@UCHcqBu8iBsOIBLiLv3nbtIw The Hall just makes weird decisions sometimes. At the time Shannon Sharpe retired he was #1 in receptions, yards, and TDs for tight ends in addition to having three rings with two teams. He still had to wait five years after he was eligible to get in. That just doesn't make sense.

what he did that stood out... most guys now catch, and GO! they just think on the fly, once they catch it, they just start running and choose what to do. While Hester would catch the ball, freeze for a split second, and in that second he scans the whole field, and what the best route is, then GO. Once he starts his return he already scanned the field, picked the TD route. Thats why youd never see him really juking around, or standing in same spot. Whats he god, its a non stop, smooth route to the TD. Extremely impressive!

As others said, it is not true. The rules were changed because of the Bills player who was paralyzed and how it has been proven that kick returns are significantly more dangerous than any other play in football.
They really should change the rule to 4th and 15 from the 35 with the option for teams to go for it and/or fake the punt... or 4th and 20 from the 30 if it is too easy.
Punts are much safer than kickoffs and more interesting. Hester was a better punt returner, as they even mentioned in this video, farmore of his returns came off of punts than just a few kicks.

What a spectacle he was. No one really talks about the great exit he had from the game, when he was with the Seahaks. Way past his prime, he did all he could to keep the Seahawks in the game against the Falcons. He took out kicks from the back of the endzone. What a performance.

A friend of mine said you dont know who 'Devin Hester' is. I was unaware. I do remember watching some clips on UA-cam and I was sold. I have an autographed Hester and an autographed Sayers jersey and next to my kids, I'm getting them out in a fire. I know Devin will never read this but if you do, there is a small fan base that you have inspired of 20 Canadians. Most of which have found new teams, including the Pack (ugh), but it is all because of what you did. Thanks so much. :)
