Dallas reboot never got the credit for being so damn good. Larry was ill for years but loved being able to continue working. He was inspired by the memory of Jim Davis who kept working while he was terminally ill.
At least he was able to go a few years and we got to see his story end. Sadly the writing was on the wall once he passed. Yep they should have brought it back earlier...
Dallas is jr.he took over from jock ewing.jock ewing was the king but jr pure class.plus you has to have bobby in there you don't mess with bobby.all cast were good.
Glad we had a chance to see Larry Hagman as J.R. one final time. For years I thought the character would end with War of the Ewings, but instead we got to see J.R. one last time in a crisp new series. It brought closure to the character as well. Larry Hagman had a chance to got out with a bang, even old and sick he had more charisma than most of the actors on the show, that's why he became the star of the show in the first place. Jim Davis had that presence too, but in a different way.
Larry Hagman has made his iconic role as J.R. Ewing one of most the most hated characters in television 📺 history. It is a testament to how great 👍 an actor that he was. R.I.P to a legend.
Watching Dallas from a real young age was awesome. Normal kids don't grow up watching a drama like this. I still say I got the better end of the deal by watching it. RIP Larry and God bless your resting soul!!
Wednesday's 8:00 on BBC 1 - straight after Coronation Street on ITV. This was part of my upbringing in the 80s when my mum made minced meat casserole (till this day, still on the menu :-)). This was a big thing back then in an age where there was only 4 mainstream channels in England. Jesus, I used to love all the honeys dressed up in there - full of glamour - the kissing scenes were a liitle awkward in front of my parents and that's when you knew it was time for supper and bed - happy times and glad to have experienced it :-)
Larry Hagman was such a trooper, you can see how sick he was and he had to have felt like shit filming his last scenes. Jim Davis had the same experience playing Jock.
He felt sick and was weak. He owed no one anything and could've walked away but he cared so much about his fellow actors and the crew. A real professional and a good man.
Tarryl Rosier I’m glad Larry Hagman was able to be apart of the show, and I thought the show could have lasted maybe a season or two longer. I think if CBS had produced the show instead of TNT it would have lasted maybe 4 or 5 seasons.
Larry Hagman as J.R. EWING was the greatest character ever on TV. J.R. and the entire cast of Dallas kept me in on Friday nights in the 70s and 80s without fail !!! And when the show was over I was out the door doing a lot of JR'ing myself. 😉🥃🔥♥️
I have to say that JR was and always will be my favorite Ewing on Dallas Larry Hagman did an absolutely fantastic job portraying his character may he rest peacefully in heaven
We see a guy through the years. Everything changed but the eyes are still the same. Crazy how the show was in the 80's in my childish memories and how it is now as an adult. Larry Hagman was a good actor. 😊
One thing for sure, there will never be another Larry Hagman/ JR.Ewing. I use to watch Dallas all of my growing up years and that was the best TV show ever!!!!. I havent seen any of the new Dallas Show yet but im sure its great too. Atleast Larry lived a long happy life doing what he loved most, being a great actor. Larry Hagman was the whole show of Dallas. Its good they are carrying on with a new show. All of the original cast members were and still are Great, Linda Gray,Victoria Principle,Charlene Tilton,Patrick Duffy. And all the rest of them are awesome!!!!. Well Larry can tend to business up in Heaven now, im sure he is given them the run for their money! lol. I dont think Larry new what angry birds was,but that was funny! R.I.P.LARRY YOU WILL BE MISSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Best thing about JR in the end. He was right about Cliff Barnes. That guy had a vendeta against the Ewing family and wouldn't have rested until he controlled the company.
I remember binge watching the original series with my mom I loved the character from the start! I forget what episode it was but Cliff said JR was Dallas’ answer to Michael Corleone! JR will always be the godfather of Texas oil
J.R Ewing. There is no other actor to play such a character as did Larry Hagman. How they don't try. Dallas is truly one of a kind. And so is Larry Hagman.
In my Top 3 television characters of all time! I think people don't get just HOW influential J.R. Ewing and "Dallas" were. Not just creating the template for adult nighttime soaps and spawning "Knots Landing", "Dynasty", "Falcon Crest" in the 80s, but also, in my opinion, responsible for younger versions of soaps, like "Beverly Hills 90210" and "Melrose Place" in the 90s. In fact, any TV show about money and power now owes to Dallas for essentially starting it all. Not just soaps, but any show were the villain is the central character and almost always wins, like Dexter, Hannibal. Maybe pushing it! LOL. But still, the tradition has been that people want to see the hero win, but J.R. Ewing changed that. A character that you both loved to hate and hated to love. J.R. Ewing himself was such an iconic, mercurial character, the likes of which we see TONS of on TV even now. There was no one else like J.R. during his time, but NOW, there versions of J.R. all over the TV landscape. RIP LARRY HAGMAN!
Don't Worry Little Brother, It's Going To Be My Masterpiece..J.R. Larry Hagman was a true icon and nobody but nobody could even come close to him..R.I.P Larry, you are truely missed..
"Just give me a wink and I'll pay a visit to the judge and tug a string or two" Dam... who wouldn't want a J.R in there corner when things got sticky..
1st bad guy with a good heart i ever witnessed on t.v. all he ever wanted was 2 carry on Jocks legacy. ...the episode when Jock died proved that bcus he didnt wana continue on living after that!!!💯
I wish television nowadays would learn that THIS is how you make a great villain. Someone who is sneaky but downright menacing when they need to be not outwardly menacing and overbearing.
If the New Dallas was created just for Larry Hagman to say that line it would have been well worth it. This line was classic JR Ewing and the best scene of the whole new series.
In this series Larry plays JR properly. The voice is back, the gleam is there and the character gets the right lines. Contrast it to the last few of seasons from the original where they turned JR into a punch drunk failure who lost everything slowly and where Larry just started playing JR all wrong.
I always thought Patrick Duffy and Larry Hagman acted very well together. It makes me wonder if the emotion and tears that Patrick Duffy showed in that scene where he was in JRs bedroom and he poured a drink and he said 'well I knew you had at least one more up your sleeve JR and it is a good one' if that was real or just acting. But in any event we miss you Larry rest in peace.
So when JR said he "flushed" Pam out of the henhouse, was that his way of saying he was responsible for her tanker collision? That actually would have been an interesting storyline.
This revival of Dallas was very underrated. I do understand, however, how the show could not go on without JR/Larry Hagman. He was one of those singular characters/actors that was born to play a part…who cannot be replaced.
Larry Hagman loved working...he loved playing JR, the witty but classy villain....he said he loved playing the role of the bad guy...which was so opposite his own sweet character. Gotta say he was probably the best actor on TV, though Dallas was loaded with great actors. The writing was always the best, too. Glad I lived to see Larry hagman. RIP .
man there's a couple missing from the revival like the deal with cliffs man Frank. He told him to give him the location of the body of the guy Pamela killed and says "I'm J.R. Ewing I can make a body pop up in the middle of a church social and nobody will know who did it." or when they beat up John Ross and he tells Vicente "You shouldn't have put your hands on my boy cause now you're going to jail and in jail life is cheap.... and I got a whole lot of money." Lol gotta love J.R.
“ That’s why you have me darlin’, I NEVER learned my lesson ..” What a great quote , reminiscent of the original Dallas!
Dallas reboot never got the credit for being so damn good. Larry was ill for years but loved being able to continue working. He was inspired by the memory of Jim Davis who kept working while he was terminally ill.
Poor old Larry. He was sick his entire run of the sequel series.... still so damn good...
Poor ole Larry, he tried his hardest to keep going.... this show should have been started 5 years earlier.
At least he was able to go a few years and we got to see his story end. Sadly the writing was on the wall once he passed. Yep they should have brought it back earlier...
Me too wishing it was a sooner start (same as Star Wars) but man Larry still had it to the end.
Dallas is jr.he took over from jock ewing.jock ewing was the king but jr pure class.plus you has to have bobby in there you don't mess with bobby.all cast were good.
This had the making of a great Dallas 2.... what a shame LH is no longer here.
WRONG!! It never should´ve ended in the first place... ;-)
JR is all class. As well as everyone else. There will never be another show like it Rip Larry hangman
God bless Larry Hagman ! From Major Nelson to J.R. Ewing ! Loved both characters, especially as J.R. He was smart and ruthless
Glad that he and Barbara Eden did do some episode of Dallas together after years after I dream of Jeannie series
When J.R. Ewing smiled, you knew evil was brewing!
+anb740 Despite it was the endearing smile of a good late actor that I hope was nowhere near as evil as his character.
I always knew that when J.R. Ewing was smiling-that he had a scheme brewing.
@@maryhlad5277 ALWAYS!!!! And to anyone who saw it, they'd better watch out!
No you see being 4 steps ahead brewing! You’ve got a very low IQ
That smile is patented!!!

R.I.P Larry Hagman 💐🐎❤ you and Josh Henderson had such great chemistry 💎💎
he played the hell out that roll i love larry RIP

he was the most popular villain in history ,True class ,his legend will live on forever
JR: That's why you have me, darling. I never learn my lesson.
JR always loves to get away with it lol!
Larry Hagman was a wonderful villain! R.I.P.!
Even Larry was sick he still good as JR Ewing
if he was still alive..the show would still be on!
I think that it could have survived without JR.
Very, very true!
Tarryl Rosier I’m glad Larry Hagman was able to be apart of the show, and I thought the show could have lasted maybe a season or two longer. I think if CBS had produced the show instead of TNT it would have lasted maybe 4 or 5 seasons.
Actually what killed it it was just too expensive to produce relatives the ratings Larry dying didn’t help that it was going to get canceled anyway
😂😂😂
I still get a tear in my eye at that final scene
Greatest character in TV history. No debate.
Tony Soprano is my #2 behind J.R.
Amen!
Absolutely, no question!
The GOAT !!!!!!!
Agree and yes, l often quote JR. smartest man alive.
My Favorite quote of his has to be..."Blood is Thicker Than Water, But OIL Is Thicker Than Both" #RIPLarryHagman

heart skipped a beat when i heard those gun shots...
Larry Hagman had it even in the end, R.I.P sir
the love these actors had for one another is obvious and beautiful.
you can tell linda & Patrick cared very much for Larry Hagman!
We see a guy through the years. Everything changed but the eyes are still the same. Crazy how the show was in the 80's in my childish memories and how it is now as an adult. Larry Hagman was a good actor. 😊

J.R. was the best, I watched this show every Friday night. RIP Larry Hagman
Best thing about JR in the end. He was right about Cliff Barnes. That guy had a vendeta against the Ewing family and wouldn't have rested until he controlled the company.
Cliff needed a hobby like really really bad.
Sue Ellens' fit! She's barely aged!:-D
Sue Ellen OH GOD! I wish I could look THAT SEXY into MY senior years SHE is TOTALLY HOT!!
Rickey Zinn she looks incredible and has probably aged the best in spite of victoria principal being married to a plastic surgeon-
She looks better than she did in the day. Sexy!!!

Everybody loves JR (Larry Hagman)
The sun never sets on a legend... Really, need I say more? ♡
Larry was a trooper, right to the end.One of the best actors ever that ever lived.

Larry Hagman was great in Dallas. Miss him. 😔
After all these years, ALL these characters are still the same. Love all of them !!!
J.R. Saying I don’t need any angry birds is the best comment he said.
Linda looks great!
Don't Worry Little Brother, It's Going To Be My Masterpiece..J.R. Larry Hagman was a true icon and nobody but nobody could even come close to him..R.I.P Larry, you are truely missed..
It's all about that smile.
So great for Larry to spend his last years doing what he loved.
"Just give me a wink and I'll pay a visit to the judge and tug a string or two" Dam... who wouldn't want a J.R in there corner when things got sticky..

I wouldn't want a personal visit from JR himself! Lol.. But, Pam stood her own..
5:37 - "Honey, I don't need anymore angry birds." ROFLMAO
you're not the first Pam to fox her way into the henhouse. I'm 1-1 in flushing out Pamelas. & i plan on being 2-2

“I’m one for one in flushing out Pamelas….and I plan on being two for two.”
Yep, classic JR!
So when JR said he "flushed" Pam out of the henhouse, was that his way of saying he was responsible for her tanker collision? That actually would have been an interesting storyline.
It is sad, you can see Larry Hagman getting sicker as the episodes go on.
Haunting, and becomes more so over time.
No one quite like Larry Hagman.
I never wanted it to be his masterpiece
Well will see. I am a fan of Dallas. Both new and old. I wonder how everything will work out.
Honey I don’t need anymore angry birds . LMAO
"J.R., the character you loved to hate"!
NO WAY!! I Love JR!! (i guess I better be nice to him haha)
Never hated JR.
Dan Tee This winter, my dad & I are going to watch 2 Dallas episodes per night lol. My dad calls him "My buddy JR" lol
+Gravydog316 Have a nice watching ;)

LOL you are too wicked cute for your own good
With JR we know how he went out and not left with a cliffhanger
I want JR back! :(
JR Was Ruthless As Ever!!!
Sue Ellen aged well.
We all need a JR Ewing in our corner every now and again.
Two wonderful people who did love each other
NOBODY could have played the part better than Larry!!!
Wow !!!! JR really hated Pam's . Specially with Barnes as they're last name. I still think he was behind Pamela being cooked by that truck !!!!!
He probably was-- he probably cut her brake lines, then had that truck timed to come in at the worst possible moment, for maximum impact!
PLEASE BRING BACK DALLAS for another season
His masterpiece made me cry
me too
Plot twist: J.R. had a secret weapon, his own personal genie.
"Now where's that old bottle I found on that tropical island beach?"
Hagman was awesome
Larry Hagman loved working...he loved playing JR, the witty but classy villain....he said he loved playing the role of the bad guy...which was so opposite his own sweet character. Gotta say he was probably the best actor on TV, though Dallas was loaded with great actors. The writing was always the best, too. Glad I lived to see Larry hagman. RIP .

AlexanderThe Great And the body popping up was my favourite quote
RJ 1999
Mines too
My all-time favorite quote from JR was when he told Mary Lee Stone she was too old to be playing outside with no clothes on.
