@sorashirogami1729 the BMW is 30 more hp then the Goldwing. I have the BMW, 2021, friend has the Honda, 2018, which I've ridden many times. Although love the Goldwing I'll take my GTL everyday of the week.
I had the Vulcan vaquero, the bagger version of the voyager. Great bike and got it as a leftover bike for 14k 5 years ago. You can’t beat it at that price. Another plus is it was way more comfy than my Harley once I put a mustang seat on it. I put 35000 miles on it in 2 years. ❤❤
I'm 48, no grandchildren and have an HD Streetglide special. I know it's fun to hate Harleys but I really like it and can't wait until it warms up a bit here in Utah. I considered a Goldwing but I didn't think I was THAT old, I'm sure they are nice though.
I was in the same boat a year ago. 40 years old and wanted a nice touring bike. I LOVE the idea of the Goldwing, but just can’t bring myself to buy one yet. I’m 10 years away from it, in my estimation. Ended up with a barely used 2021 Road Glide Special with a 122. Love the bike.
2:40 Just for the record touring bikes are not only for old men. I would get a touring bike since they are so comfortable, and I do long distance rides every once in a while. A sports bike will kill my back after like 20 mins and even a cruiser will start to hurt going 80mph+ for more than an hour. A touring bike just blocks more wind and is super nice to ride.
I own a dual clutch machine in a semi urban area with tons of stop and go traffic. I love the simplicity of not needing to tend a 6 speed gearbox. Hang on and enjoy.
@@wmopp9100 they are letting that R18 bagger go for about $16k right now, which is a reasonable price, but it's still a sucky bike. Like 1/4 of the bags are filled up with speakers which is dumb when if you are tech savvy enough to be riding a BMW you probably have a Bluetooth helmet.
A bike I noticed that didn't make the list in the BMW section was the R18. I'm not a BMW simp by any means, but if you're talking about touring bikes, it may deserve a mention
Good video. One issue. The 22 K1600 GTL STARTS at $27,500. Not sure where you got $16,000, but if that was the case, GoldWing wouldn’t sell any bikes. I had 2019 GTL that was on sale for $22K. . .Good news is a used 2019 with very low mileage are only $14-$16K, so that is an option that makes a lot of sense. I traded mine for a T120 Bonnie and never looked back.
My formative riding years were the 60’s and 70’s which coincided with the AMF days for Harley, those were the days when Harley riders had to have a truck and trailer bring up the rear to pick up the dead soldiers so I automatically cross Harley off my list!
In my opinion, if you have the money, get the gold wing if you don’t, get the Vulcan voyager. It’s just stupid how comfortable the voyager is even more comfortable than the 2024 Goldwing. And for the price, no other motorcycle can be the Vulcan voyager for the value for money
After a different seat and bar risers, I can do lots of miles on my Ninja 1000. I slid on oil and dropped my 1981 CB900c at a gas station many years ago and could barely pickup those 688lbs. Can't imagine screwing up and trying to pick up 800lb+
you forgot to go up one step from the Challenger into the Pursuit, but other than fully bagged out seems to be essentially the same bike haha! thanks for the comparisons!
I ride my 30 Year old Electraglide. Don’t need infotainment screen just pop a Bluetooth FM Transmitter into its cigarette lighter and boom I have instant music. But thing about it is. I don’t owe for it.
I had a 1999 Royal Star Venture and I loved it. I had purchased it in 2003 with 3000 miles on it. After 88,000 miles I replaced it in 2009 with a 2003 Electra Glide Ultra Classic that had 8,000 miles. I prefer the H-D but the RSV is a solid machine with very nice power and handling characteristics. What hurts the RSV for touring is the electrical output. It's only 36 Amp which is not enough for two-up heated gear and extra lighting. I had a Corbin saddle on mine which I was really comfortable with. Everyone who saw the RSV loved the retro ribbon speedometer.
I need to give the nod to the 2018 and newer Yamaha Star Venture. It was an absolutely brilliant big v twin cruiser that was discontinued when Yamaha realized they weren't sewing enough to make money.
Yamaha missed the bus with the New Venture TC. i have one and it is a helluva machine. Too bad they're advertising department was full of brainless twits!
Thank you for ending my confusion over my preference for a quality paint finish on my motorcycle. After years of putting up with the poor paint quality of my Royal Star Venture, not to mention the cracking ABS plastic of the trunk mounting points and the front fairing windshield mounting points, it's conforting to know that it's all because in the future I would be riding a Harley-Davidson. After 135,000 miles on my Electra Glide Ultra Classic, I never had any of the paint wear off from tire spray, nor any of the body work crack like it did with the Venture. So keep making fun of Harley-Davidson owners who enjoy the superior fit and finish of their machines. It's good entertainment.
