Only found this channel this morning (started with the 5 things not to do) and now I'm hooked. I went a purchased a coal chimney (I've never owned one) and am picking up a pack of chicken thighs to make this tomorrow. Love this homestyle honest cooking, keep it up!
I want to offer you a little bit of advice... Get the weber charcoal baskets (they come in a two pack at Home Depot, Ace Hardware, etc)... Place the two baskets in the middle of the grill and put your coals in them if you use a chimney (I bought a loof lighter when my chimney started to fall apart). Then take your chicken and basically place them AROUND the outside of the grill. This way you can almost reverse sear them, while allowing the fat to render in the thighs. Then when they are close to being done, about 15 to 20 minutes a side, put as many as you can in the middle of the kettle grill to sear them for at least 2 minutes, each side... Then swap them out for the ones that you couldn't fit. The 22" Weber kettle can fit up to a 4lb package of boneless thighs outside of the center of the grill. You may have to get creative to make them all fit, but trust me, it can be done. Depending on how hot the grill gets, you're looking at about 15 to 20 minutes a side. Hope this helps you or someone else. Just my 2 pennies. Cheers from NY..🙂
Fantastic. Great directions. Simple and effective. The rub is great. Also roasted corn on the grill with it and made coleslaw. My wife loved it. The more she likes it the more I can grill.

Hello there Alpha; This is Tim Williams and I'd like to know if you can do the same with Bone in Chicken Breast and how long do you grill them? please let me know and it's a blessing to see you back on demonstrating how to grill on the Weber Kettle Grill. Have a great and wonderful blessed day! Tim Williams
Once they are in the indirect heat zone, how long does it take? I’m still really very new at all of this and I’m learning. I just don’t want to put something on the grill at 4 o’clock and have dinner at like 8 PM.
Here's a life hack for the boys, if you don't want to babysit the chicken on direct heat put it on indirect heat, let it cook and then sear it.. with the setup this dude has in video id put the thighs opposite of the coals and let em do their thing for maybe 15-20 mins and then move them over the coals . If you're in a rush you can do the direct heat and flip it multiple times which is fine also but for me it depends on the situation. In a rush it's direct heat and babysit but if i have time to chill and drink a few beers i let it hangout on indirect heat.. With skin on chicken you can get a lot of flare ups from the fat and have to monitor it every so often. By putting it indirect you can let it slowly cook and render the fat and at the end get a nice sear.. It's reverse searing but I do it for the lazy aspect rather than any cooking benefits like a steak would have by having more uniform cooking. I do this on frozen burgers on my pellet smoker too when lazy, put it on smoke and let it go 30 mins. Flip for another 30 and done..
I prefer chicken breast over thighs. Those that say they get dry are not using charcoal properly. I score the breast, place them between chopsticks or skewers, then marinate them overnight. (Overnight because my days encourage me to forget.) I then prep on heavy aluminum foil and use the offset method on the grill. (Offset is coals on one side, meat on the other.) 10 minutes a side, flip end over end, for 10 more minutes. I prefer less seasoning so I can taste the smoke flavor. The first night serve it with veggies and starch, and the next day cold chicken salad.

I’m so glad you enjoyed the recipe!
Great stuff brother , keep them videos coming.💯
You are a wonderful presenter.
I add corn and russet potatoes to the grill when I cook chicken. Grilled corn and a nice baked potato with that chicken is truly a meal.👍
Great instructions on your grilling method 2:08
I enjoy your videos the only problem is there isn’t enough of them, keep them coming
Nice touch with the added temp gauge/ lid hanger. 👍🏻
Nice rub recipe and a nice job on those thighs. I will be using that rub on some chicken. Thanks for sharing your recipe and making this video.

I’m thinking about getting a grill this summer. How long was the actual grilling time for the chicken? (Not counting the chimney / preheating steps)
Looks good
Looks simple and tasty and you have your dog make a cameo. 👍
Good instructional video! Tell your "Buddy" we said hey.
My little buddy has become an important part of my videos. Thank you for watching!
Love this
Nice!
I worked at a highly popular beach bar in florida, this is how we marinade our chicken, except they don't add other seasoning
love the southern accent 🙂
Hey man, looks great! Going for this method today
Gave you a thumbs up as soon as I seen your beautiful dog 🤣
😊 thank you!
4:52 pm ... what size weber kettle did you use? What were your vent settings? How long did it take to get to 165 degrees? Thanks.
Yes! Keep posting!!!
Cooking this exact recipe all the way here in Glasgow, Scotland! See how it goes!
wasn't it sunny when you started? more please.
Chicken thighs are my favorite meat to grill. Every type of marinade always goes great on them.
Show us how you set up your grill to get going?
Looka great i think we will have to make some like this tonight! God bless you too
Great video… is your grillin buddy an Australian shepherd?
Dogs are great!
If you need to add charcoal during a cook, how do you do that? Anything that you need to do or don’t do when adding coals?
that dog is the best
Just the information I was after as a beginner.

Kind of a novice. What does Italian dressing on the chicken add? Saltiness and oil? Never thought to do that.
What kind of sauce did he put on top 😮
That was sweet baby rays. My favorite store bought sauce!
👍
Good stuff
Are you using charcoil or what?
How many thighs was that? And what size of Italian dressing bottle?
Thanks
Is it 57 cm or 47 cm bbq?
57
Great job brother… always starving us to death!
I belive cooking food over charcoal is the best way to cook food.
Haha, 1:23, I don’t care how ‘rough and tough’ we are, when you see that face, we turn into be softies!
He’s my buddy!

Kraft Original is the best for me
Looks good, try to make your own dressing, don't use that bottle stuff
Never trust a skinny chef applies here
Pretty dog😀
Thank you!
