Nice to see someone mention Scott Raynor. Incredible Drummer on those early Blink Albums, especially at such a young age. And Yeah, his sticks kept Flying out of his hands Cause he kept Hitting the drums so Hard. 8:00 basically the M+M's Intro minus the kick pattern.
Hi Carter... I think 14" works really good... Nice punchy sound... 16" is not bad though... If you get a chance to experiment at a drum store, do it... But my 1st choice would probably be 14"... All up a 10", 12" and a 14"... On this kit i use in these videos its a 10", 12", 14" and a 16"... All the best Carter...
12 rack 14FT tunes easily to a nice pitch difference, but 16 is great for really low end stuff. I’d go for both, or if you’re lacking in space a 13 rack Tom and 16 FT gives best of both. Edit - interval! That’s the work I was looking for
Hi Presley... Thanks for getting in touch... Yeah its a Mapex Orion snare... Remo Ambassedor heads... Also, I do mostly rim shots when playing beats... The snare is tuned pretty high, but not too high... I do add some reverb to the mix which helps...
Hey there drummer friend... Scott Raynor was such a great drummer on Blink 182s first 2 albums... My first tip would be to master the beats in this video... ua-cam.com/video/fIAFwy0NoEk/v-deo.html All the best!
Hey, this would help me A LOT!!! PLEASE make a lesson on how to play "Carol of The Bells" Choir version!! I'm in the 8th grade and I'm the drummer for Choir.
Hey there drummer friend. Yeah, drumming is lots of fun... These beats are really cool... The best punk beats to start with might be right here... ua-cam.com/video/fIAFwy0NoEk/v-deo.html All the best!
Hi Cdawg... Yes, you are right on! We could have gone with much more faster and technical Lagwagon stuff...Wee will keep this in mind for a possible sequel to this video... Thanks for the great idea!
Hi Shawn... Perhaps its a bit odd... It depends on what I'm demonstrating I guess... In this case it was the original tempo first as that's what we hear when we listen to these drummers. Then, the slower tempo, so we can better understand the 'how to' play the beat... Thanks for your feedback...
@@rockyvsrambo82 it wasn’t a criticism just an observation. Keep up the great work! Check out early Hot Water Music maybe “Finding the Rhythms” he had an interesting groove for a punk band.

So happy you gave double love to the Lagwagon boys, both phenomenal powerhouses and real stand outs in the genre
Yeah those 2 boys were and are phenomenal punk powerhouses indeed... Thanks Kimber!

Yeah really good points made... Scott was the 'baby' of the band, being only 18 I think, on those early Blink albums...
7:42 heres for me
That's basically the fast double time beat found in Blackened by Metallica, Scott's main Drumming influence.
Which punk rock drummer should have made this list? Let us know and we may add them to the next edition...
Hi Mr Debono it’s me Thomas You now from KVPS in 2L
@@t-bombtom7364 Hi Thomas. Great to hear from you.
Tre’ Cool from Green Day
Mackie Jayson (cro-mags, bad brains, etc)!
I think you should have included Robo from the Misfits and Black flag
Number 9 beat is called the cash beat, also missed drummers is tommy Ramone, googy, lucky,Dan peligro, bill stevenson,Jeff Nelson,
Love your input here... Will definitely be checking out these drummers!
on a 4 piece kit would you recommend a 14” floor tom or 16” floor tom
for punk rock/pop rock

Thx bro!
Great video! Super useful
Thanks Ale... Glad it was useful to you!
I love the sound of your snare. Mind sharing your snare setup?

Great video, very easy to follow. Although I definitely recommend putting the titles of the songs on screen
Yep. That's a really great idea... Thank you very much!
Big John from Cigar is the best punk drummer I’ve ever seen. So so good
All right Peter... Love this suggestion... Huge thanks to you!
The metronome makes it hard for me to here the beat
Hi Breiyan... Thanks for the feedback... I will be sure to lower the metronome volume or eliminate it for future lessons... Have a great day!
Love this
Thanks Franklin...

Hi Jaeden... I will check it out and see what we can do... All the best with your drumming! Thanks Jaeden
Scott Raynor is Awesome!!
Gonna repeat my suggestion from another video: David Sandstrom of Refused
Thanks for the suggestion... appreciated!
That snare is so glassy man
Hey there friend... Thanks for the feedback...
@@rockyvsrambo82 amazing video man, keep them coming
Cheers for the lesson! Just a noob at the moment so I'm a long way off getting here, looking forward to getting stuck in though :)

Lagwagin has so many good punk chops in it. Wish you would have went with a faster and more technical one!

Awesome lesson man
Thanks very much Michael... Appreciate it heaps...
Travis 🔥
Yes, Travis is amazing! Such a great drummer!
I think Josh Freese is probably the best drummer in the genre but not even for his punk drumming.
Travis Barker is the gold standard
Derek Grant, Alkaline Trio
Great suggestion... Thanks Alex
🏁🔥
It’s odd that you play it full speed and then slow , usually it’s the other way around in lessons ha.
