Religion isn't taken seriously here for the most part (4th in the world with 69% of the population having no belief, according to 2017 Gallup polls) and I don't think we have any televangelism channels at all, though I don't really watch TV so can't say for sure. I have had internet access since the mid-90s though, so that has probably helped me recognise bullshit more easily when I see it. Despite all that, I do remember having to recite the Lord's Prayer every morning at primary school, which still weirds me out as I wouldn't have known 'non-belief' could be a thing at that age. It's sickening we were made to do that.

I remember many times while living with my mom, grandma and great aunt, talk about these people. They constantly gave money to them, living pay check to pay check but still giving "the church" lots of money. I have an old memory of going to these christian churches. My aunt ordered me around at this big church to get in line to get a cd or book from the tables outside the doors inside. My aunt Darla would slap $5 in my hand to donate, I think she believed if I gave money and did what I was told then my heart/soul, what ever was saved or something like that. The only thing I remember is falling in line just to please my family. I enjoyed being alone, away from my family. Currently Im learning more about religion and faiths. The only thing I'm truly focused on is raising the kids and having a good time. Which is simply being outside like camping and being around animals. Arts and crafts are a big part of our indoor and outdoor activities.

I guess the prosperity gospel that, amongst others, Osteen preaches has become so common that people don't see it as extreme anymore but considering they are claiming a doctrine that says that if you're rich it's a sign God loves you and if you're poor, you're not praying hard enough is based on the teachings of Jesus and his disciples who preached directly that worldly wealth should be shared and any attachment to it will prevent your "salvation"... I'd say that's pretty extreme. To me it would make more sense if he was leading prayers to Mammon, but he keeps calling him Jesus.
Osteen's a tough one. I can't help but get suckered in to some of his feel good messages, but maybe he just strikes a chord with whats left of my subconscious Christian programming. It's weird. When I see criticisms of him I'm like "Yeah, that's a totally valid point." but then if I watch some Osteen stuff my brain goes "But he's such a nice guy that just wants people to be loving and prosperous!" barkYdarkATFB There are a few things that I need to establish first. What is bottom line of the situation? In scripture it says that after death comes the judgment. Mankind as a race offended God in the beginning. God is all good. There is no evil in Him. Since men are subject to Him, being created by Him, they should live holy lives as they are called by Christ to. Those who don’t and continue to offend God will be banished to outer darkness in the end. With all that said, there is a certain way that we should live our lives. It is a very natural way but it is a difficult way because of many many conflicting ideologies. Homosexuality is against that natural order that God has made. Hence it’s a sin. The Christian knows this and knows the ultimate end of one who continues to sin. He pleads with the person to change their way. He begs God to give them more time to turn from it. The ultimate end of the person who continues to sin is Hell. It’s simply the way it is with Christianity. Is it not a loving thing to do to try to help save someone who is going to meet a terrifying end?

Religion isn't taken seriously here for the most part (4th in the world with 69% of the population having no belief, according to 2017 Gallup polls) and I don't think we have any televangelism channels at all, though I don't really watch TV so can't say for sure. I have had internet access since the mid-90s though, so that has probably helped me recognise bullshit more easily when I see it. Despite all that, I do remember having to recite the Lord's Prayer every morning at primary school, which still weirds me out as I wouldn't have known 'non-belief' could be a thing at that age. I remember many times while living with my mom, grandma and great aunt, talk about these people. They constantly gave money to them, living pay check to pay check but still giving "the church" lots of money. I have an old memory of going to these christian churches. My aunt ordered me around at this big church to get in line to get a cd or book from the tables outside the doors inside. My aunt Darla would slap $5 in my hand to donate, I think she believed if I gave money and did what I was told then my heart/soul, what ever was saved or something like that. The only thing I remember is falling in line just to please my family. I enjoyed being alone, away from my family. Currently Im learning more about religion and faiths. The only thing I'm truly focused on is raising the kids and having a good time. Which is simply being outside like camping and being around animals. Arts and crafts are a big part of our indoor and outdoor activities.
These guys should pray there's no god. Otherwise they're in big trouble once they "meet their maker".

I guess the prosperity gospel that, amongst others, Osteen preaches has become so common that people don't see it as extreme anymore but considering they are claiming a doctrine that says that if you're rich it's a sign God loves you and if you're poor, you're not praying hard enough is based on the teachings of Jesus and his disciples who preached directly that worldly wealth should be shared and any attachment to it will prevent your "salvation"... I'd say that's pretty extreme. To me it would make more sense if he was leading prayers to Mammon, but he keeps calling him Jesus.
Osteen's a tough one. I can't help but get suckered in to some of his feel good messages, but maybe he just strikes a chord with whats left of my subconscious Christian programming. It's weird. When I see criticisms of him I'm like "Yeah, that's a totally valid point." but then if I watch some Osteen stuff my brain goes "But he's such a nice guy that just wants people to be loving and prosperous!"

There are a few things that I need to establish first. What is bottom line of the situation? In scripture it says that after death comes the judgment. Mankind as a race offended God in the beginning. God is all good. There is no evil in Him. Since men are subject to Him, being created by Him, they should live holy lives as they are called by Christ to. Those who don’t and continue to offend God will be banished to outer darkness in the end.
With all that said, there is a certain way that we should live our lives. It is a very natural way but it is a difficult way because of many many conflicting ideologies. Homosexuality is against that natural order that God has made. Hence it’s a sin. The Christian knows this and knows the ultimate end of one who continues to sin. He pleads with the person to change their way. He begs God to give them more time to turn from it. The ultimate end of the person who continues to sin is Hell. It’s simply the way it is with Christianity. Is it not a loving thing to do to try to help save someone who is going to meet a terrifying end?

After watching the series called the mentalist I realized the parallel between Simon Baker and Joel Olsteen.Both men never quit smiling. Their smile is absolutely attractive to everyone. Most TV preachers don't smile very often. Baker and Olsteen put the viewer off guard right away! Wow!
Mentalism is a *really* interesting discipline that magicians developed-- with it you can defang both preachy cult leaders and psychic con artists. Honestly, even learning a small, small bit of that stuff was enough to make me realize how hypnotic the speaking cadence of a JW meeting speaker was and to pay more attention to the words and examine them (and the congregation) very carefully. It was literally watching hypnosis on a mass scale.
That plaster grin was a red flag to me from the get go. It screams FAKE.

I'm Christian and I think you've done a great job with this video. You present your information well. I agree with most of the things you've mentioned. Franklin is the genuine deal but he should keep out of politics. The tax department needs new laws to stop the unethical practices you mentioned.
