Loved this video! Im a junior in highschool right now and I really want to go UCLA when I graduate! Your videos are so helpful, especially this one since I want to major in biology because I want to go into pre med to become a pediatrician. (:
I was talking to my academic counselor and although psychobio has classes where I could probably get a higher gpa ( more psych classes) biology upper division classes will prepare me better for the mcat...also after taking an ecology class I realized I'm much more interested in biology than psychology!
+Amanda Magana oh okay! I'm going to be a freshman in college next year majoring in psych and pre-med, so thank you for making this video it was SUPER helpful! ❤️
@@elizabethteresa9231 gonna be honest, i spent two years as a psych/pre-med major and i finally realized that it was not for me at all and now i'm going to law school hahaha. if there's one piece of advice i can give you, it's to do as much shadowing or talking to medical professionals as you can! when i was just starting out, my perception of being a doctor was much different than the reality (which is very common tbh). if it's something that you really enjoy, it will be hard, but it will be worth it. for me, it just wasn't worth it. hope this doesn't deter you from still trying, good luck in college!!

+Tamara Akpamgbo I would recommend Pre-Calculus, I wish I would've taken it, you definitely need it in college level physics classes and basically for every calculation based class! Stats wasn't hard at all for me to pick up in college! I definitely recommend AP Physics if you can handle the load, if anything you could also just take regular physics and AP Chem and AP Bio so it's manageable :)

YOUR VIDEOS ARE VERY HELPFULL, I wanted to ask, how hard is it to get the classes with the professors you want? Because I was looking at bruinwalk and there were obviously professors that seemed much better than others(for example they gave As to the 30 percent of the class as opposed to other professors that were stricter and ruined people's GPA by giving As to 10 percent of the class). Im a premed and im hopefully transferring from a cc in a few months and I wanted to see if there is enough space in classes to get the professor that you want.
Hi Amanda! I'm an incoming UCLA freshman and I really appreciate your pre-med videos! I've never taken physics and I'm planning on studying it this summer so I won't suffer as much.. would you recommend studying the AP physics books or other materials (youtube)? Also, would you recommend self-teaching coding (python etc)?
I would do a little of both! UA-cam helps so much when it comes to physics in my opinion, see if you can go online and read class descriptions for a physics class you will take soon (like the 6 series) and study on the topics it says it will cover! I find that to be pretty useful I wouldn't worry too much about coding especially with python unless you're planning to take some additional computer science classes, I remember I did do some coding in my math series (the ls 30 series but we used another program that I can't remember the name of now but the TA's were helpful so I would only see looking into coding being useful if you plan to take the ls 30 series for your math requirement (which I highly recommend btw I loved it) :)
I will be attending UCLA this coming fall under Biology major and I'm pretty nervous about it especially when it comes to the classes. I just wanna ask what classes you took your freshman year.
Hey Amanda! I have a quick question. Do the calc classes for bio majors you mentioned clear the requisites for med school? Or do u have to take regular calc to clear it? :)
I am a pre med planning on attending UCLA, but i was concerned that since there are so many pre-meds at UCLA, opportunities such as research and clinical work would be hard to come by. Is this true?
Hi Amanda, I am planning to major in psychology in UCLA (if I get in) and would it just take me extra time to complete pre-requisite? Should I major in something that will get rid of the pre-requisites and full fill graduation requirements? Would that be over load of work?
+Pei-Chi Yang are you planning on going to med school? if so think about what you really love to do if you love psychology then major in it! But there will be additional classes you must take for med school that won't really go towards your major requirements
It's so cool that go to UCLA! I'm a sophomore in high school and UCLA is definitely one of my top university goals. I have been there a few times and I love it so much! I am interested in a Med. career too, especially dermatology so that I can combine my love for beauty and science!
+PineapplePalmtrees I love your dermatology idea!!! After you said that I was like omgg why did i never think of that!! Brilliant idea :) Enjoy high school and your free time lol!! :(
+Amanda Magana Yeah, I feel like with dermatology, I could even potentially have my own skincare line or dabble in a makeup line too, so that's why it's also great for me! And lol, I am definitely trying to enjoy it as much as I can! :)
Hey Amanda, I just found your channel this morning, and it has been really informative, thank you. I had a question about being an RA and a nursing student. I just got accepted into a nursing school for this fall, and I am considering being an RA. However, I am afraid that I am not going to have enough time to be an RA (at my school they require 15 hours a week; 12 hours on call 1 time a month I believe), be a nursing student (I have heard that nursing is rigorous), and have time for myself like if I want to go to the gym or have some down time. I guess I just want to know if you think it's manageable since you know what it is to be an RA, and you are taking classes in the healthcare field? Thank you in advance! Berenise Yanez
oh yeah most definitely! There were 2 nurses on my staff last year and people on my staff would work to take their duty shifts if needed and everyone in res life is very understanding and supportive about things like that :)
How hard was it to switch from Psychobio to biology? I just got in as a transfer for environmental science so I have the prereqs done but I want to switch my major to something more bio related. Do you know if it is possible and what would be the best way to go about making the switch.
+nikhil furtado superrrr easy! I actually almost switched to environmental science myself! Just go to the bio office or whatever major you want to switch to during business hours or shoot them an email :)
who shuld i take for chem 14bl, pang or henary. i prefer the one who i can get a better grade in. i heard pang is a good teacher but a hard grader while henary is a little easier.
Thank you amanda. Im actually going to stick with pang cuz i cant rlly change my schedule anymore. Im fine with more math base but thanks for the advice. Uhh one more question, how do u recommend for any of the ls courses and physics courses. Thanks
Hi! I'm going to be an incoming freshman at UCLA this fall quarter, and I'm a bio major planning on going into pre-med. My orientation is next week, do you have any tips on how to choose classes for this first quarter? Your videos reallllyyyy help with all of this college anxiety, thanks so much!
+jeanelle d I would say don't worry too much about getting Chem right away! Maybe even wait to take it with scerri! Also I would say prioritize your pre reqs and stay away from GE classes for as long as you can lol just work really hard in the beginning so you can have an easier class load senior year! I would say focus on finishing Chem and math first and them ls and then physics!
What advice do you have for high school students, as far as classes (AP especially) and advice on how to get to UCLA and advice for future Med. students? Also, what type of Medical field do you plan on going into? :)
+PineapplePalmtrees I would say stress more about getting an A in the class and less about doing amazing on the ap exam to be real! I would also say do lots of extra credit and get involved in at least 3 clubs or activities that are diverse and mean something to you :) Advice for future med students is soon to come after I figure out where I will attend med school! I have no idea! I would like to be maybe a dermatologist or maybe a pediatrician :)
+Amanda Magana Thank you for your help, I will keep this in mind! And that's great! I am thinking about dermatology as well, it's the only one is see myself truly doing. :)
Thank you! This was so helpful. I have a few questions. I heard from a teacher at my school that UCLA tries to push students to their breaking points and weave them out. Is that true?
If it's not a problem and if you and your boyfriend are okay with it, you should have him talk about his major as well if it's different. I think it would be a good idea to talk about internships/volunteer work (like how to prepare, where to look) because those are crucial when you're trying to get your foot in the door of your desired career or educational aspirations after graduating. I'm a first year political science major at a different CA university and I think it's really awesome to hear about your experience being a pre-med student, especially at UCLA!!
+Karin P. lol I'll try and convince him he is a little camera shy:P I think that's a great idea though those things would be good to talk about in more detail in a video! Let me know if you find any cool ways to get involved too:)
I would like this too please I just started at my cc in the fall and I wanna transfer in 2017 so I'm trying to start volunteering at my local Kaiser Permanente but the process is taking so long :(
Are there pre-reqs for the phys, chem, and bio year long cycle courses you need for med school or can you take them as soon as you get into the university? If you could do it over what classes would u recommend taking together in a quarter and which ones would u avoid taking together because of difficulty? Thanks so much this is really helpful! Also do u know any pre med people majoring in a humanities? Do they have any advice you could share with us?
Depending on the imstution, there may be prerequisites for bio, phys, chem, etc. Most specifically its probably a math class. The reason why is because you need to know math(College Algebra and Calc) to take Physics. Most people take biology first semester of freshman year. Chem I'm not sure, again this depends on if there are any pre reqs. Physics may be taken second semester of freshman year or first semester of sophomore year.
Question about UCLA in general...Do you drive for like 2 hours to get to school because LA apartment are expensive? Are people nice and friendly and not that judgemental??
+Chaoyan Yu I actually live on campus is the housing the school has! They are super expensive I agree but for my job (an RA) our compensation is room and board :) Ehh you can find a mix of people everywhere you go :P I would say overall people are very friendly
depends on which premed major you choose! But if anything if 3 weren't enough if you chose one with a lot of classes then you could always just do like one summer and definitely be on track :) I took a lot of classes that didn't mean anything towards my majors (Ex. math 3a,math 3b, precalc, a bunch of psych classes) so it really set me behind so I would say try and do your most important prereqs first!! Because even if you end up switching to another science major like I did you will still be on track :)
Should I take pre-med first since I want to be a psychiatrist? Or should I major in psychobio and pre-med or just psych and pre-med??? I'm so lost when it comes to this stuff even after doing my research on the field. I applied as undecided or psych major to colleges in the fall of 2015.
+Rosy Riah I would do psychobio pre med since the requirements over lap with med school more and a psychiatrist needs to go to med school! You can always switch your major when you get here after you talk to an academic counselor about what your career plans are!
Basically you have a three hour class where you do experiments! The experiments are already written so you have to just execute them in lab, and you have to wear the proper attire and everything! it's pretty official! It's kinda hard in my opinion only because lab work is so precise and even the smallest errors can ruin your experiment! You would write up your results in a lab report and analyze the data you collected through things like excel or something as homework :) I posted a vlog in lab before I think it's labeled "Ucla follow me around...lab ect" or something so you can check that out to see what it looks like :)
Marina Elkess depends which lab class! Mostly though it is groups like you will work with one other person because you can collaborate ideas with them because labs can be confusing sometimes!
+Butter N Jamz I could answer your questions if you ask! My boyfriend is in the school of engineering :) (he probably wouldn't tell me GPA or SAT questions though, I think that is too personal for him)
I am wondering how difficult it is to be accepted to the biology major ? From what I understand freshmen apply without a major but as they need to declare their major some impacted majors are difficult to get into. So what is story about being granted a bio major ? Thanks
basically! It just has different requirements for the major, you can google "psychobio requirements ucla" and google the same thing for biology and compare! Psychbio actually has more requirements and less time to do them
Hey! So I'm only in middle school, but UCLA is my dream school. I know I seem too young to have a specific college picked out, which is true, but it's just my dream college. What are your tips for preparing? What can I do this early to improve my chances of getting on?
+Lauren Jarman I wouldn't say the more the better per-say I would say join a FEW clubs and be dedicated to them and be heavily involved in them (aka have some sort of leadership role like president of them or social chair or something) colleges are more impressed by dedication to a few clubs that mean something to you instead of a laundry list of involvement (a common misconception) :)
Hey, I live in London and here we can get into medicine straight after 'high school'. I was wondering about the process of applying for med school in the US since it seems like med school is like grad school in the sense that you have to already have a bachelors degree before you can go to med school? Btw love your videos especially the follow me around vlogs: gives me an idea of that university is like in the US ❤️
Yup you're right! We do "undergrad" here and then we apply to medical school:) or whatever graduate course work you decide to do! Undergrad is usually right after high school and lasts ~ 4 years :) glad you like them!!:)
+SeashellsAndBooks long story short...I am more interested in biology than I am psychology so I wanted a major where I would spend more time expanding my biology knowledge :)
+Amanda Magana ok cool! also, how impacted is the psychobiology major at ucl? im debating on whether to attend ucla or cal and i know the psychology major at cal is very impacted
+Julia Vo nope it took about 5 minutes emailing the department and they replied within a few days telling me the switch was official :) hmm I'm not sure on that one because I don't know if that is a factor on how they decide :/
I'm from England and want to study law at ucla. From your video and the website, I know ucla doesn't award scholarships to international students, but I'm confused, does this mean that they won't award one to me but if my government awards me one can I apply with it or not? I'm not sure if I worded this in an understandable way because I'm so confused about it haha x
Apply to scholarships from an outside source. Don't just look at the institutions scholarships. There are billions of dollars worth of scholarships. And look into being a law student internationally because I don't know how that works. Good luck.
Are you stressing? Because im premed and im just stressing like crazy about the competition of the medical field, im very focused and have no regrets. I, just wondering and hoping im not the only one freaking out.
+Stephanie Watts (ItsStephie) omg girl I stress about my future every single day Like I have still SO much that needs to be done in so little time :/ no lie haha so I feel you!!!
Same!! And its so scary haha Thank you for replying too!!! Im going to the community college in San Diego and transferring to USD, still have to volunteer at a hospital and have no clue on research!! Would love to keep in contact with you and get your input on some of this.
+Amina Niasse I think that would be very difficult to be perfectly honest! Try to do psychobio if you want to do that it's basically like a double major but it's actually do-able in 4 years!
Amina Niasse yep psychobio is made to be a pre med major it has everything and more that you would need especially with the new psych portion it's a very strict major though and there are a lot of classes required in a shortish amount of time
+Lizeeth De Rosas depends for what major! I know for a lot of majors here it's VERY competitive to get in, even harder than if you were to apply and go straight out of high school!
I think whether you go to community college depends on your situation. If your high school stats are good I think you should just apply to UCLA. If you don't get in then just go to community and transfer. I knew a lot of transfer students at UCLA so its definitely doable. I would go to community straight from high school if I had personal things that required me to stay close to home for a bit or if I was struggling financially and couldn't pay the tuition. A lot of the high school kids I talk to don't want to apply to UCLA because its a big name school and they don't think they'll get in. My advice is don't sell yourself short. Not everyone at UCLA scored above a 2000 on their SATs.
You mentioned that you didn't take AP courses in high school except for Biology AP if I understood correctly. I was just wondering if you can share what you think got you into such a competitive college such as UCLA without doing more than 1 AP? this sounds amazing to me. seems impossible to do today.
+Nathalie Silva Definitely! I can make a video on it, but the short answer for now is I want to get into pediatric medicine, basically I want to be a doctor for children :) I think! I know lots of people say though that you shouldn't say what you want to specialize in until you actually get to medical school :)
Physci is considered hard at UCLA because students in the major are really competitive, which makes it difficult to maintain a high GPA when classes are graded on a curve. You may be doing A work, but because of the curve and only a certain percentage of the class gets an A you might end up with a B in the class.
+Beth Ashagire not to scare anyone off, but very. It's another level of studying lol like there are students who record lectures and listen to the same one like 3 different times (instead of just attending lecture once and taking notes and just going off of that to study), so I think the hardest thing is making sure you're studying as hard, if not harder, than the people in your classes! When you put your mind to it though and actually spread out the studying it's not too bad. I think it's just difficult to study for multiple classes when all the info in them is difficult and often new so you really have to be diligent about studying for each class enough each week or you'll fall behind!
This video would've been so helpful last year when I was choosing my classes for my senior year 😅I took anatomy last year and I'm taking AP bio this year but I didn't take AP Chem or AP physics which I originally had in my schedule
+CarolinaS0598 lol don't worry same thing happened to me! It's okay, catching up is do able a lot of people forget all the material they learned in high school by the time they get to college anyway :P
+Michel mikhael they have amazing education classes here and tons of opportunities to get involved in classrooms! I would say go for it and talk to some counselors here about clubs you can join to start volunteering as a student teacher at local high schools :)
+Mrs.angel Sivan hmmm it depends on your personal circumstances! I would say it is a more favorable path to go straight out of high school only because it seems like it takes longer transferring and there is a lot of catch up work when you actually get to UCLA!
+itslayth i am on the same boat as you. Do you think it will come out on Match 20, same day as last year?? I am so anxious everyday...I wish you best luck!!
Would taking AP Biology help. At my school they alternate with AP Biology one year and then AP Chemistry the next year. With my school due to limited funding i took chemistry honors but nobody really tought the class. So basically although my transcript says i took the class and passed, we didn't learn anything
+21 Styles pre med is your choice. some schools have premed as a major which means you will not get a bachelors degree. So I wouldnt do because what happens IF someone doesnt get accepted and they dont have anything else to fall back on because they dont have a bachelors degree. Major in anything but premed, premed is just a committee for the most part and they help you with connecting to medical proffesionals, advising , mock interviews, job oppurtunities etc.
What year were you in when you changed your degree? I am planning to change mines but I don't know when we can have it changed. Thanks for your videos they are very motivational!

+Amanda Magana Yeah, I feel like with dermatology, I could even potentially have my own skincare line or dabble in a makeup line too, so that's why it's also great for me! And lol, I am definitely trying to enjoy it as much as I can! :)
Hey Amanda,
I just found your channel this morning, and it has been really informative, thank you.
What is the pre requisites for becoming an RA?
Rahima Williams reslife.ucla.edu/employment/ra
My cousin Manvel goes to UCLA he is studying photography and he is in his third or fourth year.
+Sara Gevorkyan awesome I hope he loves it :)
Do you have a higher chance of getting into a university if you apply as bio-psychology major rather than biology major?
Nah
who shuld i take for chem 14bl, pang or henary. i prefer the one who i can get a better grade in. i heard pang is a good teacher but a hard grader while henary is a little easier.
+michelleu8D I had pang and I actually thought his tests were really hard. I would take henary!
+Amanda Magana like they were a ton of math problems
i heard henary was easier, but do u know how is it easier
michelleu8D probably the midterm and final are easier! But the actual lab activities are the same
Thank you amanda.
Thank you so much!
I'm taking 4 classes and working full-time. Pulling 72 total hours this week (EMS) still holding a 4.0..... It is not that heavy at only 4 classes.
+FullNatty 1 **** I mean no disrespect and I think it's awesome your helping people... just throwing in my input.
What advice do you have for high school students, as far as classes (AP especially) and advice on how to get to UCLA and advice for future Med. students? Also, what type of Medical field do you plan on going into? :)
+PineapplePalmtrees
I would say stress more about getting an A in the class and less about doing amazing on the ap exam to be real! I would also say do lots of extra credit and get involved in at least 3 clubs or activities that are diverse and mean something to you :)
Advice for future med students is soon to come after I figure out where I will attend med school!
I have no idea! I would like to be maybe a dermatologist or maybe a pediatrician :)
+Amanda Magana Thank you for your help, I will keep this in mind! And that's great! I am thinking about dermatology as well, it's the only one is see myself truly doing. :)
Should I take AP biology or AP chem for in high school to be better prepared for UCLA pre-med
Thank you! This was so helpful. I have a few questions. I heard from a teacher at my school that UCLA tries to push students to their breaking points and weave them out. Is that true?
+alexis jones lol yes this is what I heard too about our lower division science classes...definitely hardest ones I've taken here
If it's not a problem and if you and your boyfriend are okay with it, you should have him talk about his major as well if it's different.
+Karin P. lol I'll try and convince him he is a little camera shy:P
I think that's a great idea though those things would be good to talk about in more detail in a video!
They are super expensive I agree but for my job (an RA) our compensation is room and board :) Ehh you can find a mix of people everywhere you go :P I would say overall people are very friendly
okay, yea, you're right about good/bad people everywhere! How competitive is the RA job?
Chaoyan Yu very! They only select around maybe 70-100 new ones every year out of the hundred maybe thousands that apply!
wow, so happy that you made it. BTW, I love your youtube videos and please making them!
Your so pretty what's your ethnicity?
Thank you!:) I'm Hispanic, but specifically Mexican, Spanish, and Italian!
+Amanda Magana rhankyo for answering I alway want that ethnicity.
+Bao Do What the fuck
Quick question- will 3 classes a quarter put you on track to graduate in 4 years? Thanks, and I'm thrilled about getting into UCLA class of 2021!
depends on which premed major you choose! But if anything if 3 weren't enough if you chose one with a lot of classes then you could always just do like one summer and definitely be on track :)
I took a lot of classes that didn't mean anything towards my majors
(Ex. math 3a,math 3b, precalc, a bunch of psych classes) so it really set me behind so I would say try and do your most important prereqs first!! Because even if you end up switching to another science major like I did you will still be on track :)
congrats on getting in btw!!! :)
+Amanda Magana thank you!!!
Hi, I was just wondering if you could go into more detail about what the "lab" classes are thanks!
+Amanda Magana are the labs in groups or individually?
Marina Elkess depends which lab class! Mostly though it is groups like you will work with one other person because you can collaborate ideas with them because labs can be confusing sometimes!
I know this is way off topic but do you any information about Engineering school at UCLA ?
Nonetheless Awesome video !
+Butter N Jamz I could answer your questions if you ask! My boyfriend is in the school of engineering :)
(he probably wouldn't tell me GPA or SAT questions though, I think that is too personal for him)
I am wondering how difficult it is to be accepted to the biology major ? From what I understand freshmen apply without a major but as they need to declare their major some impacted majors are difficult to get into. So what is story about being granted a bio major ? Thanks
can you explain psychobio? is it just a mixture of classes you would take as a psych major and a bio major?
Get good grades, study hard, do good on the SAT/ACT, also sign up for clubs at your school (the more the better)!
+champagne mami watch my video on how to get into UCLA! I give all my tips there :)
+Lauren Jarman I wouldn't say the more the better per-say
I would say join a FEW clubs and be dedicated to them and be heavily involved in them (aka have some sort of leadership role like president of them or social chair or something)
colleges are more impressed by dedication to a few clubs that mean something to you instead of a laundry list of involvement (a common misconception)
:)
Have you taken organic chemistry yet? if so, how was it? Also, what internships have been available to you in ucla? THANK YOU!
+Alyssa Arbolante You can only start taking OChem in your sophomore year.
Undergrad is usually right after high school and lasts ~ 4 years :) glad you like them!!:)
hi amanda! just curious, but why did u switch to biology? i got accepted as a psychobiology!! thanks
+SeashellsAndBooks long story short...I am more interested in biology than I am psychology so I wanted a major where I would spend more time expanding my biology knowledge :)
+Amanda Magana ok cool! also, how impacted is the psychobiology major at ucl? im debating on whether to attend ucla or cal and i know the psychology major at cal is very impacted
would u suggest to take calculus or statistics in high school if you want to do pre-med in college?
+Kat Roze definitely calculus...stats was very easy for me to pick up! Calc here is much harder in my opinion
It would be great to know the name of class like chemistry 14A is general CHEM or organic or ....
Was it difficult transferring into the Biology major? Does it matter from which major you are applying from or not?
Good luck.
+Gizelle Blanc thank you so much!
so i'm a current psychobio 1st yr, do you think I can get into a research lab my 1st year?
Are you stressing? Because im premed and im just stressing like crazy about the competition of the medical field, im very focused and have no regrets. I, just wondering and hoping im not the only one freaking out.
+Stephanie Watts (ItsStephie) omg girl I stress about my future every single day
Like I have still SO much that needs to be done in so little time :/
no lie haha so I feel you!!!
Same!! And its so scary haha Thank you for replying too!!! Im going to the community college in San Diego and transferring to USD, still have to volunteer at a hospital and have no clue on research!! Would love to keep in contact with you and get your input on some of this.
What medical school do you plan on going to
Do you think it is manageable to double major in biology with psychology without being overwhelmed?
^^ bump
+Amina Niasse I think that would be very difficult to be perfectly honest! Try to do psychobio if you want to do that it's basically like a double major but it's actually do-able in 4 years!
Amanda Magana But will psycho biology allow me to do all the perquisites for medical school?
Amina Niasse yep psychobio is made to be a pre med major it has everything and more that you would need especially with the new psych portion
it's a very strict major though and there are a lot of classes required in a shortish amount of time
Amanda Magana Wow, I didn't know that. Thank you for replying (:
Hey Amanda! Is it necessary to take math classes to get into med school?
+Aksa David yes definitely!
+Amanda Magana Great job ! What do you plan on specializing in?
i was thinking of being a dermatologist or getting into pediatrics :)
Cool me too. I plan on doing pediatrics and specializing in hematology/oncology.
Would you recommend to go to community college freshman and sophmore year then transfer to a university ? I also wanna go to UCLA
Can you go into detail as to what you want to do with your major in the future?
+Nathalie Silva Definitely! I can make a video on it, but the short answer for now is I want to get into pediatric medicine, basically I want to be a doctor for children :) I think! I know lots of people say though that you shouldn't say what you want to specialize in until you actually get to medical school :)
Is the physiological science in UCLA THAT hard?
+Sang Rok Wang depends on how hard you work! But for the average bear, I heard it is one of the hardest majors around
Physci is considered hard at UCLA because students in the major are really competitive, which makes it difficult to maintain a high GPA when classes are graded on a curve. You may be doing A work, but because of the curve and only a certain percentage of the class gets an A you might end up with a B in the class.
How hard is it to study for premed (classes) compared to other majors and what career are you perusing?
Hey Amanda I am thinking to go to UCLA to become a teacher do you have any advice ?
+Michel mikhael they have amazing education classes here and tons of opportunities to get involved in classrooms! I would say go for it and talk to some counselors here about clubs you can join to start volunteering as a student teacher at local high schools :)
+Amanda Magana I think one they have is called teach for america
I'm pre-med at Georgetown but about to transfer to UCLA!
I was wondering ,is it possible to gradient ucla premed in 3years or 2 years
+Valery Gomez no habla espanol :(
is it better to transfer to UCLA?
+Mrs.angel Sivan hmmm it depends on your personal circumstances! I would say it is a more favorable path to go straight out of high school only because it seems like it takes longer transferring and there is a lot of catch up work when you actually get to UCLA!
i'm so scared to get my ucla decision next month :((((((
Good luck! I hope you get in :)
Jazminne M aww thank you :) that's so sweet of you! do you attend ucla?
+itslayth no but I hope I will!
+itslayth i am on the same boat as you. Do you think it will come out on Match 20, same day as last year?? I am so anxious everyday...I wish you best luck!!
omg i'm beyond scared for my decision!! i hope we both get in
this video was very helpful thank you!
+Mallory Hall glad to hear that :)
Hi :) is biomedical sciences bachelors degree considered premed? Thanks!
any major can have a person be "premed" it just means taking the prerequisite classes for medical school :)
Would taking AP Biology help. At my school they alternate with AP Biology one year and then AP Chemistry the next year. With my school due to limited funding i took chemistry honors but nobody really tought the class. So basically although my transcript says i took the class and passed, we didn't learn anything
Yeah! I think my biology background helped a lot, especially to make sure I was even interested in the topic!
I want to study in ucla
+Nicoletta Mosselli it's great here :)
Do you need an organic chemistry series?
+Lacey Joy yes! It's two of the required Chem classes!
you are really helpful. Thank you.
+Faith 101 you're very welcome honey!:)
I will hear from UCLA next month! Wish me luck!!
+Chaoyan Yu omg I remember how nervous I was
good luck!!!
thank you for the info!
lol i took ap psychics in tenth grade and forgot everything :(
it is okay I think everyone does :P
I want to be a bediatric surgeon and study in UCLA, this helped thank you. PS I'm 7th grade
that is awesome! I hope you reach your goals :D
Can you do a video on how to get in
pre-med ? Pls thank you
+21 Styles what do you mean by "how to get in" :)?
what it takes to get accepted into pre-med :)
+Gizelle Blanc so i can prettie much major in biology and later join pre-med?
21 Styles you can join premed anytime you want. You can even major in whatever you want(english, business, etc.) and still be a premed student.
What year were you in when you changed your degree? I am planning to change mines but I don't know when we can have it changed.
Thanks for your videos they are very motivational!
You don't need to major in science to be premed
ecology was horrendous for me.
I should've taken AP physics as well.
Also don't med schools require 2 years of chem?
yay
+JasonHibono :)
I'm confused...can you explain this more to me?
are you single?
+TheShot Doctorr nope! I've been with my boyfriend for awhile now :)
You’re so cute 😍🤤
