- Eurovision 1999 Interview - Ofra Haza with Host and Interviewer Yoav Ginai on Douze Points (Twelve Points), the Israeli TV Channel 1 program that preceded their coverage of the 1999 Eurovision Song Contest held in the Usshishkin Hall at the International Convention Center in Jerusalem, Israel on Saturday, May 29, 1999.
Twenty-four years today, February 23rd, 2024, without your physical presence among us... and I still miss you. Thank you for being so special, dear Ofra Haza.
Her eyes do not only reflect sadness but also tormenting pain. Perhaps she was deep down carrying more than a human being can bear.
I completely agree. I see the same thing and attribute it the same tragic knowledge she feared sharing. If only she had! Treatment for that terrible disease, had become so successful even by the time she was infected. I suspect her husband warned her it would have spoiled her image but it was really HIS image it would have spoiled, and he knew it.
How greatly he would have been despised! And so rightly.
Extremely sad. She supposed to be happy, but the opposite was happening. If only she knew her fans would still love her, she might had treatment.
world's most beautiful woman till her last minute.
In every way?
I agree that she was a rare, exotic and very beautiful Isha, indeed. Fantastic voice.
She was sick. Her life was taken away because of her husband. She was a great beautiful lady. With a beautiful voice. I'm surprise she was able to do an interview
@@lishamarlar4597 Her husband : MORON ashkenazi
Elodie
I don't understand anything, but I just love looking at her, at her beautiful face, her expressive eyes and listening to her voice.
Same with .eI speak English not He rew but her voice as well as face is beautiful one of a kind esp her voice angelic Deliver Us and sad but holy "In NIN ALU"
Ofra is a legend. love from greece.
Ofra Haza wasn't interested in greece people.. But Türkiye yeah😉
@@ekersmade4649 i have no hate for turkey, so i will not anwer.
This was 9 months before she died. It seems the sickness had already set in, she looks very tired. How terrible that this sweet and still young lady had to die....
I had the same impression
So sad if she did die of AIDS, there was advanced treatment by 2000 and the disease ceased to be a death sentence.
@@sylviamaua745 Yes, I read/heard she felt so embarrassed/ashamed that she had contracted aids and for her to have to admit it was a taboo, it would give her a bad name. What a pity ....
the most beautiful voice in alllllllllllllll the world!!!!!
Gosh what a beautiful lady . Just one year before she passed away . God Bless Ofra . Very sad . Rest in peace lovely lady . 🇮🇱🙏
Just 8 or so months prior to her death =/
@@talcohen4144 Yes so sad . ❤️🇮🇱
Ofra Haza's Heart was beat it for JEMEN and JEMEN PEOPLE but not israel. So why you use this Flag?😉
@@ekersmade4649 Her family was from the Yemen 🇾🇪, but Ofra had an Israeli passport . 🇮🇱🇮🇱
@@maureenhenderson720 wow🤦🏻♂️
You wouldn’t even think she was dying. She was absolutely gorgeous and so full of life. The only thing I notice is although she’s smiling her eyes show sadness.
Her shity huzband killed her!!!
No matter what, she is loved, I just recently discovered her music, and I love her already. Knowing the story behind. She did not deserve a life of sadness, she deserves better. It is really heartbreaking. A great lost not just for Israel, but also for the world. A beautiful soul. She should have chosen treatment, Her fans would still love her, Imagine people loving her long after she was gone, But what ever happened happened already. She will remain Ofra Haza, a beautiful soul that will still be heard singing long before all of us alive today are gone.
She's really a great singer
Thankyou for making that clear. Sometimes wonderful poeple get taken away what seems to us too soon.May be she was needed on the other side.
He did not deserve a lovely girl. But no man deserved her. Lovely Ofra.
Really beautiful lady
Beautiful Ofra....💗
I have looked at this a lot ,because as an ofra fan for just over 3 years it is a clip of her in the last year of her earthly life.I take note of the above comment that her eyes are sad,but physically she looks healthy and strong.
Can there possibly be any truth in the conspiracy theory that she was murdered?.
What ever happened,God knows and she is safe in the keeping of the God of Israel in whom she trusted and believed.
I love to listen to her voice on the interviews.her voice is so sweet.
I guess she was ill but was enough tough and smart to hide this. Her death is a mystery. It doesn't make sense to me that she died from the disease (aids). I assume that her husband and her doctor tried to prevent her to reveal something secret she knew( about illegal adoptions of children)and they try to weaken her and caused her to die .
Thank you so much.
Escucho cantar a OFRA HAZA, Y CREO QUE NUNCA VA A MORIR, SOLO MUEREN LOS QUE SON OLVIDADOS, OFRA ES COMO CARLITOS GARDEL, CADA DIA CANTA MEJOR, SHALOM A OFRA HAZA.🎵🎶🎼
Thank you for this
che bella donna
Unfortunately, Ofra says here that she is on recordings in London, so she is unable to get to the studio, but the truth is that she is at home in the city of Yahud, already suffering from AIDS. And really a year later Ofra passed away in February 2000. May your memory be blessed
She very well could have actually been in London. She recorded a song there in 1999.
It was confirmed after her death that it was a cover up. @@rpvee
@@uri0606it was alie . She was in Herzelia in the house she and doron moved to street moshe 19 herzelia.

she knew she was sick here probably, her eyes shut down
Yes, she already knew it’s also the last time she was seen in public
Dolce angelo!!!!!! Indimenticabile
Ugh I miss her so much.
She looks so sad. I see her smile but her eyes says something else
Merried wrong guy
Now we know that she wasn't in London. She was in Israel, in her home, so sick.
@@naamaserri9085 She did travel to London a couple of times in 1999 to record her last album that she never managed to finish.
Truthfully
Yes, the eyes dont lie.
The most "Good Evening" I ever heard in my life. So beautiful and elegant voice!
Respect from Nyc to imagine the pain she’s in that interview and yet she caries on and endures staring directly at you. I know God comforted her through it all.
Heartbreakingly sad and yet so brave and inspiring.
Obviously showing the effects of her growing illness --- the once radiant eyes tired and melancholy, the once flawless complexion looking sallow.
Nevertheless, Ofra had the courage and determination to appear on screen and share happy memories of what was a pivotal and defining event in her career.
It says a lot for her spirit that she was still able to treat us to flashes of that famous smile.😊
When watching the Eurovision Song Contest later this week, I will be remembering Ofra ❤
Even though all this had been held private, note the following for reference: "In December 2007, Israel's Channel 10 disclosed the previously confidential medical records of Haza and Ashkenazi, affirming that the former contracted the virus between 1995 to 1997 and the latter between 1992 to 1993. The two met in 1996. "
I wonder if she realized she had tested positive and thus that she would never dare to bear a child for fear of transmitting the virus to it. That alone, after so many years of waiting and dreaming would have led to great sadness. And, of course, so much else she would have had to come to terms with - plus, physical suffering. She can't have held much if any love for him once she realized he had transmitted it to her in the first place, however much he doubtless denied knowing it. What a catastrophic breach of trust!
A movie about her life said she was pregnant, in the 3th month when she died.
The virus is not gentic so the child that will be born won't carry the virus.
^I just looked it up and the virus is not genetic, yes, but apparently it can indeed transfer from mother to child..
Anyway, what's the name of the movie about her life? I'd love to see it if it's possible
What has this got to do with a interview about the Eurovision Song Contest? Let her rest in peace.
She said in this interview that she was in London but it was later revealed that this wasn’t true and she was actually at her house in Israel.. so sad that she had to hide her sickness
She was in London, she was indeed recording an album at tis time.
Poor Ofra. Their is pain in those eyes.
Hear, my brethren, I am still alive, and my two eyes, still bearing light, many thorns within me, but also my flowers, and before me many years before
Many finches
But also flowers
And countless years ago
IM asking
And prays
It's good that I've not lost any more hope
Passes a hymn
from generation to generation
As a spring from everlasting to everlasting
IM asking
And prays
It's good that I've not lost any more hope
Live, live, live
Yes, I'm still alive
This is Grandpa's song
Sang to Dad yesterday
And today I am
I'm still alive, alive, alive
Israel Lives
This is Grandpa's song
Sang to Dad yesterday
And today I am
Sea Humble (Live Live)
And nights (live live)
And in the sky the pillar of fire is still rising
Sing without enough (Chai Chai)
I will retire by (Chai Chai)
To my friend who is crossing the sea
IM asking
And prays
It's good that I've not lost any more hope
Live, live, live
Yes, I'm still alive
This is Grandpa's song
Sang to Dad yesterday
And today I am
I'm still alive, alive, alive
Israel Lives
This is Grandpa's song
Sang to Dad yesterday
And today I am
Hear my brother
I'm still alive
And two more eyes are raised to the light
So so cheeky
To all guests
And to my sons who wish to return
I ask (I ask)
And prays (prays)
It's good that I've not lost any more hope
Live, live, live
Yes, I'm still alive
This is Grandpa's song

Eurovision 1999 Interview - Ofra Haza
este vídeo es a a sólo un año de su vida.
In this month, maybe a few days, a few weeks earlier, in May 1999, Ofra learned about the diagnosis 😥🖤🖤🖤
That was her last interview... she was already struggling with health issues in here. that's why she actually didn't attend the studio where this show was filmed.
um fenome amo ela
I think you mean,[without any visible signs],but I see what you say. What I know about Ofra is only in the comments. So I gather she got from her husband.I do not see the sincerity in him that I see in her,so I tend to believe the comments.Look at her sing 'Kaddish' to see the lovely person she is.
Her husband killed her. Knowing he was infected. I like to have the book her ex manager wrote. Her husband wanted what she had. She was beautiful and I loved her voice. He had so many years to live. He took her life away.
her husband dont want to take her to hospital,if it didnt insisted by her sisters
Why you put the title in eglish and there is not subtitles???

It's so heart breaking she refused AIDS treatment because she was too proud, and too ashamed... She could've lived at least 10-15 years longer, had she agreed to start treatment. She felt she was done, hence the pain her eyes... 😢💔
It’s the last time she was seen in public :(
She doesn't really look ill. So sad.
I am.so sorry dor her😟
she really look beutifuul like always but she isnt look happy like always

Kocham Cię Ofra !!!! :(((( Dorota Poland
I just can't buy the theory that Ofra haza died because of shame....She was a positive confident lady who had a lot of love(lust)for life and achievements.....even in her final years, she was composing songs preparing for an album......so,I will never accept that she hid her illness and preferred to die.......there is conspiracy behind her demise.......only God knows....

There are conspiracies talking about the whole case of the kidnapped Yemeni children that she tried to expose, whether it's true or not nobody really knows for sure , but she was indeed murdered with the help of some very evil people, at least the people who knew her all her life say that in the last months of her life she wasn't acting like herself and her husband forbade her from seeing her friends and family, he was hiding her from them , it's mostly his fault and the morbid woman doctor who gave her all those bootleg pills she didn't even know what she's doing, and when she was finally collapsing in the hospital and the real Doctos asked the bootleg doctor if she knows about her background she refused to answer claiming she doesn't want to violate a patient's confidentiality but she was already dying and could be saved, they chose to kill her .
to be honest she doesn't look that sick , i mean have you seen Freddie Mercury's last music videos?
I hear you calling Marian yes also rock hudson
Beautiful dark middle eastern looks.
It's interesting to see how English has infiltrated modern Israeli Hebrew, even to the point of using English words and slogans (in Roman script) alongside the Hebrew script

Here she was very ill knowing she had aids
I think here she is already affected by illness...she looks fade
