I had this cassette. In my car at 16, volume turned up to +10, windows down, car full of friends and we'd ride. No problems. No worries. The best days of my life. Long live the 80's!!!!
So another words everybody listened to it whether they wanted to or not. 😀😀😀👍👍👍 Remember when Pyromania came out, I thought I was going to lose my mind, or Scorpions Love at First Sting.
The same experiences and the same feeling ... the 80s a very beautiful and unrepeatable decade!
Love the 80s wish I could go back
Yup. But the windows were up.
Totally agree! Take me Back!!!!
Can't beat the 80's. The world has gone crazy since then.
You've got that right!
Exactly!
I agree with you friend.
Born in the 60’s and it’s gone

A perfect hair metal song.
So. I had an older sister. She passed in 92' at the age of 18. This was one of her favorite songs growing up. So many memories. Her 49th birthday was on February 10th 2023. It came and went, and all I could remember was this song for some fucking reason. Since her death. I haven't thought about it since we were teens/pre teens. Yet I shared it out of the blue with my 19 y/o son today and he said "It sounds so familiar. I've never heard it before but it is so familiar ". I rarely share songs from those times with him. Yet he seeks them out. Name all the majors and he knows them. Word for word. Note for note, lyrics and all. I'm not sure where I'm going with this. All I know is he would have loved to know his aunt who died when I was younger than him just based on the music we grew up with. "Dad. I wish I grew up then to experience the music". I literally felt the same way about my parents music of the 60's and said so.
Sorry for your loss
That's a beautiful story...same for my kids..I was born in 73
When my son was born, I would sit in an office chair, lean back and play songs from Texas Flood (SRV) to get him to sleep.
When he was 10, he would go into my computer and raid my music. His friends thought he was crazy for listening to, SRV, LIGHTNING HOPKINS, RUSH, WHITE LION , NIRVANA, ZEPPELIN.
He recently saw Eric Johnson in a music store in San Antonio, then went out to see him that night.
He loves that music as much or more than I do.
When Jeff Beck died he started learning Beck's songs on guitar.
He always thanks me for the music I introduced him to.
real love
Very touching story. Thanks for sharing!
Who else besides me misses the 80's
Or at least misses being 16 :)
Candy bars were 45 cents, concerts were $5 maybe $10 at most. Women in Spanex mini skirts not all tattoo'd and no nose rings. New cars were less than $8000. Great concerts every weekend from talented fun bands. Such a great time for rock n roll. You didn't have 300 lb fat people in combat boots trying to crowd surf on you while you watched the show and actually sang with the band while they played. People owned the albums and knew every song.
Meee❤
@amyfrink6524 I did this karaoke recently the crowd loved it go figure....we can tell you have great taste Amy

This Epic Song Reminds of a Lady I met in College. It took Me 6 Months to ask Her out. So finally on the last day of School, I finally did. We had Lunch and I gave Her one of My Photos. I was so nervous I forgot to ask her for her contact information. As I was driving Home, this dawned on Me. So, I turned around and went back to the Library on Campus where She worked. The Librarian said She was gone for the Semester, and They could not give Me Her information. It was a sad drive Home. I thought I had lost Her for good! Two weeks later as I was signing up for Summer Classes, She showed up! I told Her I was sorry I did not even know Her Last name, and I felt bad because I did not get her contact information. 30 Years later We are Happily Married! Still love this Song!!
Congratulations 🎊
This is officially my favorite love story, congrats mate!!

The world was going round and round back then
Vito Bratta is so amazing, it is criminal how underrated Vito Bratta is as a guitar player 🎸❤️✝️🇮🇹🇺🇲
Indeed. I was thinking the same thing. He gives Mr Van Halen a run for his money no doubt.
Vito is awesome
Vito should be on the VH tribute tour not satch. No training necessary for Vito.
I agree with you, very underrated. Love his tone.
He played westone guitars. Amazing.
Vito Bratta is one of the best guitarist of his generation. Melodic and clean. Amazing! So underrated.
I don't know about best, do you know how many guitarist were in the 80's? A fuqing lot. Vito is good, but at the end of the day, white lion was a 1 hit wonder band. Not gonna say Vito wasn't good. He is good. But I guess your trying to lick knowledge, but that's OK.
@@paulieramos They were not a one hit wonder band. And ;yes, vito was one of the best guitarist during that time. you will find other guitar players of that time listing him as one of the best...on cover of guitar world twice.
he was so good and respected that every guitarist that mike tramp tried to get to reform the band again refused to play vitos playing.
better yet, the guy saved his money, did not spend foolishly and knew when to get out, when the party was over. meaning when the Seattle bands took over
One of the better EVH clones..no doubt!
@@thomaskemer8109 Vito was never an Eddie lone. Not even close.
The way he played not even close
Solo on wait is a good example. There was 1000s of guitarists trying to tap like Eddie....Vito was not one of them.
Rock on brother
That solo probably is the happiest solo I've ever heard.
Amazing player. Seriously talented.
Exhuberant, ecstatic, triumphant!!!
Amazing song!
He can rip it! 😎🎸
When the children cry is the best solo from these ruin stones
Yeah, it’s like the frickin Disneyland electrical parade. 👍🏼
I was in high school when this came out !! I’m 51 years old and still love it !!
Me too!!
Right here with you. I just hit the Big 50.
The guy was/is awesome. More important is he did not spend his money on drugs. Instead he saved and when it was time to end, we walked away with that money.
The Seattle bands changed the landscape in early 90s and Vito had the brains and money to know that his time was over. Good for him. It's a shame the lead singer tramp wasn't as fiscally responsible.
I'm 52, I'm more of thrash metal head these days, stuff like this does brings me back to a simpler time in life
Me too, class of 89
Is this one of the great solos in rock history?
Absolutely
Yes. This one, Kee Marcello's "Superstitious" solo, and Marty Freidman's "Tornado of Souls" solo cannot be beaten.
From big hair to low ridin hair, this music rocked a great generation. Was glad to be a part of an awesome music era. Big drums, big hair huge sound.
And chics with tight jeans.
I miss the 80's. What a great time to come up.
The best!!
When bands had rehearsal and produced excellent music, today's music will never come close to these pioneers, nuff said
It was zge best time to be a kid and teenager
Better than this messed up covid world we have now.
We had it really good back then huh. Spoiled for choice.
We may not be able to go back physically but in my mind these bands take right back to when I was a kid.
2:15 ... One of the best guitar solos (within a song) of all time begins. Vito Bratta kills it.
YES! "Lightning In A Bottle", as I like to call it. 🙌
I feel so sad for Vito. One day he will wake up and realize it's too late. :(
Definitely!!! 😊
Amazing guitar player, very underrated.
Thanks. Never paid attention to that specifically. Little Fighter is a stand alone to me.
This is quite possibly the best guitar solo in the entire 80s. Vito killed that solo.
I was just thinking the same thing. I remember when this video came out. Vito was great.
It’s incredible!
Great solo but Eddie whaled on pretty much every VH song in the 80's. He's king
@@cantrell0817bro, ease off EVH. Lol everyone compares. Vito was an entirely different player and unique. Nuno was a beast and better than either of them and can play better today than back in the 80s.
@@nickmenza2671I think Vito would have been there with Nuno if he had kept playing, he was better back then already. He just needed a better band to showcase himself
I am 34 years old and up until 2 years ago I had never heard this song in my life. Now I’ve listened to it - no exaggeration - a hundred or more times. So awesome!!
Welcome to my teenage years! White Lion....pure joy!!
Welcome to the 80's

Yeah we had lots of great music in the 70s,80s,90s. Before grunge and crap that came after.

Welcome to the party pal!
That solo gives me goosebumps.
Amazing guitar solo...
This and Little Fighter were epic solos.
Try the solo from Love don't come easy....beats this one hands down
Yeah its a good solo pulling heavily from Eddie but who wasn't back then. It has enough originality to say it's a great solo for sure.
Quick - instead of simply stating you like this song, everybody write how underrated White Lion was.
Soooo underrated. So talented.
I was born in 1970, and this always takes me back to my youth, even as we're about to enter 2025. It's a ritual I do every year, listening to '80s hard rock and metal to say goodbye to the year. So much life, so many concerts behind me... and I still get as excited as I used to!
👍
Love these dayzzz
I hear ya. Great music, young at heart, full of hope, and a full head of hair. I miss it all, especially my hair.

Yes, I was 13 teen and I had a Sanyo Walkman! ❤
One of the most underrated bands of all time. Listening in 2024.
I agree with you
Vito never got the credit he deserved. Forever the best after EVH if not better
He didn't want it. He just wanted to play "rock star" for a while, had his fun, and then quit while refusing to let the band continue without him to where Mike spent three decades fighting with him just to be able to play the songs.
The 80s years were da bomb! So glad I grew up during the 1980s!

This takes me back to 1988 to the girl that got away. Long live the 80's.

53 here and damn skippy. Turn it up!
Love it baby.
Same except i'm 51 and extremely sad!!!
Man I miss those hair band days and this is still one of my favorite songs….Vito Bratta was an exceptional guitarist!
Yes and what a phenomenal guitar job on this album!!!
Duh
Yes same here I also miss my hair being that long, such fun times growing up back then. We really were blessed to have experienced those days 🤔
Bratta was the absolute master of mixing the Van Halen guitar techniques with his own unique brew of melody and attack. The results were spectacular - on the first 2 albums at least. He's to be commended for choosing family over fame, but the rest of us were truly robbed of an amazing talent in the process. Pride will always be one of the greatest albums to emerge from the 80's.
Speak words of love ,,, maybe
Vito was absolutely a guitar hero and a composer as well
I 💯% agree w/ that statement.
I love every song. Mane Attraction was good, but Pride is my favorite.
The best part is Vito nailed that solo in the studio on his first take! No need to mess with perfection.
While they were tracking drums. He didn't even realize he was doing a take.
@@michaelharrington75 isn’t that amazing
😀 🤘🏻
Yes but remember he wanted to redo cuz he felt he could improve on it but the producer refused n would not budge n demanded he leave it as is.
So there are some notes that are sightly off beat in the solo and other small mistakes, but number 1, none of us could replicate such a solo, and number 2, it was those small mistakes that made the solo sound so unique to the ear to begin with. The producer absolutely made the correct choice.
💖
A wonderful and carefree time. Summer, long hair, first love, and the best music ever. I wish I could go back in time...
Good music like this don't really exist

It's got it all !
Don't forget James' bass holding the groove in the pocket and Mike's glorious voice & looks fronting the band!!
12 string is awesome
That 12-string intro and outro is what I love the most about it...Vito was an incredibly talented guitar player, with skills in a acoustic playing, flat picking, fingerstyle playing, as was seen in the song, "When the children cry," and can't forget about his lead electric guitar playing....too bad this band met the end it did.
Kickass song takes you back in time
I was born in 1985. I can't believe that I've never heard of White Lion. Of course my music growing up was bands like Soundgarden & AIC. The grunge scene. I never was a huge fan of 80s hair metal. The musicians in this group are very talented though.

I’m 21 now and I’ve been rockin to hair bands my whole life thanks to my dad 🤘🏻
These were the days!
Imagine Cando, North Dakota around 1989. I’m in my early 20s and somebody way up there had put this in a jukebox. I believe Lady of the Valley was the flipside. My partner in garage door repair and I would once a month spend a week tour up north from our big city of Grand Forks North Dakota. Fix farmers garage doors. One night we were in a bar in Cando, this was back when we were all friends and companions in this country of ours. No matter what party. We crank this and everybody from the big city( us) To a bunch of the farm boys from around we’re singing at the top of our lungs and having the time of our lives. Those days will never happen again. So blessed to have been alive in those days.

Mann. 70's and 80's had the best music back then.,. Miss those days
I had the opportunity to see Mike Tramp's White Lion in San Antonio, Texas 10/17/24. Magnificent performance. It was great seeing him play the Rhythm guitar. His vocals were on point. Marcus Nand on lead guitar was incredible. Jerry, on the bass, really held the Rhythm section. I didn't have the opportunity to meet the drummer. But he was indeed fabulous on the drums. Killer show! I'll definitely attend their next Texas tour. ❤
The 80's... The greatest decade I can't remember!
I don't believe that ..

Vito Bratta is such a huge influence on me as a guitarist. The man is a giant.
This might be random but am I the only that gets fall and winter vibes with White Lions songs? They always give of this super cool feeling, of being alone, cold as if I’m skiing through a slope. Idk if it’s just me anyone else?

@@metalrockstarizer89 No, you're not the only one. Autumn of '88 I was really into White Lion, these songs take me right back there.
White Lion had opened for Stryper in Knoxville in late October '88 so I got tickets to see Stryper in Charlotte in November hoping to see White Lion too, sadly Hurricane was the opener, one of the biggest disappointments for me concert-wise. Never got to see them live......
What a time to be alive it was.

Best decade of music forever is the 80's!!
I miss the 80s so much. Those were some of the happiest and most carefree days of my life.
I agree 110%!!!
You could wake up to this on top 40 radio stations back then, when popular bands had real talent.
that's not even remotely true. there are bands today that have a lot of talent but times have changed and people need to change with the times. simple as that. top 40 radio today is not even a thing. there is no more top 40 anything. and that's ok. it is called evolution. just like rock radio in the 80's evolved from corny rock to the 80's rock here. from 86-89, these are the type of songs that were hit songs. of course these songs would not be hits today because times changed. and that's perfectly ok
First CD I ever bought
