These steps are now performed automatically for you by our latest Mach3 installer. This guide remains a very useful walkthrough of the software setup process, but these steps can now be skipped provided you use our Mach3 installer (included in the CNC Software Setup Guide linked to below).

    Thank you for mentioning to make sure you have your motors engaged. I struggled with this and thought it was everything but that, turns out I'm just an idiot and it started to move as soon as I engaged them. I feel like most of the other tutorials glossed over this very important step. Again, I'm an idiot and both Avid, and Mach information is very through and helpful. It's appreciated!

    I’m glad I watched this. This software setup and config process is positively 198O’s complex and Byzantine. I now see why Tormach developed Path Pilot. I have zero desire to use Windows or Mach3 after watching this. Thanks for this video.

    Even though you guys don't sell it with servos it would still be nice to see a video on how to use clearpath servos with this kit.

    Oop! Ctrl-V is paste in Windows, is it actually Ctrl-P in Mach3, or was that misstated?

    • @AvidCNC
      @AvidCNC  7 років тому

      It should be Ctrl-v @ 12:37 - Sounds like a verbal slip on my part. Thanks for catching that! -Nathan

      Awesome, thanks for the clarification! I figured as much but, then, Mach 3 has some idiosyncrasies that have left me scratching my head.. Great video too, thanks for all the detailed information about your systems!

    Has anyone used Path Pilot on one of your machines?

    • @AvidCNC
      @AvidCNC  6 років тому +1

      Hi Jack, Not that I'm aware of, though some have used "mainstream builds" of LinuxCNC. It's not something we natively support, though for advanced DIY folks, most things are possible! -Nathan

    Hello Avid CNC. I am going to set up my pro 48x48 using Mach3. Is this video still valid a far as the steps needed to set up my machine with mach3? Are all the files that are needed still available on your website. I know the latest and greatest is Mach4 butI have a license for Mach3 and would like to continue using it if possible. Please let me know. Thanks in advance.

    WAY too fast up front. I couldn't follow much. Seeing a mouse click SOMEWHERE 8 times in 4 seconds is NOT very helpful. I'm in the market, but not if this is a sample of your learning stuff.
