistake, and filled the engine oil. i didnt kill the engine right away, but it died a week a week or so later. prob the single greatest mistake ive ever seen
Well kids i'm a Peugeot fan.I got a 405 and i love her. But i remember a long time ago my dad got a Volvo 740. I think the old Volvos are the most indestructible cars. The 740 weight was 1950 kg.Exactly. And the V6 petrol engine so pushed her!!!!
I did this to my 16 HP craftsmen lawn tractor bit I wasn't that bad of damage compared to a car engine like this one. I still wonder why they make engines go that fast even though the engine cant handle it.
***** Argh ok , Volvo 2 litre , a friend of mine bought a 360 ,many years ago , he paid stupid money for it at an auction and run it down to the ground but it was quite a good runner though I only had a 1.1 Ford Fiesta at the time, the Volvo felt like a beast .😉
First you're telling me that I'm repeating myself and then after that you're doing the exact same thing as you have done in all your others posts. Good job, you might as well think before you write.
Yea, you're right MrEmCom, this guy isn't worth arguing with since he's correcting my shortenings, I mean c'mon, come up with something better than that. Oh, now it's time to correct: ''C'mon''... Ye I think you see my point here... Good night
Why so complicated? Two pounds of sugar with just enough petrol and previously warmed up engine will produce a compact candy machine when the melted sugar cools off, won't be able to even open up the motor....
Ähh. It´s only a Volvo, There is still tons of them out there. And you may even get an standard 200K engine for free if you search enough. I have done the same to an old B21A engine.
A couple of village yahoos destroy a car for no reason... So, what else is wrong here is - why ECU does not shut motor off in case of overheating? That would make sense.
Kids in Africa could've ate that Volvo!
+VarietyBrothers No laughs.
+VarietyBrothers made my day xD
+The Destroyer u rrrrassiic
why are you making fun of Africans. do u think it's funny.. huh dude
@@edrissasinghateh3496 it's funny 😄 dark humor
If the clutch breaks down is it always a great idea to destroy a working motor, instead of donating it to some other rally driver?
You don't understand the thing about those cars here in Sweden...

the cars are made in holland, but the engine is not ;) Sweet swe engine :)
Yep, the Renault motors (1.4 & 1.7) did not have Volvo on the rocker cover, & I don't think the the 360 ever had any less than the 1.7...
What happens if you replace the cooling aid with bull piss, and replace the engine oil with cod liver oil?
I like how on these videos everyone is always like "WTF THAT WAS A PERFECTLY GOOD ENGINE! LOOK AT IT, IT STILL RAN FINE!" despite the fact that it would cost more than the engine to do anything with it.
You have no idea how expensive are these parts in Brazil. One of these old can cost almost 25.000$
That's almost makes me want to start exporting old Volvos to to Brazil
I think you can export only parts. Less headaches with customs...

is there stuck a connecting rod in the grass at 2:31 ???? :O
Holy shit, it is!! I haven't seen that before 😂
No no no that means its working...well was working

There's nothing else to do with this thing! The car was totally destroyed and you can hear that the engine has problems even at the start. Well done! =D
in sweden people almost throw these engines after you, i got a a 740 16valve 160WHP with addon bodykitt for free
Had a small heart attack at 1:57 poor engine probably could have rebuilt it and driven it for another 100,000 m
+Metal Muscle The frame is probably unstable from rust.

Come On Volvos Are Nice Cars Why Didnt you Sell Or Donate the engine??
Mr.Hardscope I agree I don’t like Volvo’s.
LeafxD its sweden. You learn from a young age how to kill a volvo. You are not considered a swed if you never rolled or killed a volvo
var det en stempelarm som sto i bakken under motoren ?
I know the car was dead, but why wasn't the engine removed and reused?
I did this to my 16 HP craftsmen lawn tractor bit I wasn't that bad of damage compared to a car engine like this one. I still wonder why they make engines go that fast even though the engine cant handle it.
sounds just like a lawnmower at 1:45. amusing to watch it still pushing on after losing a rod or two
😍🤩! Very well done 👍!
2:12, that's when Satan escaped.
lmfao....idk why its so funny to me, but that very last falme * poof * at the end, out of all the new holes in the block made me laugh pretty good
I dont think the rod at 2:31 will grod into a rod plant
This Vovol is oozing! Going HAM!

Weren't they Renault engines ? In them 340 /60
Mark C 1.4 and 1.7 in the 340 yes. But 2.0 Volvo engine in the 360

Why Why Why do people have such a downer on Volvo when all they are trying to do is make cars safer.
WooWHEE! Makin' bacon! (With the motor)
Patricia Florence that tf2 reference lol
There are not many 360 models left... So it's kinda sad, that you destroying it!
1:15 was that a thunderstorm
im sure a little lucas oil additive could fix it

I love this shit!! I help destroy an old trans am, and people went NUTS I had to disable the comments..lol..
draining the oil is kinda the only thing that really break these engines
Not true! Usually, they just stop when the pistons expanding due to overheating. This was quite extraordinary.
Best way to recycle a vehicle that's been in a fender bender and you've got lots of time and money on your hands

Vare b19a motorn i den här?
shit, did that throw a rod out through the sump?
You did it again.
Hva faen er vitsen med å gjøre det!?
sounds like he is shifting :D
it recalled me Smoke on the water song
It was far from perfect, and you can get a new engine for like $20.
2:12 flames :D
So my car broke down. What do ya suppose the problem is? Could be the hole in the side of the engine block? Naa.
Nah mate its prop the rod on the ground lol
DAME.. I hate watching good running engines go to waste!!!
But that's not a good engine...
varför tog ni bort oljan? då gick det ju för fort:)
this is my friend in school and he is making all kinds of noises trying to hold in a little fart and as soon as class is over this describes it!!!!
What is wrong with front wheel drive?
3:05 ._____. Not supposed to be outside of the block. Just sayin.
все-равно мотор на совесть сделан, долго умирать не хотел
Waste of money and waste of Volvo.
The car looked banged up as is but you could seriously get a good coin for the engine.
Not in Sweden you cant.
MrEmCom Depends on what engine it is, but seriously that's like 1000 SEK, not implying it's much but alot more than nothing.
Hay can you have a car and engine crushed down to a block of metal while the engine is running full speed
2:23 nice man kan se ett glödande lager genom hålet i tråget! :D
lol id buy a car for 60 dollars just to fuck with it
You know its time for a new engine when: the connecting rod falls out.
Why so complicated? Two pounds of sugar with just enough petrol and previously warmed up engine will produce a compact candy machine when the melted sugar cools off, won't be able to even open up the motor....
у нас бы этот мотор ещё пару сотен проходил! на другой машине
I wish I lived in Sweden I love Volvo I own a s70 t5 98 but it needs of some major repairs bad past owners

No
they weren't bad cars what did do to deserve that? bombproof renault engines
its true, i got 2 240 engines that have only gone 25 000 kilometers each, and i paid only 100 $

A couple of village yahoos destroy a car for no reason...

Lame fucker to think that Volvo's 360 were built in Sweden, they were actually part designed/produced in The Netherlands.
