I found at least 2 other Latin phrases if fighting warmonger and landing any attack chain that u might want to look at. And I think they are only said against warmonger

@@abraxesprime7832 hes kinda predictable, if you can dodge his kick hes pretty much useless
@@abraxesprime7832 how, his kick is fast but punishable, also his only alternative to catch dodges it the undodgeable that only deals 14 dmg(basically half of the damage he gets by kicking)and leaves him frame disadvantaged, his dodge attack can be annoying but you can either parry it or interrupt it with a light, his feats are strong bug nothing compared to warmonger.

So great to hear everyone’s thought on the voice work, I’m the voice actor for this character and believe me, this was very hard. We had coaches from all over the world over zoom. It took me 6-7 attempts to get into this game, over a period of few years. I used to absolutely hate the gameplay, but one thing that kept me coming back is voice actors. You, and other voice actors for this game are an absolute highlight for me

Actually "Gun Kai" can be translate into "Get the hell off" but F*ck off may be more offensive so the decided to choose f*ck off as it's transaction

Honestly got to give credit to the voice actor for speaking four different languages for gryphon makes him feel little more unique

Being multilingual is a dream of mine. It never fails to amaze me to hear/see people gleam when they hear someone speak their mother tongue.
Icelandic is one i'm gunning for, but it's harder than I imagined. Without any genuine lessons to follow or a structured learning process to find I'm kinda struggling :D
And the voiceactor for Torbjörn be like "It would sound bad and would offend the native speakers" when he was asked to speak swedish. Come on. it's so cool!
@@oniemployee3437 latin is a very cool language, gives me that feeling on the stomach like when youre on a rollercoaster, even so because my primary language is derived from latin, but sadly its a dead language and to learn it would be just a lot of effort

Actually 55 yo or less.
He is not more than 40 in story mode, the canonic lore has passed 15 years after the events of the story mode since the Warlord Warden disappeared.

It’s not even like they did more work (they had to do all of warmongers voice lines in the language options of the game), but I like gryphons voice lines way more

@ Interesting theory but probably not the case. hero development window is quite long. Any feedback made about Warmonger would not impact this hero. The choices made are quite deliberate. If I had to guess the "lore" reason for WM speaking English is likely because English is probably a second language in the FH universe much in how it is for real life. Gryphon speaking the language of his allies and enemies solidifies his personality as a "people's" person. To honor and respect friend and foe alike.
@@mongrelshadow14 well, for the "Lore reason" i always thought that the english in the story mode was to made us understand what the characters were saying and that they speak the same language, not an second language, thats why in the fights against tozen and the warden even if they were speaking english it was just some few lines, to show that they only knew the basics of the enemy language
i agree with the respect part from gryphon, is something that really fits the characters proposal, still, its a weird choice do leave warmommy speaking the ingame language when they could make the same as they did with gryphon

This is really fast considering that you had to translate 4 languages just for 1 character

All it implies is that this nee character is very well versed in language most people only know one or two. It has nothing about being disrespectful.
@@mudshrooze It's more about how Gryphon willingly learned their languages to speak to them directly as soldiers with respect to make fights more personal and sincere in contrast to Warmonger who shit-talks her opponents in her own language disregarding who they are as people

One of the coolest heros with unique dialogue depending on faction, and a very nice moveset and style.

I remember watching some For Honor youtubers play with/against him back when he came out, and before I got back into the game myself. I was so confused which faction he was. Thought he was either knights or viking, but I thought I was losing my mind when I heard him speak Japanese and Mandarin.
Cross speaking Icelandic sounds more Viking-ish than the Vikings themselves

Wow, he has a lot more voicelines than I thought! Honestly, I think Grpyhon was done right. Varied fashion, looks to be a decent kit, interesting feats and lots of interesting non-English voicelines (they stick in your mind the best).
Only problem is the numbers on his feats. That might need revisiting.

The fact that holden becomes gryphon and in that time he’s made alliances with the samurai and vikings and learned to speak their language is some of the best unnoticed character development

A man who atones for his sins. He literally spent his whole life trying to make that up since apollyons reign. Traveling around the world, learning the languages of the old, and fights for peace. Even Astreus never expected a legend to return. She thought of Apollyon, and her ideology, but hasn't realized that Cross was still around haha.
Yeah, i love this character's journey, and the passion towards him as an adventurer. Always will be a legend no matter what.👍

They didn't have to make him speak different languages depending on who he fights, but they did and it makes me happy.
After seeing the lawbringer come back makes you think will warden come back as something greater.

I've caught word that there are a couple of exclusive lines he says when fighting a Warmonger specifically.
The fact that he's mulitlingual and wears armor from different factions make him feel and look wildly inconsistent, along with his moveset being a mix of more than 4 different characters.
The dude learned latin,japanese,icelandic and mandarin AND the first disciple of Jiang Jun and Lawbringer
So many languages in one hero it’s nuts
