I think it’s worth noting that people roasting genuine questions or budget setups is normally jumped on and stopped pretty quickly. The main point is to roast each other, really daft questions (especially those where someone has made zero effort to find something out), general audio memes and content creators sharing the same awful advice (like high pass everything or EQ and Compression cheat sheets with arbitrary values) over and over again.
I’m sure you’ve seen content creators with zero experience/credits sharing the same questionable info with no actual regard for the new blood engineers actually being given good information, more concerned about interaction than sharing real knowledge.
There is good information out there but there is also a sea of trash promising quick fixes through clickbait nonsense.
I think “hate you” is a strong word, it’s not that deep for the most part, there might be a few who get too in to it but normally it’s share a quick laugh during ear rests, like you said, roast the click bait thumbnail and move on.
Taking some of the comments out of context like the guy who doesn’t want anymore engineers is misleading, that is someone deliberately saying something outrageous for the sake of a laugh, I’ve seen people post about removing their ears and stitching them on backwards to be better at atmos mixing but it doesn’t mean they actually intend to.
If you had a look at how many genuine questions still get answered in that group and how many of the members give their time helping others on other groups you would see there is no gate keeping.
As for this video, showing your wife, calling out peoples relationship status comes across a litter desperate and is lowering yourself to the same level, however instead of to a closed group you’re taking it to a public forum.
I get you want to prove you have a thick skin and none of this bothered you but this video kind of does the opposite of that.
Anyway, just wanted to bring a little context and balance to things.
