Just wondering if a longer video with everything (desktop review and flying) is better, or is it better to split the desktop review and the flying as I did here. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks for watching guys!
RCdeparture I like the all-in-one approach, but leaving time indexes in the description box allows a person to "fast-forward" to an area of interest. I've seen others leave video links on their videos, but I haven't figured out the how-to myself. (FliteTest does it all the time on their closings and now uses index boxes on the opening screen of their latest build videos as well.) Thank you for the very informative video and taking the feedback! Glenn mnragnar
this plane is super fun to fly. It was my first 4 channel airplane. banged it up a few times but a clear tape did the trick. even though the fuselage or wings might have a slight bent it still flies like when I first got it.
Sure thing and it is a blast! If you haven't flown a plane much or at all though it may be easier to start with something a little more damage resistant than this little one. Still, I am sure you can pick it up.
RCdeparture Cool. The only experience I have with planes is the e-flite super cub. I have a little low wing with the great planes Lancair as well but had better success with the super cub. Would love to give this one a try though.
Hi Bob-congrats! The DX6i has a 2 position channel 5 switch so you won't be able to do all the different flights-well the only one you'll miss I believe is KE assist. This is all on page 6 of the manual. With the channel 5 position at 0 when you start the default is general flight mode. This a great mode to first fly it in-basically it's standard as3x with aileron heading hold on. Very easy and fun to fly in this mode. I would skip the hover assist and torque roll assist until you get comfortable with the model and get used to flipping channel the five switch from 0 to 2 and back. Reason is if you try to fly normally in those assist modes you get oscillations in the plane which aren't so good. So just flip that channel 5 switch to 0, bind it and go have fun. It's a great little plane!
RCdeparture Thanks. The DX6i has the 3rd pos on the "mix" switch in combo with the gear switch. What I don't get is how to tell what mode I am in by looking at the monitor screen on the DX6i. The Ch 5 display cursor does move from the left "0", middle "1" and right "add mix switch". Just moving the plane in the house after activating and changing modes doesn't seem to change; ails return to center in all positions, etc. Thanks!
ultrakool They just don't seem to need it-the as3x provides that effect to some extent. None of the as3x planes have felt oversensitive to me with no expo. I have the sukhoi waiting to go-I should get to it! Thanks for the comment!
Discover RC cool. I'll buy them for my UMX Yak54. They made noticeable difference in punching, recovering and withstand deeper pitch tilting on my latrax alias. So I hope to see difference on this plane too.
lol I red yr comment half way thru...then after I pressed post u started...lol...doh...nice plane I'm gettin one this Friday...can it handle low wind...or is it NO wind?...

Thanks for not putting annoying music on this video... why I like to watch your videos
thanks Marty - I try to use music where it works and leave it out when it's not needed.
Nice flying! I have to get an AS3Xtra ASAP! :)
Put down the quadcopter and get one! lol :)
RCdeparture But what if I send my 'drone' to go pick one up for me?
theimacman If your drone is going out have it pick up some donuts for me thanks.

Nice review... I have been flying the umx sbach all summer. Got this one under the tree.
Hope I will be able to handle it in the house this winter.
Great review. Got one sitting in the box - can't wait!
Thanks! You are going to love this thing. I've been hovering it around the house today :)
Nice video! Does it still seem to have enough power with the 25c battery?
Do you think a heli guy can pick this up preatty easy? Looks like a blast.

Hi, i'm just wondering how much wind this thing can handle. Would 5 mph. be okay?
Thanks for the info .
Just got one and a DX6i radio. What mode should I try first? How do you know what mode the plane is in? Nice flying!

Hay whats your high rafters and low rater also are you using any expo thanks
100% rates; no expo. I have pretty much stopped using expo on as3x models.
RCdeparture what is your thinking behind no expo with as3x. just curious cuz I've got the new sukhoi su-29mm with it. excellent vid prod, btw.

Nice flying.. The only problem I have ever had with this is they don't handle a crash very well.
I was surprised that it handled a little abuse well-but they are definitely fairly fragile and more prone to non-flying mishaps too.
One word - Depron. :)
--- but I hear the flying characteristics are nice and Depron does take foam safe well.
Can you swap the motor with micro motor warhouse's Black insane motors?
It looks like this is motor should fit and it has the pinion. Interesting....micro-motor-warehouse.com/collections/all-motors/products/cl-0820-17-9t

Can you change the motor if needed,or is it fixef.
you can swap it out.
I like the desktop review and flight vids
Thanks-I like to keep them in one video unless the length gets too long.
how well does this fly in wind?
It's not really made for wind-just too light. It can handle a light breeze though given it has good power.
yeh maybe some talking would ov been good.....also nice house....
Not sure what you mean by talking...I do talk about the plane at the end of the video.
lol I red yr comment half way thru...then after I pressed post u started...lol...doh...nice plane I'm gettin one this Friday...can it handle low wind...or is it NO wind?...
How much does this weigh? Just want to know if I would have to register it with the FAA.
+MrAjw31213 You would not need to be registered to fly this one.
