    Thanks for the vid. I'll be replacing the front end links on my 03 Protege soon. I've never replaced end links before so just wondering if grease has to be added with a grease gun once they are installed? I've seen on other videos some cars need it some don't.

      Thanks for watching! It depends. Most sway bar links do not have nipples to grease, those are usually found on ball joints.

    Can you make a vid on how to replace the tie rod end and inner tie for the same car ?
    because there is no single vid about that on the internet sadly ...
    thank you very much !

    Is it possible to drop the whole sway bar? Then you could get access to that bottom nut. I'm thinking of doing this and also putting new bushings on. Thanks

    at 4:36 if you don't own a cutting tool. you can just take a strong set of pliers or those locking clamp pliers and if they have a narrow tip, slip it up where the rubber bulb is at and hold it tight with the pliers/clamps. then you can start wrenching the nut on the other side. I've done it before. It's alot of force. but if you don't own a cutter, you have to do that instead. what would suck is if you don't have those locking clamp pliers. cuz then you'll need to hold tight to prevent the joint from spinning as you're wrenching on the other side. ugh. Also for certain links, they may have 2 flat sides on there that you could slip in a really flat wrench tip and then use that to counter the turn. especially if that wrench tip fits perfectly on the 2 flat sides. if not...back to the clamps. ugh. good luck!

    I spent over $80 in tools trying to get them off and still could not get them off. The nut and Allen wrench hole both stripped easily. I finally had to cut them off with a Dremel tool. The new ones were around $22 dollars a piece and a lot easier to put on than take off. I had to remove them when changing the struts.

    Alright well I have the same car with the same issue except my links are completely gone, someone hit a pothole to hard. But I bought the new links and they seem to be to long so idk what's happening.

    Did you have to get alignment after you replaced sway bar link?

    • @Johnnysshop
      @Johnnysshop  8 років тому

      If it didn't need an alignment before and you measured the link the same as the old, no.

      Do you mean you just bought the same size link? Or did you actually measure them prior to replacing them? I'll be doing this soon because I have to replace these every 2 years and I think I can handle doing it myself. I just don't want to screw up the alignment.
