I'm blessed ! What an era for a teenager. All genre were blending without elitism, from early Bon Jovi, Def Leppard to Venom, Led Zeppelin to Anthrax, Saga to Heart back to some Destruction, Yes, Asia, Rush, Alan Parsons Project, Scorpions sprinkled with a bit of pop with Prince, Jackson, Movies' Soundtrack and with the remaining of Disco, Synth taking huge place, New Wave coming, Punk's Not Dead, the musical range was just wide open and cohabitating pretty well. Ages of naivety, innocence, playful, lots of social interactions, physical contacts and great parties. I'm pretty proud of what my tribe and myself had become. One lesson I brought this song in to learn, but that opening Dropped D riff and unusual chord inversions had this blues veteran completely stumped. (And with newfound respect for Warren DeMartini). well within the "hair metal" category were some cheesy type pop bands like poison or white lion " not kocking em" but also bands considered "hair metal" were a lot better and not cheesy at all...like ratt or dokken which wrote super good songs nothing cheesy about them, early motley crue was kinda heavy first 2 albums, queensryche might be in the hair metal category but wasn't even close to being cheesy or pop so within the hair metal genre was some diversity, some of it was kinda cheesy but not ratt or bands like great white, dokken..thats my take.

Being young adults in the 90's was great too. Carpe Diem !
Take me back to the '80's please😎
Back to when MTV was great and not reality tv shows
same thing happened with Muchmusic here in Canada, Travis
Would you prefer capitalist or a communist country?
Yes please take me back to the 80's. Sooooo much better back then and everyone didn't turn everything political like they do now and this guy did in the comments. 80's was a hoot. If you invent a time machine, take me along please!!! Haha
Where’s our DeLorean?
Everyone thought I was crazy for listening to this stuff in high school (I graduated in 2006), but I think they were the crazy ones... Stuff still rocks in 2021!!! Keep rockin' Ratt!!!
I graduated in 08. It wasn’t long after graduation I started hearing “you’ve seen Alice Cooper in concert! You’ve seen Ratt?! You’ve seen KISS how many times??” Now I work with older guys who look at me and smile and say “oh man you know who W.A.S.P. Is?!?! I haven’t heard them in years!”
@@BrennanBarrier Who would have ever guessed it would have took Stranger Things/Cobra Kai to bring Metal back into the main stream, but hi I'm a huge fan of the shows and don't blame them for bringing back some of the most kick ass songs ever
@@BrennanBarrier qq
The "crazy" people is mayority actually than "normal" ones ....let's rock 🎶🤙🏻
Kids in high school that thought they were cool turned out to be the biggest dorks later in life.
Christ, that riff still gives me chills, its so good it almost makes me cry raft is the best band out there
Freakin' A Right! That riff and the tone on his guitar are the shite!
The opening riff is fine wine. Aged to perfection!!!
Riff beyond captivating and magical melody! Ratt at that time was sensational!
I remember taking guitar lessons with an instructor who had been playing for 30+ years. Older blues guy, who had been a session player. Specialized in SRV, Clapton, BB King, Hendrix type of styles. One lesson I brought this song in to learn, but that opening Dropped D riff and unusual chord inversions had this blues veteran completely stumped. (And with newfound respect for Warren DeMartini). I’ll never forget it.
Warren DeMartini was a savage on guitar! Made it look so easy
The Blues is pretty simplistic, so anything even slightly above that would seem difficult.
@@skybooboy whoa there guy, not simplistic just different and not as flashy as this.
i took guitar lessons with this guy larry and he was more of a blues and classic rock player he was so stumped when i asked for a ratt song lol
Yeah you asked for a rat song lol. Who needs a rat when ya got all that pie job. Can't back up a law book?? Guess I should go to bed now, I'm cranky and whiny and fed up too. Never helped a damn thing when I asked for it. Usually made shit worse and I'm sure it's the same thing now. Much respect but dammit I'm right and you ain't as far as I've seen first hand 👌. Still stuck in the past I guess. Seems normal to me.
By a million miles the number one Hair Metal band of the 80’s. Listen to the groove in this song. The beginning riff is one of the best. These guys could mop the floor with all the other bands in the 80’s. I sure do miss this music
Memories from the mid 80's!! Best decade ever in so many ways!!! Saw these guys in 1985 featuring this song!! Wish i could go back to that decade!! It was "Killer"!!
The opening riff is something I worked on getting right for awhile. I've been playing since I was 7 I'm 67 now still love these guys .
The blistering guitars and Bobby’s thunder! There will never be another Ratt!
Saw them on the “Invasion of Your Privacy” tour in ‘86. Absolutely incredible live band. Robbin Crosby, one of the most underrated guitarist ever! Ratt’s best album. Even better than “Out of the Cellar”. The 80’s were the best. I’m happy I experienced it.
That guitar tone is endlessly classic
It's a can't live without once u hear it. It's razor sharp with a Godzilla groove!
Modded Marshall JCM800s m'dude...its a classic for a reason
A freshman in high school, this album turned me on to hard rock and metal. My favorite song from the album. I wish I still had the original vinyl...
I’m only 24 and this is the type of music I grew up listening to. Love 80s rock and roll 🎸 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
One of the best opening riffs
I love the 80s, I love glam Metal, I love Heavy Metal, I love Thrash Metal, I´m a f@kin lucky man for living those days!! that intro riff always kills me, Warren is great among the greats!!!
We did have the best music
Motley Crue may have been the band of that era but RATT by far had the best hooks n arraignments of that time ,great band to this day
RATT is essential musical educational material that never gets old.
I don't care where you are out in the world. When you hear LAY it Down, start from the beginning. If you don't have a heartbeat, you ain't feeling that cause this is the strongest riff, they get your feet going. It's hot
I didn't just live the 80's , I was the 80's ! Seen RATT many times , once with Bon Jovi in Spfd , Mo , been to many other rock concerts, and will always be a hard rocker !!!!!!!
I was in high school/college during the mid to late 80s when all these hair bands popped up... there are too many to say, but there a few that I went to see in concert many times and RATT was one of them.... very good live!!
Lotta things getting laid down here Drum licks, killer riffs, and a slaying guitar solo amongst other things! True classic.
I think RATT is so underrated, this is fucking awesome! the opening riff is just amazing!
I love Ratt ❤️ my favorite songs are Lay It Down and Round and Round. I am a 76yr old who loves R N R. Great music ❤️ stay safe everyone and have a great day 😘
Hell ya grandma crank it! 😜
All right old dude, let's go! I thought I was gettin up therein age(64) but I realize I am a young pup. Am I war pup from Furiosa?
That riff is hurtling through space and will one day announce our existence to another civilization, which is nice
THAT is the guitar tone I want. Doesn't get much better.
Ratt n' roll!
Rat N Roll bitch 😠
Yeahhhhh
@@bilbobaggins4710 Koray is a male name in Turkish and there's no way he could be a bitch ffs...
That youtube translation is something else
It’s 2023 I’m 50 and still this song is fuckn awesome lol . Watched this video brand new on MTV
🤠👍 Same‼️Me too . High five 😊
Bring back the '80's,Now!!!!!! ❤ long live RATT
The greatest drop D riff of all time...
This and unchained
@@tristandrew5903Warren loved Eddie was one of his heros. Simply my two favorite guitarist of all time. That was a great ERA to be young. Mid 50's now where does the time go 😮😮😮😮. Peace......
I am 367 years old and still rock out to this
Just turned 745 and still rock on🤘🏻
The guitar / the tone / that growl.....so metal yet the slow tempo......well written
I've been a huge fan of rat since I first saw them in concert in 1984. And they can still cheer me up and raise my energy level no matter my mood no matter how I physically feel.
People hate on glam/hair metal so much but ngl, they had some talented musicians with the most memorable tracks from the 80s compared to today's music....and this is coming from someone who listens to thrash metal 🤘🏻
yea juan, bobby, warren, and robin were talented and actually were good musicians who could’ve done a lot more had they not been held back by a hack like stephen pearcy
well within the "hair metal" category were some cheesy type pop bands like poison or white lion " not kocking em" but also bands considered "hair metal" were a lot better and not cheesy at all...like ratt or dokken which wrote super good songs nothing cheesy about them, early motley crue was kinda heavy first 2 albums, queensryche might be in the hair metal category but wasn't even close to being cheesy or pop so within the hair metal genre was some diversity, some of it was kinda cheesy but not ratt or bands like great white, dokken..thats my take.
80s!!! Come Back!!! Right Now!!!
I hear yeah!
Absolutely one of the most bad ass riffs in history
One of the very few albums that will always be in my collection and never sold ! First pressing and will be handed on to my son.
I'm 14 and This will always be the best music ever bring it back!!!
One of the best rock songs of all time, still on my favorite playlist.
Dam I ABSOLUTELY agree ! RATT STANDS OUT FROM ALL THE REST! PURE GENIUS!
EVERYTIME I hear that opening riff, I'm been taken to , THE GOLDEN AGE OF MY YOUNG LIFE!!
Opening riff is soooo good
