@@thaimperial97lomas style is more death by a thousand cuts. People get worried getting their head snap back by loma that later in the rounds, loma opens them up for a sneaky body shot
@@thaimperial97yeah right, Loma hits hard and places his punches well and uses all the combinations. Tank is shorter than him too, so Loma is going to look like the matrix against him
Tank is learning to fight in the opposite stance now and I think that will be their key with him against Loma. His team showed that training of learning orthodox for a reason. Just imagine Tank starts off in his usual southpaw stance, then round 6 switches to orthodox. That would have Loma basically completely reset his rhythm. This is going to be an amazing fight if/when it happens.
Great analysis, but none of it applies to Loma who understands timing and rhythm. The vulnerability you see is planned exposure by Loma to setup his opponents. That's why he's always in such great shape... to absorb the exposure.
I'd tend to agree with this, considering Loma's record and the fact that he smothered/blocked/ducked/parried seemingly 80-90% of the shots in the chosen clips of him for this vid.
I was thinking the same, but based on these videos and what I remember seeing in the ring he doesn't use these planned mistakes as opportunities to counter.

@@erikfranzen578 Never seen barrios stopped either. Even at 147, still haven’t been stopped. But tank stopped him. And Loma never fought anyone like tank
Although late, it would be great to see them in the ring together, I think it would still be a great battle even though you have to give the nod to Tank…he’s in his prime with enough experience while Loma at this point is figured out and can definitely be handled by someone as powerful, skilled and athletic as Tank….
what do you mean late? tank is 30 loma is 35.... Loma lost his 2nd fight. He lost to teo in 2020 he now has 18 wins "2" losses loma himself has hardly fought frequently enough to say "late" 18 wins at age 35.......
Simply put. Loma has showed you not only patterns and repetition in foot work. But also he doesnt defend the body well. Loma is sharp but hes not more powerful than tank which will show to become a problem for loma later rounds. Tank can also fight you high gaurd and philly shell if he want to. And hes more athletic than loma. Loma will have some good rounds but tank will just figure him out and outwork him eventually
man why dont you also say he is defensibly responsible on his rythm step, most of the time he does this out of range and even if someone attempts to strike he is defensively sound, look i get it tank is great, but loma is old now, he has lost a lot of durability to the body, he has lost speed, he has lost engine, loma is the smaller man, shorter reach and i get wanting to find holes in his game but the man has done nothing but fought the best who would fight him, tank could have fought loma at the end of lomas prime he didnt, and tank hasnt grown much since then, hes refined what he has but hes always been really really good, all the advantages are out of lomas hands at 135 bc he is a natural 130 lber, he can easily still make 130 but wanted to challenge himself to the fullest. give the man his flowers bc we all know they wont let loma take tanks o on the cards bc they didnt let him take haneys, so he has to knock tank out which i dont think anyone thinks can happen, so this fight is like floyd pacman, ggg canelo where the younger man waits for the older to get too old. it will still be a fight but i dont think at this point loma can beat the elite at 135 like he could in his prime.
That essay won’t be finished but you’re arguing “why don’t you say” which means you’re arguing feelings. Rather looking at the footage being played. That debunks your feelings.
WHEN GEMS SAY CLASS IN SESSION YALL NEED TO GO GET A #2 PENCIL AND A NOTE PAD ….HES THE MOST KNOWLEDGEABLE GUY IVE CAME ACROSS ON UA-cam AND ITS NOT EVEN CLOSE …THANKS CHAMP I APPRECIATE U
Correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t teofimo take advantage of most of these flaws and even got him to look very inactive. And just like you said made people think loma was injured
Loma isn't used to being hit, so shies away from big punchers. He then mounts an offense in the second half. The thing with tank is the skill, counter punching and power. In previous fights, loma wasn't fighting a guy with skills and power. When he did (teo) he lost. Loma has to push the fight and up the pace. Can't give a great counter puncher/boxer puncher like tank. Time to think and mount an offensive
Is there a possible way to never cross your legs while stepping during a fight? Never have to reset? I think these things are what everyone eventually needs to do during a fight, not technical flaws.
Unfort now Tank will demolish Loma. You aint even understand how much slower Loma now. Against Kambosos he was literally 3× slower even than against Haney. And Tank is super fast and sharp now on the contrary. And he def has more endurance than ever before, to just break Loma physically and mentally just eating his soul
Loma has flaws and tank can expose him. The issue I have with some of your examples are that these are guys who couldn't exploit him and got beat. For the most part except for those who best him
I hear Loma is not a natural lefty. Could this be the reason for his reverse cross step? I notice in myself when i practice south paw, I have a habit of cross stepping, putting my left food forward since thats my natural stance anyway.
@@coachjoey22 I don’t fight southpaw, I just like to occasionally be a switch hitter so it’s why I practice it. But to your question, only things I’ve gotten down so far is the stance, not squaring off (never been an issue) and balance. What is still very difficult is the foot work and head movement (defense) I don’t move my feet or head nearly as efficient as orthodox but all progressing
great breakdown! footwork is a super tecnical thing. you make it simple. this match up is crazy though. its a test for both fighters. in my estimation all that pretty euro step crap means nada if you get cornered. tank suffocates movement and uses his strength to time shots. tanks gonna take the ukranian to the weight room.
This is not a great analysis. I appreciate the effort. In your future analysis, you have to think 6-7 steps deeper and understand setups better. Loma L step and crossing are part of his setups and distance against boxers with wide stances. Boxers with wide stances are so grounded that once he figures out the distance now he is working his angles and setups. A great example fight is Crawford vs Spence. Tank has a tendency to lunge in which makes him susceptible to fighters who are great at angles and distance control. If Loma boxes and makes it a point match, he wins all day.
You realize you’re just rambling? You’re talking to a guy who not only works with some of the fighters teams he’s covered but actively speaks with and has garnered respect from Hall of Famer fighters in the sport… Some of you are “too smart” for your own good.
Loma can't win this fight while fighting backwards. He can't win with power. He can win on points. Eventually he will get hit hard by Tank, while coming forward. How will he take it and how will it affect him? That is to me, the biggest question.
@@literarypharaoh1117Loma has shown he can take a punch. Teo cracked him in the 12th and Teo was huge for the weight and a puncher. Loma has a chin good reflexes and great defense. Tank will get frustrated in this fight at some point, Loma is levels above Martin in tricks.

I wouldn't be surprised if Loma hurts Tank too. Tank head don't move sometimes and gets hit a lot and Loma might land something sneaky on Tank's chin on the inside. Like how he dropped Commey. Loma isn't fighting someone that is way bigger and taller this time, so he could easily tap that chin anytime when they're fighting on the inside. I never thought Usyk could hurt the bigger Fury that did the Undertaker when he got dropped by Wilder. People are underestimating Loma's power but he might hurt Tank. I’m just sayin 🤷🏽♂️
Its going to be a tremendous fight! Both athletic, both mobile feet, fast hands but Loma has the Activity and volume and Tank has the explosiveness and power
2:30 this body shot is what will drop loma by the 10th round. that's my prediction. Loma has a long torso for being short Loma can't fight backwards only defends backwards he switches to an orthodox lead foot he can't fight off of.... he cant switch hit so he paralyzes himself You're so right about that L step reset. These are deeply rooted habits in his muscle memory it will be a scary night if tank makes him reset with feints alone after watching this I am second guessing my prediction...... that stap jab to left looks more likely this my first time on this channel instant sub good video !
I would like loma to come out victorious in this fight but with tanks power and skills I give tank the edge to win this one ( also age is against loma😅)
I think opponents are usually too bamboozled and mentally drained to take advantage of the footwork habits. Tank shouldn't be because Loma will also be wary of the firepower coming back at him, plus thesharp dangerous counters. We know tank will go to the body... never seen an opponent going to tank's body except for Ryan in the second round. I'd like to see Loma try. Anyway, this is the first risky fight tank is taking. He gets beat and it's a horrible look. If he doesn't win by KO, still a meh win because it's an old Loma with 3 Ls. Whichever the case, it has to be an exciting fight given their styles and mentalities.
One thing Loma absolutely can’t do is fight on the back foot. He has to have momentum moving forward to launch his offense. Gary Russell won 4 rounds in a row against him just throwing pitty pat combos moving Loma backwards. He still dominated Gary but Gary still had success moving him backwards And he throws so much offense he’s susceptible to a power counter puncher . He was very conscious on not doing this against teofimo that’s why he didn’t really start throwing offense until he thought Teo was tired
I think tank should come out trying to win rounds early, just keeping in mind that he might have to box and not just depend on the power shots. Loma is a complete Boxer. Only rigondeaux, Lara, I'll even say Shakur even though he hasn't really fought anyone of status. Herring was old by then and the guy with yhe concias was oldd and not in his prime. That huy with the funny last name was tuff at 1 time. Shakur is another boxer that would stand a strong chance of beating tank, i think rigondeaux back in the day to. But until a long rangy fighter like a Easter with a jab and good defence beats tank. The jab is the key. Like devin has chance. Im not a big haney fan,but respect all boxers but he got a good jab.
Tank waited 7 years to grow enough balls to say Loma’s name. This might be another clout chase using Lomas name like Tank has done since 2017 Maybe he will put his usual weight stipulations on Loma 😂
@@BoxingGems One day I’ll make my gems tier request but everybody stealing my ideas lol. Ion be knowing what to ask for at this point. Might ask for an analysis on Mark Breland v Malik Scott coaching comparison for Wilder. I just gotta go back in and pay attention to how to request it again🤦🏿♂️
Loma will make Tank fight look like watching a karate movie. Level changes, speed, best footwork, combinations, intensity and speed increase as rounds progresses. Numbers don't like, no fighter beats Loma in accurate punch output. If Tank does no KO Loma, Tank will be mentally, physically and emotionally broken down.
One of the best breakdowns you guys have done and I wonder who will take the early rounds? Both guys love to download and work late. Also can you consider a rhythm step a flaw when its the basis of a lot of soviet boxing? Usky, bivol, and beterbiev do it to manipulate the rhythm or catch savvy fighters trying to time them. It could work for and against a fire as long as its consciously done. If its unconsciously done then its a mistake
11 minutes of slandering Lomas footwork is wild. He has some of the quickest, most deceptive feet in boxing and it wasn't acknowledged nearly enough here. Way too much nitpicking the style of his resets.
@@jacobsims1200 If you're referring to the Teo fight, his slow start lost him that fight, not his footwork. It was the same footwork in the second half when he was winning rounds.
@@jacobsims1200when has a fighter who's is the same size as him beaten him? Yeah you can nitpick, but when you fight much bigger men it's a lot harder

@@allandw My question is how legitimate is his power considering he's either had a size advantage or inserted a rehydration clause in his fights. If his team believed in his power, there wouldn't be a need for said clauses.
Also Tank will have to FIGHT to beat loma. He won’t be able to wait for Loma to tire cause loma know the spots to hit to drain you. He knows how to control your arms move and use angles as well so unless it’s by Ko loma wind.
Southpaws. Those are fights against southpaws and if you haven’t seen Loma do all of this even against the orthodox fighters he’s fought recently then you can’t see.
I feel so bad this how Loma gotta end his career, Tank gone stop him IF he comes in to the fight with great conditioning cause Loma will definitely push the pace to a pace Tank rarely fights at
Tanks power will offset Loma, IMO. Tank sets his punches up great and can counterpunch. Against southpaws Loma is above average, not great. But will we see. My bet is Tank by TKO in later rounds.
The crazy thing is, you’re showing old clips of tank, and he has improved drastically. And these clips of Loma, are the same then, as it is today. I said back then, Tank would’ve beat Loma. And this shows I wasn’t trippin. Tank by 8-9 round ko. And watch, he still won’t get his credit.

Love your breakdown videos as always, also love this hardcore community here 🥊

Great analysis, but none of it applies to Loma who understands timing and rhythm. The vulnerability you see is planned exposure by Loma to setup his opponents. That's why he's always in such great shape... to absorb the exposure.
😂
I'd tend to agree with this, considering Loma's record and the fact that he smothered/blocked/ducked/parried seemingly 80-90% of the shots in the chosen clips of him for this vid.

He said getting hit is part of his strategy 😂
I was thinking the same, but based on these videos and what I remember seeing in the ring he doesn't use these planned mistakes as opportunities to counter.

what do you mean late?
tank is 30 loma is 35.... Loma lost his 2nd fight. He lost to teo in 2020

Yeah Loma clicking his feet together always bothered me. If it’s one thing he could do wrong, it should never be that.
💪💯 excellent video
Loma will have some good rounds but tank will just figure him out and outwork him eventually
so are you going to show the holes in tanks game in another video or are you just stanning for certain fighters?
😂😂Dude said "Stanning for certain fighters."

Tank is about sending Loma into a devastating coma. I actually feel bad for the guy. I hate it had to be him
Wtf are you feeling bad for like lomo is your Jesus 😂
man why dont you also say he is defensibly responsible on his rythm step, most of the time he does this out of range and even if someone attempts to strike he is defensively sound, look i get it tank is great, but loma is old now, he has lost a lot of durability to the body, he has lost speed, he has lost engine, loma is the smaller man, shorter reach and i get wanting to find holes in his game but the man has done nothing but fought the best who would fight him, tank could have fought loma at the end of lomas prime he didnt, and tank hasnt grown much since then, hes refined what he has but hes always been really really good, all the advantages are out of lomas hands at 135 bc he is a natural 130 lber, he can easily still make 130 but wanted to challenge himself to the fullest. give the man his flowers bc we all know they wont let loma take tanks o on the cards bc they didnt let him take haneys, so he has to knock tank out which i dont think anyone thinks can happen, so this fight is like floyd pacman, ggg canelo where the younger man waits for the older to get too old. it will still be a fight but i dont think at this point loma can beat the elite at 135 like he could in his prime.
Loma will win.
That essay won’t be finished but you’re arguing “why don’t you say” which means you’re arguing feelings. Rather looking at the footage being played. That debunks your feelings.

Correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t teofimo take advantage of most of these flaws and even got him to look very inactive. And just like you said made people think loma was injured
💯
You are correct
@@BoxingGemsDevin did as well
@@bull5919 So did Ortiz. Even Luke Campbell had spots of success following the blueprint.
This is an amazing video and breakdown send this to tank
Unfort now Tank will demolish Loma. You aint even understand how much slower Loma now. Against Kambosos he was literally 3× slower even than against Haney. And Tank is super fast and sharp now on the contrary. And he def has more endurance than ever before, to just break Loma physically and mentally just eating his soul
Loma has flaws and tank can expose him. The issue I have with some of your examples are that these are guys who couldn't exploit him and got beat. For the most part except for those who best him
So because they lost the fight nothing was exploited. Got it. Thanks for your comment
I hear Loma is not a natural lefty. Could this be the reason for his reverse cross step? I notice in myself when i practice south paw, I have a habit of cross stepping, putting my left food forward since thats my natural stance anyway.
Do you also notice you're completely squared, off-balanced, and have very limited defensive options when in that position?
You’re talking to a guy who not only works with some of the fighters teams he’s covered but actively speaks with and has garnered respect from Hall of Famer fighters in the sport…
Some of you are “too smart” for your own good.
Crawford is extremely good at fighting off the backfoot, Loma isn't. So using that fight would be a terrible example
Kur vs Loma is more likely, would be nice to have a similar vidoe about how that could play out
Loma can't win this fight while fighting backwards. He can't win with power. He can win on points. Eventually he will get hit hard by Tank, while coming forward. How will he take it and how will it affect him? That is to me, the biggest question.
Everything you said give reason as to why Loma has absolutely NO chance of beating Tank.
@@kddalivest2340
Teo couldn’t even finish kambozo. Knock it off. Loma will maybe eat, 1-3 solid punches, anything over that, he’s getting wobbled then eventually stopped
@@lilsaff21 He dropped him and bloodied him up. They both looked liked they was in a war Teo hits hard and Loma is just Super skilled and bad style for Kam.
@@kddalivest2340Loma cam take a punch from Teo. Not Tank. Tank has ko'd middle weights in sparring according to other boxers and his team. Loma won't last 12 rounds
I think Loma will cause Tank a lot issues with his lateral movement and throw away punches.
Its going to be a tremendous fight!
Both athletic, both mobile feet, fast hands but Loma has the Activity and volume and Tank has the explosiveness and power
In almost all of the examples of Lomas "flaws" he took no damage
No power... As long as Tank keeps the pressure on it won't even be close
Loma got power but tank just has that generational power that can’t be taught
Tank has ignorant groupies
This fight should of happen years ago.
2:30 this body shot is what will drop loma by the 10th round.
that's my prediction.
Loma has a long torso for being short
Loma can't fight backwards only defends backwards
he switches to an orthodox lead foot he can't fight off of.... he cant switch hit so he paralyzes himself
You're so right about that L step reset.
These are deeply rooted habits in his muscle memory
it will be a scary night if tank makes him reset with feints alone
after watching this I am second guessing my prediction...... that stap jab to left looks more likely
this my first time on this channel instant sub good video !
I would like loma to come out victorious in this fight but with tanks power and skills I give tank the edge to win this one ( also age is against loma😅)
Tank is going to counter Loma to death.
Bet you not.

@@BoxingGems thats fire, i bought the tank vs frank one a week before the fight it was well worth it, keep it up!

One thing Loma absolutely can’t do is fight on the back foot. He has to have momentum moving forward to launch his offense. Gary Russell won 4 rounds in a row against him just throwing pitty pat combos moving Loma backwards. He still dominated Gary but Gary still had success moving him backwards
And he throws so much offense he’s susceptible to a power counter puncher . He was very conscious on not doing this against teofimo that’s why he didn’t really start throwing offense until he thought Teo was tired
They are both masters of the angle game
Lopez must have traveled to future and watched this vid before his fight with Chenko
If Tank doesn’t snipe a body shot, like he did to Ryan, he’s going to have a very long night with Loma.
