AJ’s been using “step around” / lateral movement and pivots since the Povetkin fight. Was doing it a lot against Ruiz in the first fight. Honestly he could’ve done that all night and coasted to a UD in Ruiz 1 but was too anxious for a stoppage.
Nah, we’re talking about something very specific that Derrick James implemented.
Joshua definitely didn’t have the same tactic vs Ruiz. We are talking about lateral traps specifically. Disengaging with no plan or just to reset or re-position isn’t the same.

You can provide timestamps from the Povetkin fight if you have proof of Joshua doing the same thing as described in the video I sent. We can have dialogue if you can prove to know what you’re talking about. Otherwise, I don’t think you understand this.
@@BoxingGems I didn’t drop that point at all. Giving one example to someone is often simpler. In both the Povetkin fight and the first Andy Ruiz fight he was doing this, and also against Pulev. It’s a very basic analysis you’re offering, and you’re attributing things to the influence of Derrick James that Joshua was already doing several years ago. The only difference that James made in terms of AJ’s lateral movement, pivots, “step around” you call it, is for AJ to hold his feet more, when he was doing it which wasn’t an improvement. In the Povetkin fight, AJ starts not too well, and at the end of rd 3 he starts implementing exactly what you’re describing, stepping laterally to probe, set traps, change levels, create angles. He also did the same thing in the first Ruiz fight when they weren’t fighting at close range. The pull counter which you also attribute to James was something AJ demonstrated in the Pulev fight. You also attributed AJ working the body to set up the right hand headshot to James, yet AJ and and any other half decent fighter employs these basic techniques. Again, both against Povetkin and Ruiz AJ was working the body to set up his right hand. Problem with UA-cam is that anyone can. This channel is pretending to be something it’s not.

We didn’t attribute a pull counter or body attack or anything else but the step around game we described to Derrick James. You’re just conflating information. The only problem here is that you think you know more than you do and you’re arrogant about it.

If AJ comes in like he did in the second Ruiz fight, he’ll be fine and win the decision…if he gets overwhelmed or caught in a slug fest, it’s either going to be very difficult or he’ll get KOd…it’s a very worrying fight for AJ imo because Ngannou has the clear power and strength advantage and he’s also very durable…AJ chin isn’t as trustworthy but he has the clear advantage in experience and can do well moving laterally…the ring size will play a big factor in this fight as well…

I agree on head movement, IMHO Francis is clumsy for the lack of better word (eng is my 3rd lag so give me a brake) hahaha true, true that KD was funny :D I agree with AJ KO him inside 8 rounds, everything else is defeat for AJ. I know it's fun to make fun of him nowadays, but AJ is an excellent boxer, that 2nd fight vs Usyk proved that. The thing is AJ don't really know how to play "big man's game" he for some reason went two times to outbox probably the best cruiserweight of ALL TIME (yes better than Holyfield) And it's true what he said on his "meltdown" it's hard work. I hope Francis will not get injured or completely thrown off the boxing game, but on the other hand, he does not really deserve this fights to begin with.

Ngannu will be able to cut the ring and if necessary take couple of shots as he will move in protecting his head with little bit of pickaboo style of Tyson at few points in the fight, he has to. He is not a dummy that is going fight ABC game with Joshua, if I were to advise him , I would ask Ngannu to watch Tommy Hearns and Hagler fight, Ngannu will be Hagler, go force AJ to go slug it out and AJs old reaction will be to shot back and fight, he is also a puncher boxer , but Ngannu has to do that, every round for 30 seconds he will need to be Hagler and move in on Joshua , bobbing and moving and start banging , do not be too concerned about loosing stamina, don’t be too cautious and too patient or he will loose the boxing match, move in , hold and grab and fight inside fight right from the bell, patient will never allow him the opportunity after two rounds, he can figure out AJ game plan in two rounds and after that all in for 30 seconds, rest and reset, after round 7 go for the kill, the only way to win as Tommy Hearns and AJ have glass jaws, once hit solid, lights out and with Ngannu power it will end quickly, Ngannu don’t be too patient or you will loose, should be an all out war from the bell- Ngannu corner should have got him going to knock out Fury, where is that emotional push to finish the job, if Ngannu lacks that killer move and rattle the opponent out, in this case AJ he will not win the mind game and cautious fight if he fights 10 times he will loose it all, move in bang, rest, preserve energy by not throw wild shots- discipline but not to patient will get him winner
