Solid vid. Momohero is my personal fav out of all these for not just having a in depth arc, but for a really small detail that I'm sure the staff didn't intend but meant the world to me as a Genderfiuld leaning fem person who still likes masc clothes, she didn't have to change her apperance to be accepted as a women by her friends. Also on the note of Inoue not handling LGBT characters well I'd more so blame that on his tendency of melodrama then any kind of distain. Great stuff eitherway.
As someone who's been watching Toku since the early-mid 90's (literally grew up on MMPR through SPD), and is transfemme; I'm happy we've been getting as much LGBTQ rep in Toku as we have and am glad we've *finally* got a openly gay/lesbian Ranger in PR itself with as minimal fuss from production since Hasbro took over (note that Yost's hassles were under Saban's first ownership period, and Dino Fury's subtly gay characters were snuck under the radar during Saban's second ownership period of the show), one that can be a positive role model for queer youth to show that anybody can be a hero and that they are NOT an 'evil' person (unlike the past century of queer-coded villains in movies and shows that folks like myself had shoved down our throats). Okay; Luna Dopant was a bit iffy as the "gay villain" he was written as, and Naki being NB as well as a (plot-demanded) villain, but things have been getting better as there's more nuanced depictions of LGBTQ characters in Rider beyond them (Yu being transfemale *and* the hero Bishojo Kamen Poitrine from Movie War Ultimatum, in addition to being Kamen Rider Mage in Magic Land, and Oren/Bravo not being specifically a villain (unlike Duke and Sigurd) but rather a strict-but-caring parental figure for Gridon, especially when he's shown the truth about the whole chaos Yggdrasil is working around).
So I don't blame you for not including them, and frankly I'm not sure if it counter, but in the CD Drama for Driver, in Gou's lucid dream he goes on a date with Chase. Though at first he questions why they're in that scenario, he later admits it was what he really wanted.
Great video :) Happy (slightly early) pride 2023!! I think my favorite is Ichika/MomoHero. Her story is very moving and heartwarming, and I really love how her journeys of becoming a hero and growing to be more confident and happy with her gender are so closely linked.
I feel like you missed quite a few people in Kamen Rider that are queer. For instance, in Kuuga, Ichijo admits to Tsubaki that he's in love with Godai Yususke. In Ryuki, Kitaoka and Goro are in a relationship - according to their character book, the two have a joint bank account lol. Kitaoka and Goro's relationship is also referenced in one of the OOOs net movies, it's pretty cute. Kamen Rider Blade pretty much is ABOUT Kenzaki and Hajime falling in love with each other, and the audio drama double downs on that. There's the Hell Bros in Kabuto, who spend the back half of that show talking about how much they love darkness and also each other and also darkness. Kamen Rider Drive not only has Gou, who gets outted in his Mach Drama CD, but also the poly trio of Heart, Brain, and Medic. And if I really wanted to die on a hill I would bring up OOOs or Ex-Aid, but quite frankly there is so much obviously queer stuff in Rider that it blows my mind that so much of it is glossed over all the time.

Happy Pride Month, and really cool video. One thing that i really like about the Tokusatsu fandom is how open it is to LGBTQ+ people, a soft place to everyone. My personal favorit is Momo Hero, and i love The Highschool heroes as a whole. And Tezuka/Kamen Rider Raia, as a close second, not the Rider Time Ryuki version, but the Ryuki show version; tt is implied that he had something more with his pianist "friend", and thinking that way, leaves the motivation of wanting to stop the war and bring Asakura to justice, heavier, as well as his death in Shinji's arms. And even though I have some issues with how Kiramiger does its "representations" of the spectrum, I'm glad other people like it.

I only got into Toku back in January but it's so nice to see LGBT rep becoming more common, good or not so good. My buddy and I did a weekly podcast for every Revice episode on my Channel. We both felt Sakura and Hana as a couple right from the start. We were so hoping they'd pull through with these two and we'd get our first same-sex couple at Kamen Rider. It was clear that it will never be clearly stated in the series. After all, Kamen Rider often has a problem with romantic feelings. I remember Rintaro and Mai from Kamen Rider Saber. Or at the wedding at Kamen Rider Drive, they can't even kiss. That's why our hope lay in the Tokusatsu Fan Club and the Kamen Riders Jeanne and Aquilera Special. Since more is possible here (often more brutal and in the Kiramager's Yodonna Returns there was also a kiss between two women.) Unfortunately, they decided on the safe rail in the end. Sakura and Hana only Talk about at the end of episode 3 would now be the big sister and that's it. That really broke our hearts. What remains positive, of course, is that there might be something like this more often. They were both very popular. Also, I like the female rider as well seems to remain a staple, but my Yuri heart didn't take it very well.
I swear tokusatsu representation is few compare to the marvel empire in recent years, but I found it more respectful, villans aren't made to be overly mean or cartoony(well less cartoony than most "wacky" characters. Piere in particular always seemed like an awesome independent character. about Raya and Gai: even if is a weak writing I love the idea of lovers who just had sex having to discuss the possibility of having to kill their partner,is just the gritty shit I could see in Ryuki in general
I was not expecting Riley from Dino charge and Monty from ninja steel to be on this list. I originally thought that Riley was just being a good friend, and Monty was being a creep. even after watching this video I still think that.
I would add three LGBTQ+ characters for super sentai: in Carranger, the monster of episode 17 was a very effeminate male fashion designer who was rebranded as a female in Power Rangers Turbo, a man who fell for Mio in ToQger before falling for Akira after being kissed by him (offscreen) and the monster of episode 36 in Zyuohger, who was dancing samba and seemed to have a big crush for Azard.

Happy Pride Month!!!! This is a very good and interesting video!!! I believe that we will get to see more of LGBTQ representation especially with Super Sentai from what one of the producers have said and I think this will be the same with Kamen Rider and Ultraman too hopefully. My favourite LGBTQ is Orenz Pierre. I love his relationship and mentorship with Junoichi which lead to Junoichi becoming a better man even when Junoichi forgots that feeling and Orenz made him remember again which is funny. Plus Orenz is fun as heck to watch. Also, I have fond memories of Yu Kamimura as well. She is so memorable. Honestly, I really love and resonate with Ichika Sakurai who is Momohero from High School Heroes a lot more. She is a strong hero who sticks and stay true to her feelings and identity while finding a passive solution to a problem such as talking to the monster of the week in her Momohero debut. The way she connects with the characters and give a sense of freedom and being true to who you are is something valuable to me even now.
I always felt like Lazer wasn't entirely straight given how hard he took his old coworkers death and all his interactions with Emu it's never confirmed at all but all there scenes together feel "extra" also hoppers
Another fact about Finis is when she transformed into another Ichigou/another shin Ichigou, he voiced changed to sound masculine instead of feminine although she’s still more feminine before the transformation.
