New Shelby Super Snake Based On Ford S650 Mustang Has 830 Horsepower

Shelby American recently revealed their latest venture into the Mustang line with the introduction of the 2024 Super Snake, marking their initial entry into the S650-generation. This new model is built on the most recent version of Ford's iconic sports car and features several enhancements aimed at boosting performance. Among these upgrades is the option to choose between two powerful engines: a 5.0-liter Coyote V-8 that produces 480 horsepower or an even more robust 830-horsepower version equipped with a Whipple supercharger.
Both options for the Super Snake are designed to enhance the driving experience. Shelby has upgraded the suspension for improved response during turns, installed a Borla exhaust system for better airflow, added more robust brakes, and improved the cooling systems to handle the increased power. Those opting for the manual transmission will benefit from a short-throw shifter and a solid one-piece driveshaft.
In terms of aesthetics, the Super Snake boasts significant modifications to both its appearance and aerodynamics. It sports 20-inch forged magnesium wheels paired with summer tires, reducing weight by approximately nine pounds per wheel which aids in handling. The car's body features a custom aluminum hood, carbon fiber front fenders, a new bumper, grille, side skirts, and a rear diffuser to minimize drag and enhance its sporty look. Depending on the body style selected, the Super Snake may feature a large carbon rear wing for the fastback version or a more understated ducktail spoiler for the convertible.
The interior of the Super Snake is just as specially appointed, with exclusive Shelby embroidery on the seats and floor mats, Cobra-themed lights that illuminate the ground when the doors open, door sill plates branded with the Super Snake logo, and a numbered plaque on the dashboard. Manual models also come with a Shelby-branded gear shift knob.
While Shelby American has not yet disclosed the price for the 2024 Super Snake, they plan to start production in mid-summer and intend to build only 250 units for the year. Potential buyers are encouraged to express their interest soon. Additionally, each Super Snake is covered by a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty, with the original Ford powertrain warranty also remaining in effect.

The Mustang GTD is and remains the most beautiful of all Mustangs. However, with a price tag of $300k completely overpriced.
