I tried crocheting my first piece of clothing and it was a shrug It took me really long for some reason The finish product really disappointed me. The yarn was too thick and it was too tight between my chest it's really uncomfortable I'm still trying to convince myself that it's my first piece of clothing and its just practice but the time and yarn it took is not helping😭😭
I love making these, I add more rows in the back so it doesn’t look like I’m hunching so bad lmao, but I definitely recommend thinner yarn, helps if you like that less bulky look
@@flywithme5689 I'm also curious about this because I just made a shrug with a similar pattern to this and I did it right it just looks so bad in the back, bc it scrunches up and makes it looks like I'm slouching. I added 2 rows to the back by just continuing the rows back there idk how else to explain it but it looks a little like a mini cape back there if that even makes sense. I still am not happy with how it looks
I feel like that yarn's width looks fine but I woulda made it to where the top coverage sat right under the boob area so it actually looks like a top cuz this specific look looks odd but hey whatever rocks your boat

Because the yarn is thicker I think it would look better as a (maybe cropped) sweater
I also did one with 5 mm because I had extra yarn, and I am gonna make another with way smaller yarn

block it!! use a steamer or submerge it in water, dry it a bit, and then pin it in place on some cardboard. it'll be more flowy and less stiff & boxy.
