    ESP is god tier because every japanese guitarist gets a signature model from them
    the wacky designs are amazing

    • @HenryJonesVictor
      @HenryJonesVictor 3 роки тому +1

      @Cameron Putt Hahahaha holy shit I had never seen the "Pink Monster" (full pink) version of the Ohmura 7 string. Some of my favourites are Teru's Geki-Tetsu, Hizaki's Maiden, MiA's Rapier and all of those tacky as fuck angel designs they made for Toshihiko Takamizawa.
      I think you can buy some of the artist signatures from Rakuten Global, but the registration process is a bureaucratic mess, the guitars are expensive as hell, you can get slapped with some terrible import fees and I've even read about people who didn't get it delivered because the neck was made out of rosewood or some such bullshit.

    • @HenryJonesVictor
      @HenryJonesVictor 3 роки тому +9

      @Cameron Putt Holy fuck they just straight up made a thicc 8-string strat. It's amazing to see such a big company having the balls to make so many outlandish design decisions (in stark contrast to the boring as fuck USA signatures you mentioned). It's a shame Ibanez didn't do the same for the Tim Henson Signature 8-string, it would have looked cooler.
      Also, thanks for telling me about Zenmarket, didn't know about it. You're damn right about standing out, I haven't seen a single soul outside of Japan with one of the true signature models - only a few with the Edwards versions, which are about a quarter of the price (and maybe half the quality lmao)

      @Cameron Putt well, not exactly BAD bad, but every single ltd I've ever held in my hands felt very cheap and just... Wrong. Like they meant well but didn't know what they were doing. Just not good instruments at all.
      Even the more expensive stuff with proper EMGs and good hardware, I don't know... Just not my taste. But yeah, I'm specifically talking aboht Ltd here. Any instrument from the Japanese ESP factory I've held was a masterpiece.

I've been playing with distortion by default for so long, and then I get this amp and fall in love with how strong of a clean sound it makes as well as the big funky fuzz you can get naturally with it. • @jensvide777
    @jensvide777 3 роки тому +7

    Another good thing about the TS is that you can get a more mid-heavy distortion from your amps by using only the tone and level knobs. Boosting the mids and cutting the bass before the signal hits your amps and adjusting the gain on your amp makes it so you can get biting creamy mid distorion with more clean and less muddy bass since those frequencies don't go into distortion as much.

    I pretty much agree with everything you’ve said. I own a Line 6 Amp (Amplitude 150) but it’s excels at being mediocre. Jackson? I have an 87 Charvel 4 (I bought it in 1988) and a 1992 Jackson Fusion Pro bought in 1994, both of these guitars are still superior to what ever Jackson are churning out today. Gibson: I have a 2015 LP Studio, the one with the G-Force tuners that everyone else hates, but it is what it is, a no frills workhorse that gets the job done. Ibanez: My first was the RG440 Roadster II and I really wish I still had it, I have some newer Ibanez guitars but I still yearn for that 80’s RG440.

      To be fair though the early 90s MIJ Jackson Pro were basically equivalent to the USA made one both spec and quality wise, so the top end imports model were cut and only the entry level/mid ranged models were kept and integrated to keep the USA model as the top dog. The later MIJ stuffs were good with crap hardware because they were priced for the midrange, and the line was killed because they couldn't compete in price with ESP/Schecter Korean made stuffs with better stock hardware.
      The Indian line were rubbish and tainted the name for a good decade.
      The current Indonesian/Mexican, maybe I've been lucky but what I've played and owned has been pretty good. Small sample size, but my Indo X-series Soloist and Pro Series King V played as well as my MIJ Dinkies. They're a bit overpriced, especially when you compare them to the MIJ line, but they do have a few more premium features, and the MIJ were basically making no profit at that price so its sort of understandable.

    I'll say it everytime I hear anything about dean: design wise, i'll buy the shit out of a dean guitar if it wasn't for the v headstock. It's kinda of a blessing and a curse for dean, but anytime I see the headstock I think of dimebag, and as much as I love Pantera, I don't want to be thinking of dimebag when I see some dude playing blues with dean lol. As far as ESP, ESP Japan is like a whole other brand lol. They have some sick guitar that never make it out of Japan, and amazing line up of players

    just would like to make the point that I think Dean changed the way they make guitars around 2014 on all the expensive models, so post 2014 expensive deans are great, i have one and its the best playing guitar I own, and can get lower action than I've seen on pretty much any other guitar. and around 2018ish they really stepped up their cheaper guitar game. but their guitars are kinda hit and miss i wont lie. had a 300 dollar guitar from dean (lp style) that I to this day kick myself for selling, and ive had a 300 dollar V that was uninspiring. also a custom 550 that has to be the best guitar ive ever played.

  • @sebaalge6674
    @sebaalge6674 2 місяці тому

    Hi, guitar tech,
    to be fair, the big problem with ibanez FR-style bridges, is that people try to lower or rise it without removing tension, that will damage the blades, and the V-groove of the post where it sits, creating "steps" where the bridge will jam into, and not go back in tune after a dive.
    This happens mostly on low to mid end ibanez because the bridges used in those have softer metal.
    Is worth swaping it out with a brand new original replacement, and take care of it by always removing tension before any adjustment of the height, or upgrade to a different tremolo system, like a Gotoh.
    Bottom line, ibanez bridges are ass, but sometimes the user is too.

    Dream setup: 1 guitar, 1 amp, 1 Cabinet, 1 pedal! Line 6 USA JTV-89F, Line 6 Spider V Mk II 240w RMS Head (with 4 inch internal speakers at 40w RMS), Yamaha 2x12", Line 5 FBV3 floor controller. I have many others but my list above can literally do it all... Line 6 USA JTV-89F Guitar can be several different instruments including 12 string, Baritone, Sitar, Banjo, violin, piano, synthesizer, choir... anything you can download! Mk II Spider V amp can sound exactly like "all other" amps/cabs combinations and any effects you want, if not already inside, anything can be downloaded. The Line 6 4x12" is strained by the 200w RMS of head unit power (plus 40w RMS into built-in 4-inch speakers) so I got the Yamaha w/ mismatched “Eminence Legend1218” and “The Tonker 12" drivers, (switchable mono or stereo operation, you can choose which driver to partner with which amp). FBV3 footboard controls it all! The guitar costs more than the rest of the gear put together, and very much worth it (even if like me, you have to go with the foreign-made JTV90F Bstock, which is still my best guitar).

    ESP and LTD getting lumped together is the same as lumping Fender with Squier or Gibson with Epiphone, not entirely relevant. QC on LTD definitely struggles, but an ESP Standard Series (before they memed us all with E-II) is a custom shop quality guitar.

    I love Ernie ball but I prefer roto sound. I always end up breaking Ernie ball strings it's always the high e string (there's always allot more life in the strings). But with roto sound you get an extra high e and to this day I've never had to use one of them and I've been using roto sound for 2 years. I use them on all of my guitars (i have 5) and change strings every 2-4 months or so.
