They totally peaked on 'Diorama'. The musicality, the song-writing, the lyrical content. Most bands are lucky to put out one great album. In my opinion, Silverchair put out a few. With the times in mind, I believe 'Frogstomp' was a great debut, 'Freak Show', despite being my favorite album, was a step sideways for them, 'Neon Ballroom' was the beginning of an evolution for the band, leading to them perfecting it on 'Diorama'. It's a shame they never got their due over here, in the U.S.
Neon Ballroom and Diorama are my favorite albums from Silverchair. They were written with emotion and depth. The music I hear now don't even scratch the surface.
Absolutely my two favorite albums from them as well. The emotional depth from both of them are something, I feel, is sorely lacking from a good deal of music nowadays.
I remember when Diorama came out, I was 17, I couldn't stop listening to it. Today, so many years later, I was feeling frustrated as hell and this song started playing in my mind. Always loved it.
You're probably right. Paul Mac. Daniel is doing what makes him happy now though. For that, we should let the man be happy. It does mean the death of Silverchair. I can't STAND Daniel's new music!
If you look at the chord structure and middle 8 harmony it’s a song built by someone way ahead of his years He really is a wonderful musician and I’m very proud of him and that band too
Only a few musical geniuses come along per genre, per generation; Daniel Johns is one of those people. Simply incredible when you think of his progression with Silverchair. I would liken it to Billy Corgan, but in his own right mind. A true talent for the ages. I've been a fan from a young age and will remain a fan for life
Here in 2023…. Fell in love with this song in 2002, and it’s even more special today. Silverchair were the best. One of a kind. Their evolution so cool and unique to them. Daniel is one of the few great geniuses of our generation. We are so lucky to have these archives !!! ❤
I'm 19 it's 2019 😕 and this was in 2002 so many years passed.... It's hurts me that songs is isn't now..... I wish I can met silverchair to tell them how they are amazing, their music is perfect....... Damn this is only a dream.... 😢
THIS IS MY FAVOURITE SONG EVER!! What a beautiful performance!!!!! Gosh if i was at this concert i know i'd be bawling during this song! And it's even better live than on the studio album.
I can't watch this without feeling a pain in my chest, after Daniel explained everything he was going through at that time and on that show, that his colleagues didn't support him, and there were even people who suspected he wasn't sick. This angel doesn't deserve everything he's been through, but know that you are very loved, and whoever really loves you is here for you.
If you haven't noticed by now, he likes to wear sparkly, flashy outfits.. but that's just his style- obviously he isn't gay!! He's just naturally a soft-spoken and caring guy!
Never seen this live! Have to learn this! Thank you uploader! What a guitar performance by Daniel! How many people didn't know he was THIS GOOD on guitar??!
Em 2000, depois de ouvir Neon Ballroom, essa banda me trouxe de volta da alienação! Sou eternamente grato ao Silverchair. E esse tal de Daniel Johns canta e toca muito, esse puto!
can't think of anything that's better to do on my hour break from work than to watch this. i can take anything on now. including this shitty late night. thanks boys you rock.
@@revolutionize017 yeah I know the feeling, I've been listening to Silverchair since when I was 15 yo. I'm 33 now and it's still one of my fav bands. Rock on!
Diorama has aged like fine wine
Still my favorite Chair album
It just gets better the more I listen to it, even after all these years.
💗
Yep
@@StephanieDawson85 I see what you did there

I always lived a dilemma. 'Neon Ballroom' is my favourite, on overall. But 'Diorama' is so strong, so vibrant too. Love both so much.
Very well said.
100%
@@John008ification Same.
I agree, but Young Modern is where it peaked
the solo part of this song is one of the best moments in music history
yeah, its very Jimmy Page/Led Zeppelin-esque
I love it too that solo is whaou
Late on reply, but yes. The emotion just hits the feels with that overdrive.
@@mrunfausted7746 oh yeah!
And lyrics are great.
If UA-cam algorithms spent more time suggesting videos like this, the world would be a much calmer place... I'd forgotten how awesome Silverchair was.

Never liked Paul Mac. And still don't
Poor Paul Mac, leave the guy alone. I don't like his style also, but what happenes to Daniel was life. That's what happened.
2024 and I appreciate this album much more now than I did back in high school. And this song is a heavily underrated one, without a doubt.
Yup. All songs off diorama are underrated
