- Dr. K K Aggarwal, Padma Shri Awardee, Editor-in-chief IJCP Publications, will talk on whether all patients with chronic kidney disease require vitamin D supplement. Every patient of chronic kidney disease needs a Vitamin D supplementation. 2000 units per day are the recommended as maintenance dose. If the levels of vitamin D are low than 20, then 60000 units per week for 8 weeks is recommended. Serum calcium levels should be monitored every three months. Maintenance dose of 60000 units per month should be continued.
