@@mereleonablack7160 sorry I’m not sure, I didn’t count my rows. I just made enough rows until it could wrap around my body. Pretty simple tutorial, made it in a few months (took a long break from it) with little struggle. Accidentally made it a bit short but it still looks good. Ill be following some more of your tuts in the future
I just finished making this after a few weeks! It is so cute and thank you for a great tutorial! It was super easy to follow your instructions! Looks so cute!
Love this tutorial! I’m going to make this one for my 12 year old daughter! She loved it when I showed it to her. Question.. Where can I get that brand of yarn you used in this video?
So, I really liked the look of this dress and am trying to make it, but I couldn't get the top portion to work for me, so I did modify it a bit, using a double crochet foundation stitch for just under the bust, then after you connect it, chaining about 22 stiches, and then SC in the back loop to create a ribbed bust. Should have the same look at the end though.
Did you measure the bust part of the dress (idk what to call it 😭) with or without a bra? Idk how to take correct measurements for clothes since I just started, I hope this question isent to personal !
@melissamah7901 it wasn't so much measurements that was messing me up, it was the way it was formed, I couldn't wrap my head around how to do it properly. That part was on me. But it turned out beautifully, and everyone who has seen me wear it has loved it. I feel like a cupcake while wearing it, for some reason hahaha it's a very pretty top though!
Thank u so much iam very happy that I found this video it was very helpful and for those who have foubt in how it came out I suggest everyond to work on it mine came out gorgeously so like this comment do it reaches to everyone
This looks so awesome!! I look forwards to making it a dress. Wanted to make it black with a flame design on the "skirt". Still gotta figure out how to do that with the v-stitch tho :3
Hi @Granny Gaia First of thank you for all of these adorable baby doll dress and top pattern tutorials❤ I was wondering is it possible to start of working this pattern off in the Round, so I would not have to sew a seam? Or would that make it a whole new set of instructions? 😅 Thanks again!
My slipstich and hdc part of the dress keeps going inwards like im decrease accept i am not I'm keeping track of the stiches with stich markers, making my slipstiches loose, etc..... Any tips on what you think is wrong?
i’m making this but I think my ribbing is tighter so it makes the ruffles look very bunched up, if I created the first row as a treble V stitch in every third stitch instead of two it would work better?
Not sure how that would turn out, but you could try! Just remember that when it’s worn, the stitches will stretch out so the ruffles won’t be as bunched up :)
you can! I think if you make normal straps (not tie straps) then you have already created an arm hole, and then you can continue to add rounds to create the sleeve! I hope this makes sense 😅
I never crohetted before and am a total newbie. I am pretty careful with my hands and good with instructions. I really want to make these things for me, do you recommend starting small with practice or can a beginner make this happen?
Just came across your video while searching for patterns for child dresses to make. Is it possible to make this in a child size? I've only been crocheting just under a year but want to do a dress as a birthday gift for January.
@@GrannyGaia another question, or two or three, now that I've watched all the way through. 1. What if I can't physically be with the child I'm making this for, to make sure it fits around her chest area? Like, I do have a picture of the measurement around, but would that be enough to go by? 2. Is it possible to do the same ribbing style of stitches for the skirt of the dress too? As I'm planning this to be a winter dress. 3. Can I make the straps thicker, or even make them cover over the shoulders, if so, how can I do that?
1. You can google estimate chest measurements for each age group and use them as a guide 2. You can make regular double crochets instead, or switch to single crochets for less gaps in between the stitches 3. To make the straps thicker, make more rows. You can check my babydoll top with sleeves tutorial to make it cover the shoulders ua-cam.com/video/CoB8eNqalY8/v-deo.htmlsi=X1Bs1rRIM6lVvC6Y
I'm confused at the part where you start the skirt. In round 2 are you skipping the v stitch or not? I noticed you skipped sometimes and other times you didn't. Thank you
In round 2 of the skirt part, I put a v stitch into every chain space :) I don’t skip any chain spaces. The chain space is the middle of the v stitch from the previous round. It’s the chain 1 in between the double crochets. Hope this helps!

Hi! it will bectome less ruffly as you add rows, even mine was like that (see timestamp 18:20) If you want it to be less ruffled then you can put less single crochets in the first part of the bottom :) I hope this helps!
I've recently done a similar pattern with 5sc in one stitch and a sls in the next and it created a nice simple wave look with no ruffles or bumps. Although the pattern was a flower I'd imagine it wouldn't be too dissimilar for a top?
I got a request from a friend that wants a tube top like this but she has large breast and I don't know how to get the top part right for her breast size~
You can ask for her chest circumference or her bra size. If you look up the bra size on google, it should tell you the chest circumference. For example, search “32C chest circumference “
Hi! Sorry but I didn’t count the number of chains or rows😅 you can follow the measurements I give in the video! The height of my bust panel was about 6 inches tall and my bust panel was about 32 inches long (when stretched)

hiii great tutorial !! i've made the top part perfectly and wanting to turn it into a dress but the skirt portion for me has very big holes with using the v stitch :( im using dk yarn (number 3) and a 3.5mm hook and I dont really wanna go any smaller on the hook size because it'll take forever haha i'm very impatient. DO you know of any other stitches that look similar ish but create more coverage? thanks!
This tutorial is exactly what I was looking for thank uu much for it . But is it possible to make the top part with hdc in back loops only instead of sls i just found it a little bit hard to do the sls cause of the yarn that i have🙃 ? And is it gonna ruin how it looks at the end ? And thank uu again ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I've only been crocheting for a year and don't have too much experience with back loop only hdc nor wearables, but I'm going to give you my two cents anyways and hope it helps! Hdc in a back loop will likely stretch out the top to make it longer and possibly leave lines from the leftover front part of the stich depending on which side it is worn. Sls is the smallest crochet stitch (as far as I know) and regular hdc is the 3rd smallest for size reference.
@@JingleBella26 yea i actually Can see what you describing im my piece cause i already started 🙃 so i think i might just go with it maybe i change the patter or I’ll just frog the whole thing but thank uu so much for replying to my comment ❤️❤️❤️

hiii great tutorial !! i've made the top part perfectly and wanting to turn it into a dress but the skirt portion for me has very big holes with using the v stitch :( im using dk yarn (number 3) and a 3.5mm hook and I dont really wanna go any smaller on the hook size because it'll take forever haha i'm very impatient. DO you know of any other stitches that look similar ish but create more coverage? thanks!
Hi!🥰🥰 you can try using double crochets instead :)
AHHHH this is SO CUTE! Skipping all my projects that are next on my list this one’s going first for next in line 💕😅

I'm pretty new to crocheting and I made it with ease! It turned out so cute. Thanks for the tutorial! 🩷
So glad I could help🥰🥰
I love this so much. Thank you for a very detailed tutorial! But may I ask how much yarn did u use ??
Thank you so much!!💜 I used 250-270 grams for the top and 550 grams for the dress
@@GrannyGaia thank you!!🎀
Hi, I just fundet your beautiful Baby doll top and am so in love with it BUT (always a but 🤭) can I make it in larger sizes? 🤞
Yes you can! It’s a made to measure tutorial so as you make it, you have to keep trying it on🫶
Hi, thank you very much for your answer. I will try that 🥰 and hopefully I'll be wearing it when summer comes 🥰 Have a nice day and thank you for the lovely videoes - and hard work you do 🥰
I love this and I think I’ll make it. Does anyone who’ve made it know if it is see through? I am worried that I would have to wear a dress or shorts under it
Thanks!❤️ the bottom part is see through, I wear safety shorts underneath
New trending summer collection top uploaded plz sis❤
A maxi dress would be cute! But probably a lot of yarn to accomplish huh?
Yes that would be so cute! And yep, probably uses lots of yarn😅
Picking this as literally THE first thing I am crocheting 🥴🥴 turning out pretty good so far!! Almost done with the skirt part and I think honestly it was a pretty good project to teach me! Next up granny squares 🫡🫡
