The Lost Art of Positioning (Inside Advantageous Positioning)

  • In part one we focused on outside to at tange advantageous positioning. For part 2 we focus on inside advantageous positioning.
Too many fighters in this era accept exchanging punches in equal positioning which means they are both set in their stance either bladed or squared. The silent agreement to keep that equal positioning is a tactical regression in boxing and often lends the more athletic fighter and/or the fighter with better top heavy defense the most success. This video explores getting to angles for advantageous positioning.

Great video, I spar a lot of south paws as orthodox and am pretty good at using my jab and stepping around to their weak side, but I get in trouble when they close the distance and get inside. I'll be more conscious of the inside positioning now. Also every time I meet and converse with a boxing enthusiast I tell them about your channel. Most of everything I know about the science of boxing is because of you and this channel. Our head coach died earlier this year and I filled in and took over that role. Now I’m finally getting to implement everything I’ve picked up from watching your videos (among other experience). Shoot we just got back from our first nationals in Orlando and now finna head to Louisiana to qualify for junior Olympics in December. I ain’t never coached before but I got all these kids depending on me to teach them and break down the science. All that to say, you really don’t know the impact you making every time you share your knowledge with us! You really out here changing lives whether you realize it or not. Much love Gems

In the sport of boxing, you're not allowed to hit in the back of the head. In a real fight there are no such rules, and you don't have to worry about only using your rear hand when shifting back. You can hook with your lead hand to the back of the head when shifting
or pivoting. You save a beat by doing that.

Bam is not disciplined. Look at him recently. He blows up in weight between fights.
