- Vic Damone singing 'I'm in love with love' and 'I cried for you' at Hollywood Palace hosted by Liz Montgomery in 1966.
I have also uploaded Vic Damone singing 'Bewitched' both as a solo and as a duet with Elizabeth Montgomery. I will add it as a video response! - Розваги
One of the world's greatest singers.
Never sang a bad song.
This is real talent.
I ALWAYS FELT HE DESERVED WIDER RECOGNITION!
A great rendition of an old favorite.... plus more.
Saw him in St David's hall Cardiff unforgettable no singer of that genre comes within a mile of him rip vic
The great Vic!
Vic was one of the best!!!
Underrated!!!
The Hollywood Palace was an hour-long American television variety show that was broadcast weekly Saturday nights (except September 1967 to January 1968, when it was seen Monday nights) on ABC from January 4, 1964, to February 7, 1970.
RIP Vic Damone
I shook his hand! Hope some of it wore off. Vic is not only one of the GREAT singers but he's also an excellent entertainer.
Best Wishes Mr. Damone!

Great Singer - Great first song!! And just awesome trumpets - Nice and tight. I love to listen to this version all day. Thanks
What a fantastic arrangement and band
Gorgeous voice and man!! Loved this!!
Class!
Vic Damone's voice was so beautiful. It gave you intense pleasure! He was really physically beautiful also! Even Sinatra said so. "God, Vic, you are so good looking..." (quoted by Damone himself in his memoir "Singing Was The Easy Part."). I sing myself and wrote him a sincere letter to Palm Beach telling him how much I loved his singing. He wrote back, sent a CD of his earlier hits and a signed 8x10 autographed picture inscribed:. "Tony, Keep Aiming High!". I loved several of his albums, including "That Damone Thing"! His fourth (?) wife Diahann Carroll was amused by his dazzling good looks. She remarked ..."And what a peacock (he was)! He used to LOVE walking red carpets...". So many people today must be so sad to lose him! Rest in Peace, Vic. He recorded "Maria" from West Side Story TWICE. (First in mono and later in stereo.). The mono version is the better with that marvelous little florid trill/ turn at the end! I loved him so much!
That is what you call breath control. I met Mr. Damone backstage at Carnegie Hall in the 90s when he did a concert sponsored by a Japanese corporation. He was very gracious and kind to shake hands with me and spend a moment speaking. He spoke of these wonderful songs and I told him they will live forever not to worry. He said thank you very much. Being a singer myself it was an incredible moment to shake hands with such an icon. Take care Vic.
i heard he was frank's understudy sometimes and i remember him him coming to britain and saying is best influence was frank sinatra, whether or not he was a great singer and will always be a legend as i'm concerned, wonderful voice and very smooth , love it
I wish they would re-release all of Vic's albums from the 70's-80's on CD. The songwriter's best friend. I will never understand why he never got his due except of course, for those in the know--us.
swingin, baby!!!
QUE GRATO ...SEGUIR CONOCIENDO GRANDES CANTANTES.....PARECE QUE ESTOY EMPEZANDO A VIVIR DE NUEVO............TANTO QUE UNO DESCONOCE.......Y CADA DIA QUE INTENTO BUSCAR ALGO EN UA-cam APARECEN NUEVOS PARA MI ....QUE SON ANTIGUOS PARA OTROS.....Y ESTO ES UN PLACER QUE TE CAGAS........
@catfish198 YES...!!! We can and will include Al Martino as well!!! He was just wonderful!!! Also,...it's my understanding that a man named "Jimmy Roselli" was a great one who never made it to the top sadly!!
He had a successful career as a singer and as an actor, has a star on Hollywood walk of fame.
magnifico...bravo bravo!
To me I first saw Vic when he guest starred as "Ric Vallone" on "The Dick Van Dyke Show", but I thought he looked like Bobby Darin.
no worries! :)
@makthnife; You are correct, that Charlie Rich was known as, "The Silver Fox."
Joe Parnello; Arranger, Conductor and Accompanist on piano for this video. Joe, later functioned same functions for Sinatra's version of " How Do You Keep The Music Playing" on "L.A. Is My Lady," CD.
RIP
Shit yeah!!
@IFINEVERSING Absolutely!!! But men like Vic and Jerry Vale did not play the "games" that the business wanted them to play!!......GOOD FOR THEM!
Burning arrangement...smokin' band.
In my opinion the best male vocal of that time, smoothe clean- Style, complete Talent. Very underrated - this is a fabulous arrangement and the band is phenomenal, but they're Dynamics are poor- too loud, overshooting the singer. 🎶😘😇💜
i think the silver fox was charlie rich
