Thanks for the great review! To confirm, the Black is our Dura Nylon which is definitely close to Ballistic Nylon. You can check out more information about all of our materials here bellroy.com/our-materials
Thanks for watching! And thanks for the info :) The material feels great to me, and does great with my number one enemy - cat hair. My wife stole this bag this morning so I guess I'll have to get that Apex now ;). Being in Korea, it's cool to have heard the material on the Apex was maybe made in conjunction with a Korean company? Love those connections. In any event, thanks for stopping by!
Thanks for pointing out the difference in materials in the different colors. I didn't catch this during my research. I was originally going to get the charcoal, but i think I'd prefer the resistance to dust/pet hair. Is the black Dura Nylon also water resistant? The Bellroy site does not mention water resistance explicitly on the material, but it does claim the bag is water resistant.
Wanted to mention I watched this video like three times while waiting for the bag to be restocked in the Midnight color. This is an incredibly detailed review. $200 is a lot of money for a relatively simple bag like this, but your review convinced me that it just might be worth it. I've finally ordered the Transit Workpack and I'm excited for it to arrive.
Bought this bag for my husband for Christmas after seeing your review. He's not a bag nerd at all and is in his 30s and still has his school backpack from college. He has no patience for researching backpacks, but moans about wanting a new one all the time. I hope he appreciates it, but if not I'll keep it for myself!
@@silverflash1675 Yeah, but the straps don't lock in place very well. I think the strap keepers like the reviewer uses would solve that though. Otherwise he loves it.
I appreciate you bringing up the topic of cat hair! I am always asking myself while watching these videos "but will my cat's hair stick to it?" and rarely do I get an answer so thank you for including that tidbit😆
Thanks for the great review! Like you, I wasn't too sure about this bag until I saw it in person. The sizing and organization is just perfect. I love the look of the CPL 24, but I'm leaning more toward the Transit Workpack now
It's a tough call. I traded mine with a friend after getting the Apex. The Transit Workpack still has the best laptop compartment I've ever used in a backpack.
Great video! I like your intro as you tried to make a point on the difference of this pack in reference to GR1 and Synik in a good way. The problem with this bag is it doesn’t standout, like what you mentioned that it doesnt looks good on website but really good in Im sold on that pocket at the laptop compartment. I think they really nailed that user experience and can improve the way we organize our pack. Pls keep doing your thing and explore more new bags, your vids is like my therapy and helps on my bag addiction 😅
haha, thanks for the kind words dude, I appreciate it. I actually really liked this bag a lot. It's just a solid all around bag. And that pocket in front of the laptop was GREAT for me in use.
@@jtinseoul7041 yeah that what really caught my attention and that really change the way we organize our things. Its good to have it all in one zipper that you access your laptop, chargers, mouse and other laptop related stuff rather than have to access those from other pockets. Really smart. Will definitely give it a try...
Thank you for the review, Just purchased mine. I currently have the Tom Bihn Synapse 25, i love it, don't get me wrong, but all the other bags I wanted by them, they retired. I was sold on the side pockets / hidden zippers of the bellroy.
Hey JT, have u tried fitting a 30 oz water bottle in the water bottle compartment of this bag? It’s a deal break for me and I wanted to know before I buy. I hope you can help.
I bought the Boundary Supply Errant over this backpack, insisting that I made the right decision. Now I can't help but keep checking this Bellroy Transit Workpack out over the Internet. Your video just confirm that.
I love the Errant but if you put in a laptop & tablet you can only fit about a small jacket. It's really for adventure rambling (not me at all!), not for urban types & is just bad as a work backpack.
Great review just stumbled on this , will definitely check your other videos. Question pls I was looking at the Tokyo bag (both regular and compact) Any thoughts on those two? I am looking for a bag that goes with me everywhere and collapses down a little when not packed out ( which will be most of the time) Weekends I would pack out with a jacket etc. Thanks God bless and have a great new Year
Everyone who reviews this bag doesn't clarify if there are water bottle pockets on both sides of the bag the way there is on the larger version. Can you clarify?
Any tips on preventing shoulder straps slipping? Bellroy won’t send me the strap management system even for purchase. I did buy it second hand. But that issue is such an important core function. Links to any product would be appreciated 🙏
I like this bag aswell, but I had issues with the slippery straps. I had to re-adjust them regularly which is really annoying. Is it fixed with the newer versions of the bag?
Hi, I wonder how does the bag hold up to now? I have watched several reviews about this bag and I agree that the design on the laptop compartment together with the additional pouch is dope, as it can lodge that cumbersome, laptop charger and other tech items too (and a camera!). Do you think the side pouches can accomodate a telephoto lens too? I am looking forward that this bag can be my ideal workpack as well as a possible camera bag during weekends/photo trip (as a sling alternative
Sorry for the late reply! I gave it to a friend but its held up well. I think they might be able to house a lens, but I don't normally use telephoto lenses. It's definitely possible they might fit though.
I don't tend to get very sweaty so it's hard for me to say. My guess would be it would perform similarly. The Synik mesh isn't very "flowy" if that makes sense. The Bellroy here kind of sits in the middle of your back so the sides of your back have a chance to get some air. Although, like I said I don't really get very sweaty so I can't be super sure.
Hey JT, do you prefer using this one or the ever goods cpl24? For Travel? For mobile office? And finally, how is the fabric on the black color Bellroy in picking up lint vs the cpl24? Thanks again man, love the content!
I would prefer to use this because of the side that things are accessed on. Laptop protection is a wash. Both good. That said, in travel if the bag is under the front seat it's impossible to get it out of a cpl without taking the whole bag out whereas with this you certainly could take the laptop out without having to remove the bag.
For a bag I can bring to travel (packable, versatile) and use as a daily bag (laptop, headphones etc) would you recommend the Mystery Ranch UA21 over this one?
They are so different. The Mystery Ranch is much more comfortable but is a lot simpler. Kinda gotta figure out which of those things is more important?
I have a video coming on this soon! I think comfort is kind of subjective so it's hard to say what is comfortable in general but basically for me the Mystery Ranch UA21 is the most comfortable "daily bag" I own. After that, the CPL24, GR1, DSPTCH Daypack, Kletterwerks Summit are all really good.

@@StarboardOar87 the Dura Nylon is very water resistant
Can confirm, this bag is as good as any of my bags at being water resistant. @starboardOar87
Can you comment on the “midnight” rip stop like material and whether it attracts dust and pet hair?

Honestly, I'm not sure! This is the only one I've owned.
would you say the back straps and the overall bag would be comfy when carrying heavier loads such as camera equipment along with a laptop?
Great vid!! Love this bag for all the same reasons. Can you provide links to the Porter pouch for your t-shirt?
I got it from porter's Korean website. They don't ship internationally I'm afraid.
how deep is the pocket in laptop compartment? I want to put my bellroy techkit compact into it (height : 170 mm).
nice review. Is the transit workpack ideal for all day carry? like all day carry in exploring manhattan or tokyo

@@jtinseoul7041 just curious, what bag did you replace this one with?
How would you compare this to the Synik 22 for back sweat? The only thing that concerns me about the Bellroy is the lack of a mesh back.

Keep up the great reviews…. Watcher from Pyeongtaek…
Do you think the laptop compartment would hold a 16” MBP with a minimal sleeve on it? Thanks.
Not sure with the sleeve, might be tight. Not sure you'd need the sleeve with the laptop being as well protected as it is in there.
@@jtinseoul7041 cool, thanks man!
Yep, nooo problem
Is this a 20 L or 28 L ?
Love it! great review man.
Thanks dude!
does your back sweat a lot using the transit workpack?
I don't tend to sweat a lot in general so it's hard to say :/
How is this comfort level compared to Synapse?
Probably similar to the newer Synapse. No sternum strap though.
Why JT why did you not get the Workpack in Charcoal instead 😭
Because I much prefer the completely blacked out vibe of this one..? And this material is more my jam.
do you have a top 5 list for comfort bags?

Are you still happy with this backpack? 🤗
Great bag!
Couldnt find this model. Can you send me the link?
Pretty sure this is it: bellroy.com/products/transit-workpack?color=midnight&material=baida_ripstop#slide-1
I think Bellroy makes some really great products
They certainly do. They are one of my favs in the game.
I wouldn’t want laptop super accessible, that means it’s easily stolen. Prefer it in a pocket in the main storage
So, what about the 28l?
Not sure, it's a little big for me.
Can’t really get a feel for these bags because all of them are basically displayed upside down the entire time
my dudes hands looks as white as a corpses lol
Racist
In this light your hands are scarily white color.
Still trying to figure out this video thing ;) Figured better my hands be white than the bag being super dark.
Sorry, but putting your wallet in an outside pocket is inviting trouble :)
