I had the exact opposite problem as you, but this video still saved me. I couldn’t for the life of me get the o-ring to stay in that groove because it was just slightly too small. I used carb cleaner to make it bigger and that saved the day! Thank you!

Thanks alot, my brother and I opened up my car throttle body, and i sprayed it with the cleaner, expanded immediately, in our head putting it on ice will shrink it but was exact opposite, you saved us alot of time and headache.

Ran into this exact issue on my Chinese mini excavator with Briggs and Stratton 13.5 HP motor. Removed carb to clean and swelled the float bowl gasket with carb cleaner. Tried this fix after watching the video and it absolutely worked like a charm! Saved a trip to town and a few bucks. Thanks!

I would suggest setting the gasket on a block of wood instead of a metal pan. It won't stick or transfer as much heat to the rubber. And no, the wood isn't going to catch on fire. Fahrenheit 451 taught us paper burns at...451 degrees. Regular wood is in the 500-600 degree range. So keep your oven below 400 and you'll be just fine.

If your not in a rush you can leave the o ring in the fridge over night and it should shrink back if not let it sit for 2 days in the fridge that should do the trick

I boiled but not willing to use oven , I my wife already want to kill me by slow death New washer Dryer and if do something to oven I am doomed
So i used a hot air paint stripping gun
    put on screw driver to
rotate and after boiling heated 10 min rotating with heat gun. Was perfect
    Thanks.
The Oven heat or a hot air paint stripper gun worked.
You stating it smells like gasoline made me choose for alternative.
I do not thing a hair dryer is hot enough.
I used high heat on stripping gun and constant rotation. It seemed to sweat water and once dry it fit perfectly

I let mine sit on the counter for about a week and it shrunk on its own. But if you're in a hurry I guess baked gasket sounds pretty good.

Yeah this happened to me when I first tried to clean the carburetor of a lawnmower. Carb cleaner will eat rubber gaskets pretty easily.

Another great tip I just saw on UA-cam is if you have a stiff diaphragm, a soak in brake fluid will make it supple again.

This inspired me to take a slightly different approach. I blasted mine with a heat gun for a little bit. Prevents your oven from smelling like gas and is quicker ;)

Did the carb cleaner solvent fumes make this a magic oven that now expands anything you bake in it? 😉 great video thanks. That’s what I need to do but too scared Mrs will find out 😁
