"Well Annie, you're just gonna have to work on your imagination", that is just classic J.R. Unfortuantely, moments like this were too few in the new show.
They waited too long to have brought Dallas back! Granted at his age he was still every bit JR! But was not in the best of health when the series was coming back. And I knew after his passing the show wouldn’t last cause he was the biggest part of Dallas, the greed, power plays, deceit, and the center of the family
@@divyadijay2709 Patrick Duffy's character was always interesting, but only with the foil provided by JR. I still feel like they could have chosen a better actor to play his son...
Where did Cliff Barnes get off thinking he was 'entitled' to South Fork'? It originally belonged to Miss Ellie's family, the Southworths, which had nothing to do with the dispute between Jock Ewing and Digger Barnes.
Aaron Southworth gave Digger part of Southfolk as a favor to Digger's daddy. Digger didn't want ranching land and sold it back to Aaron for 1,000 dollars later oil was found on that land I believe it was Section 40. The story of Cliff Barnes life Digger either passed on something or lost it thru his own drunkenness and it becomes the Ewings' stole it from the Barnes family and they now in his mind deserve it all.
Actually, Peyton Place in the 60s was the first prime-time soap. However, Dallas took it to a completely different level and changed evening TV forever. It spawned a successful spinoff in Knots, and two much campier copyists in Dynasty and Falcon Crest. Since the 80s, cliffhangers and multi-episode storylines have become common in cop shows and sitcoms. There are several nasty/flawed protagonists recently (Gregory House, Don Draper, Emily Thorne, etc.) that likely wouldn't exist without JR.
She is a fine lady and her character was badly treated in the beginning of the series. Great to see how strong she became. Regarding the ladies I always had Lucy as my favourite but I was a naughty 13 year old back then. She was one of the hottest I knew back then.
JR began as a background character as the initial focus was on Bobby and Pam the modern day Romeo and Juliet. However JR got bigger and bigger. JR became Dallas. It was Larry's genius that such a nice person could play such an evil character. JR was pure evil.
Yup it was actually only meant to be a 1 time 5 episode miniseries based on Bobby's upcoming marriage as we of course seen in the 1st season, and was not even considered to be anything beyond that. That of course was before it aired became a hit and everyone fell in love with that wonderful devil that is now the legendary J.R. Ewing, and from season 2 on it capitalized on him.
Although Post JR Dallas did hold its own after Larry Hagman died, I knew the show wouldn't last very long. At the end of the day, there's no Dallas without JR Ewing!
I still think it was JR's doing to have that truck pull out infront of Pam. When she wasn't killed , He probably told her that Bobby would never love her as a burned scarred woman.
I'm sorry I would have handled it differently if my son threatened me threatened to put me back into a retirement home straight to my face I probably would have died that day cuz I would have beat the hell out of him until I had a heart attack I don't care how old you are you don't disrespect your father or your mother these people today or prophetic
Oh no doubt. However, even IF John Ross is more evil, JR will still be the greatest asswhole of all time. Dallas was the first evening soap and in a league of its own. Most Americans had less than a handfull of channels to choose from. The vast majority of the USA turned on Dallas and it was talked about the next day. entertainment is much more frayed today. There will never be another JR for the same reason there will never be another band as big as the Beatles.
A cheated man is a dangerous man. Love it. The lawyer quote was great too!
Rest in Peace Mr Ken Kercheval and Mr Larry Hagman.
"Well Annie, you're just gonna have to work on your imagination", that is just classic J.R. Unfortuantely, moments like this were too few in the new show.
The new show didn't have the same spark as the original. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
Miss Larry Hagman he was an awesome actor and JR was a fantastic character!
He was a Mister, actually... ;)
Yeah he was
Miss larry Hagman was. Maj in real life Larry's wife
@@LindaMerchant-bq2hp Yeah I know I was trying to say that I miss him.
RIP Larry great actor
"You know you've hit a low when even a lawyer won't take the time to insult you!"
Damn- that's gold.
Classic JR right there, his quotes are just perfectly timed.
Only JR! Loved that character.
Rest in peace Larry Hagman. Every time I travel to Dallas I picture you holding up a glass of your JR whiskey as a toast!
He is originally from Dallas.
Great actors , young and old !
Great job in casting guys !
We the fans miss you Larry Hagman
I miss him and this show. :(
“I’m a changed man, Cliff. Evidence of that is you’re not being wheeled out of here with two broken legs.“. Damn, J.R.! DAAAAYUM!!! 😎
He's as see through as a mosquito net! He came out with some funny things!
Thank you for the entertainment Larry ❤💐🐎
"You know you've hit a low when a lawyer won't take the time to insult you." So classic - J.R. Ewing was the all-time classic heel!
J.R. gave Miss Ellie a lot of grief but he loved his Mama. John Ross deserved to be slapped for that remark.
That was all planned.
Jr told him to do it. Lol
Jr was the greatest
Wife number 3 😂😂😂 Ha.
Pammy, April, Ann
If Dallas had been a movie, it would won an Oscar. J R would have won for Best actor.

John Ross is just like the Old J.R
Jr sounds like my oldest when he thinks the land is birth right
I still miss Larry Hagman what an actor he was❤❤❤❤
Only 1 JR ,when God made him he broke the mold..R.I.P Larry you are truly missed!!
“In my wildest imagination, I never thought you could stoop to this”
JR: “Well honey, you’re just gonna have to work on your imagination!”
Booby's 3rd wife was one stupid worthless bitch!
That was a good one!
Scenes with J.R. and John Ross gave me goosebumps. I'm so pissed they cancelled Dallas....AGAIN!
I still don't watch TBS or TNT because they cancelled Dallas like that.
It was never going to outlast Larry Hagman's death sadly.
@@fighterck6241 Exactly. Dallas without Larry Hagman is like Seinfeld without Jerry Seinfeld.
@@divyadijay2709 Patrick Duffy's character was always interesting, but only with the foil provided by JR. I still feel like they could have chosen a better actor to play his son...
TNT THES. GOES TO YOU 🖕🖕😠😡
Danke
I wish they didn’t cancel this show!!!
1:25 - man he's super witty!
The line about the lawyer is my favorite since I want to be a lawyer. Classic J.R.!

You forgot one: Son, never pass up an opportunity to shut up!
Linda Grey is gorgeous
She is a fine lady and her character was badly treated in the beginning of the series. Great to see how strong she became. Regarding the ladies I always had Lucy as my favourite but I was a naughty 13 year old back then. She was one of the hottest I knew back then.
that was from Jr Returns one of the spin off movies from 1996
I love the fact that even though at his age he's still witty af!
2:21 😂😂😂 JR laugh is the best
Well, I knew that JR had some Jock in him. It’s about time he smacked his son in the mouth.
I remember Peyton Place but didn't realize it was prime time. I was just a kid in the 60's. I stand corrected.
I love you J.R EWİNG
Larry hagman will live in our hearts forever. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
0:15 - damn he can still take a slap! ❤ 0:41 - damn he can give one too!
John Ross was scared of his father, no doubt about it.
If you didn't fear JR, you were a fool
Just as JR was afraid of Jock.
4:13 - from tip to tail

I just don't know if the series can survive without the old man.
3:27 - as a nurse, shidddddd come on through
J.R could braid the hair above his eyes.
Damn this show was not given a chance!
Although Post JR Dallas did hold its own after Larry Hagman died, I knew the show wouldn't last very long.
At the end of the day, there's no Dallas without JR Ewing!
When Larry hagman died, Dallas was over for good. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
Haha... I Luv it! #Classic!
You know the messed up part ,, is he wasn't bad guy but a good guy who had to do bad things to get the right things done,,, DAMN THAT IS BRILLIANT
Oh JR was a bad guy all right ... as bad as they come.
wife number 3 and he didn't see that one coming.
Man I’m that last episode of S1 they looked just alike
John Ross deserve that slap By JR
I still think it was JR's doing to have that truck pull out infront of Pam. When she wasn't killed , He probably told her that Bobby would never love her as a burned scarred woman.
JR was not that evil. Remember he and his Daddy "don't do anything that's illegal "
Where was the olm andy bradley jordan lee ?? BY THEN Jrs old oilmen cronies
I don’t like this hat he used on second run .... I love the classic cowboy hat one he used in the original runs...
That young man who is playing J.RS son. Is I think the cutest young man I've ever seen. I would make sweet love to him🌈✝️
הוא היה משהו אין עליו
Damn woman's out of her mind.
I think they should have allowed Cliff to buy Southfork. Ewings wete always great when challenged.
I'm sorry I would have handled it differently if my son threatened me threatened to put me back into a retirement home straight to my face I probably would have died that day cuz I would have beat the hell out of him until I had a heart attack I don't care how old you are you don't disrespect your father or your mother these people today or prophetic
I can't see JR saying that to Jock or Miss Ellie
John Ross is gonna be worse the JR.. Crap . Jock has to be proud. His Great grandson is worse then the both of them
WIFE #3?FUNNY
reason Bobby always looked so much better than JR the GOOD Guys need to stay young to keep fighting the BAD Guys

What about Jock Ewing?
Who do you think was the Biggest Ewing Badass, Jock, JR, or John Ross?
damn woman's out of her mind lol show me one that isnt
JR was too funny and definitely one of a kind. Sad those days are gone. RIP Larry❤️
I signed a no fracking petition

Well honey your gonna have to work on your imagination lol
I never liked J.R.'s P.I. he looked liked a P.O.S. I watched the new Dallas. J.R

J .R. was wrong ! he thinks has power but he has none. Ewing name does not mean crap !
JR WAS THE BEST CROOKED MAN IVE SEEN
John Ross is J.R.'s son from tip to tail.
Yes and they could have continued on with the show, Josh could have carried it along with Linda and Patrick
