Well done Pastor Mark. As usual one of the only Pastors to take on a tough subject. Very blessed by your boldness and courage. Boundaries are tough with in-laws, blended families ect... then throw non believers into the mix and it's chaotic at times.

I have felt kind of bitter lately because I have felt like my mother-in-law has consistently tried to come into my house and Whisper things to cause conflict in my wife's ear and she always has an opinion or advice to solve some kind of problem that nobody has asked for it is very frustrating she seems judgmental as well you can see it written her face and sometimes little comments it feels amazing not having to see her as horrible as that sounds

@SherylinRM My MIL has done so to our family including financially leaving us in a not so good situation. I’ve limited contact pretty extremely and don’t want a lot to do with her at the moment. My husband believes she still needs to be treated well and not ignored even though she continues on with her toxic self. He has a hard time understanding that he’s not responsible for appeasing her or making her happy. I know she’s stuffing a hole with the wrong stuff, her own marriage is miserable and a swampy mess. It makes me sick how her husband can stay married to her and justify her antics.

I'm the wife, my mother is the problem, I chose not to even let her speak. When she starts with that crap, I tell her her behavior is inappropriate & walk away. She sulks & even throws temper tantrums & that's when we leave... my husband is working this year so it's just me & my 2 teenage daughters, they want to go or I'd just tell them I'm sitting this one out.

Can you please address blended families? Especially families that assumes the spouse is just an add-on to their family that is not necessarily wanted because the spouse wants unity with the person they married then the extended family not the opposite?

Since the video the satanic six, I have been an avid listener, but I am coming to find Pastor Mark that you are an error in one portion of this video. Honor your father and mother is an everlasting commandment, so like the word of God says, but his word will last forever. So when he says on our father and mother, this is not to pick and choose what era of your life that is applicable. Even in your teens, young adulthood, and even as a grown person in their 40s and 50s if you are reading this
Honor your father and mother with your life, as though you would for the Lord
When it becomes an inconvenience for you, or it is not to your benefit, still do the good deed for your parents regardless of age, because by honoring them, you will bring honor and glory to God, the more selfless and cheerful the intention
God bless whoever is reading this

Honoring simply means you hold them as highly valuable...not that you cannot differentiate or choose to respectfully answer no.

Holidays during the child raising years was so stressful. Two sides of siblings who really never established their own families.. despite multiple children and multiple spouses...it was quite dysfunctional...and I think both parental units would probably have been willing to do differently had any of the siblings had healthy stable families of their own. Alas, it was a matter of allowing whoever was the least stable to dictate what everyone else else did or there was hell to pay no matter what you tried. It makes me sad...we did it a lot in an effort to honor our parents...but we finally just admitted it was never going to change and our presence really wasn't a priority or someone would have listened. I will forever feel I was robbed of good memories with my parents because of the dysfunction. We are being very intentional about doing it differently with our kids and their families. It's not a hone run everytime...but our batting averages are higher.

I’m sorry I didn’t read the video the same way you did. I think what he was trying to get at is don’t allow your family (even if it’s ust a husband and wife or a husband and wife and small children ) to deal with an everybody loves Raymond situation. You can be loving and respectful of the dysfunctional person without putting your family through the dysfunction.

Honoring your father and mother has been used way too much to continue to abuse family members. God knows the truth and see everything . Even bad parents

This is easy walk as Yeshua walked
and follow the Jewish festivals instead of american man made holidays that integrate paganism and you have to constantly think about including Jesus in something He never endorsed . The Father Son Holy Spirit are already in the Jewish festivals Christ Jesus kept His 33years
1John 3:6He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

I wish there was a love button! I like a lot of these preachers but this part eerks me. They know it's a pagan holiday and has nothing to do with Jesus. Yet preach as if it is knowingly it's not. They talk about demons spiritual warfare and discernment but are double minded and neglect it when it comes to these pagan holidays they christianized. They forget the commands God gave of not pushing Him into pagan traditions they totally turn a blind eye to the golden calf to the rededication of the temple (taking out the pagan rituals and celebrations out of Lord's Temple)... It's like He's screaming at christiandom how do these especially Driscoll not see this??? Not speak out on it? They say not to be legalistic but speak of spiritual warfare and the courts of heaven, they preach on the commands of God for family and husbands head of house ... And more yet neglect this big red elephant. I just don't get it. Jesus is not the reason for the season coming from Paganism to Christ I can't in the Holy Spirit and with discernment ever look at these pagan holidays as Lord's Holy Days because they absolutely are not

@@nicolettemoore7711Because they are not, and have never been pagan holidays. It helps if you know history and how each one started instead of blindly listening to the atheists who try to justify Halloween by saying Christmas and Easter used to be pagan.

Thanksgiving celebrates the United States settlers that wanted to say thank you. There’s nothing wrong with that. And some of the other holidays that you mentioned had no ill intent. A lot of Christians are observing a moment in time to be grateful. Anyone can corrupt any holiday if they so chose. I don’t believe in legalism or religion. God asked us to have a relationship with him. And I don’t recall any where, in scripture that God frowns on someone genuinely wanting to spend time with their family observing a moment in time that people felt blessed.
