The first time I entered Void elf starting area I was baffled and amazed how unique this music piece was compared to *anything* in World of Warcraft. They captured the atmosphere perfectly while making a very out of the world-ly feeling.

its like the void is trying to mimic the sounds of what music sounds to them, its distorted and twisted in a way that sets the atmosphere/theme of the zone, blizzard art and music team are always top notch.

My very first blood elf in TBC was a warlock so this toon is quite the throwback. I don't remember why I even swapped mains in WotLK now but I'm playing that void elf more often now.

But f*** me, their music is good. And, though edgy, they look kinda neat. Also, their racial ability might be the coolest. Like, ever. I've rolled a void elf. My criticism still stands, but I am happy nevertheless.

They belong to the Horde thematically through and through, more so than the modern blood elves. But in the ideal world they should never have existed. The Alliance should have got half-elves instead or something

This was Blizzard's compromise to people's demands to High Elves. Lore wise there is no justification for High Elves to exist as a playable race because they either died off or became what is know today as blood elves. It's just funny how the Alliance of the old rejected them for being fel corrupted but now they messed with the magics of the void (which could be possible more dangerous) and Aundwin welcomes them back to the Alliance. That's like playing a forsaken death knight to be raised up by Arthas against your will just to fight free of that control again. Weird stuff but hey I love the aesthetic of the void elves and yes I know they are literary a reskin of blood elves.
@@Chittysushi They were never rejected because of the fel, Varian and Lor'themar were in good terms before siege of Orgrimmar, and.. they were talking about the sin'dorei rejoining the Alliance. The High elves are not dead. As an example the high elf population in the Alliance right now (wowwiki) is 20 000, 16 000 beeing the number of all races that are now in Orgrimmar. And yea.. the Alliance is not cool with the void elves. Try to enther the cathedral with one. And they really do make sense lore-wise if you pay attention :P
Just heard this as I have never played a void elf. Thank goodness for 10.2.7 questline because this theme rocks. Sounds so mysterious and fits the void perfectly and definitely has me hyped for War Within now!

The reason for them being part of the alliance is rather simple. Silvermoon exiled them and shunned them, Whereas the alliance, Under alleria's suggestion, Welcomed them. I suppose it would've made more sense simply to give the alliance high elves, But i think void elves are a fresh addition.
I've always played Horde, so I've not unlocked the blue team allied races. This music is lovely, even while the lore of the void elfs isn't really a thing ( considering they were only manufactured to balance out the Nightborne's acceptance into the Horde )
I as a void elf spent all my time in the rift while in BG quere, just embracing all the ambience, sitting at the edge of a cliff... Disgusted at the thought of while I'm sitting here, a fully armored void elf female warrior, sitting peacefully... There's other female void elves getting slapped around by a horsecocked draenei/nelf woman at goldshire...disgracing my people.

How can you not be exalted with them if you played Legion? It doesn't take that much effort. I'm a very casual player who plays a little now and then but I'm exalted with all major Legion factions on 2 characters.
If you look at the map, you can see there are some islands or pieces of land that you cant reach or go to yet. Whatever blizzard has in plan, they're probably gonna be in use some time in the future.

Actually, it's a small sect of blood elves who were banished from Silvermoon for studying the void. And if you really wanna get into it, the void elves are likely ex-sunreavers. After the purge of Dalaran, the sunreavers took up residence in Silvermoon. Aethas being forever at odds with Rommath, left the sunreavers feeling estranged from their kin and homeland. It makes sense for them to have delved into the void as a source of power to survive such troubled times, and push them into joining the alliance, just like Alleria.
That is true, Christian. There are also High Elves in Telogrus Rift. Meaning that they could also become Void Elves. I have no idea why, but a lot of people have no knowledge of this detail.

Afaik, you have to have the achievements for being exalted with the High Mtn, Nightborne, Argussion Reach, and the other one on Argus.

You technically can, next to the emissary theres a void portal that takes you right to there. You have to be a void elf to have access tho, obviously
