In this video I go over all the things you can do to keep your dog safe in the heat. I start by going over the signs of heat stroke and what you should do if you suspect your dog is succumbing to heat-related exhaustion. I also talk about considerations for summer exercise, what to do when it's hot, and how to keep your dog cool when you are outside or traveling with your dog.

Great ideas I especially like the frozen toy with the chicken broth. We’ll be doing that this summer!
Definitely a fun one!
3:23 I am so getting a fan that I can power w my Milwaukee batteries that’s a great idea
1:21 I like the change in point of focus (or whatever that’s called) on the video edits 👌 felt like it helped me stay attentive
So glad you like those jump cuts! It helps add interest without having to shoot with two cameras. I can barely run the one myself lol!
Hi! Love watching you in Oregon. We need to keep our puppers warm up here in the snow.
Hey Kayeb! Yes, definitely need that here in New England in the winter too! Or I just try to travel somewhere warmer LOL!

Not sure why you don't have way more subscribers bc you are awesome. There's no weird tension between you and dogs that almost every trainer I've seen has. I hope you continue to make videos. I want australian cattle dogs someday and I will be referencing all of your videos. Keep up the good work!
Hey Alline,
This comment made me get a bit emotional. I so appreciate you noticing the relationship between my dogs and I, as I work really hard to keep them happy and excited to work with me through positive training methods that take their emotional state into account
This was very informative I getting a goldendoodle and I haven’t had this breed before. I know some breeds might be more prone to heat stroke living in California I definitely don’t want that to happen. Keep on with your informative videos, oh and more doggie safe food to make fun summer play! Thank you!
I'm so glad you found it helpful! With those doodle mixes make sure you keep them cut short and groomed every day to help with the heat. Thanks for your kind comment
THANK YOU for these very timely life-saving AND life-enriching summertime tips! Love the (sort of disgusting, lol) “popsicles,” and the “toy-in-an-ice block” puzzle ideas!
So gross! LOL! But they love a good pupcicle!
Great tips. Thank you
Thanks Valerie!
Another great informative video. Thanks!
Thanks Zeke!
Hi Laura🌞
I hope your well.
I have tried EVERY dog boot that Ruff Wear makes. I have ones they no longer make. I also have tried other boots. PROBLEM
The Velcro cinch ALWAYS hits the du clpaw. In addition I always wrap Vet Wrap-around my dog's paw and up so that the boot Never falls off. I had to figure out a way Because boots tend to fall off. But if you take Vet Wrap they are snug snug. Depending on the smoothness of the inner boot sometimes I will use a special thin sock with the Vet Wrap. The problem is Laura my pup can't wear the boots, my dog ends up limping Because the duclaw is being cinched. I don't know where to go to find a boot where it doesn't cinch around the duclaw. Can you please let me know if you know anywhere I can get a boot that cinches differently. Being on black top when the sun is out is not ok. And I just spent $600 at an emergency Vet because of a lodged fox tail in between his toe. So I would like him to wear boots on grass and in nature.
Thank you so much I was on Amazon last night for over an hour looking for boots again where the cinch would be lower or higher than the Duclaw.
I Love my swamp cooler jacket!
As always great tips.
Stay cool💦
I've been experimenting with Dog Mocs (dogmocs.com) and like them so far. Less durable, and less protection but softer on the dogs and seem to do well with the dew claws because they are so soft.
