Years ago, I was a young nurse working the evening shift in a hospital Pediatric unit. I would get home - usually after midnight - some of those shifts were very long - and, exhausted, I'd lay down on the sofa and put this record on the turntable. It was so exhilarating and yet calming at the same time. I would soon forget all the problems and difficulties I had just been through and would enter the peaceful place this music took me. I have never forgotten it. Such a long time ago by earthly standards - nearly 50 years ago now. But I know now that God is "BE", God is "LOVE". That is what this music and Neil's words taught me.
I'll have to leave this body behind soon and I'm looking forward to it. This piece of music told me that all of what we experience is not it. I'm confident that where I (my real "I") is going home. Thank you so much for your comment

The ocean was silver and flat as glass.It was awesome! Of course we were enjoying some excellent Maui bud and Mateus wine. Was my lady's favorite song and mine also, good memories!

I was a young man from the south and ventured to the city , a country bumpkin . I didn't even realize it until THIS very moment Johnathon had already taken flight within my soul . After marriage and one child and a boring , never ending job , I read the book Johnathon Livingston Seagull , early 70's . I couldn't function in the norm any longer . My heart and will to succeed had been ignited . I joined the Navy and went to sea with Johnathon overhead and within . After three years on the water and in foreign lands I traded the lust to soar high into the unknown for the presence of God's Holy Spirit that took me high above any physical barrier that Johnathon could ever have imagined . I believe Johnathon's desire for perfection and freedom is a place within us all where flesh can mesh with the Heavenly Spirits and ignites the desire to soar high above and into the heart of God . The book , the movie and the spiritual awakening changed my life forever . Once I had achieved my desire to soar , I realized it was only a precursor to my true calling to happiness and freedom and there He was , " GOD " ! Somewhere in the middle of it all Heaven and earth collided and I am left with this story to share with You . May God bless all His creations and those willing to chase the future encased within His will which is necessary to sustain the flight . Without Him we are just a sitting duck .

I can never understand why people find seagulls to be unwelcome when,let's face it any inland activity is through our own habits,leading them to seek food wherever it may be available be it on purpose or by littering! However,personally,to be in the garden on a sun lounger or on a beach,looking up at a cloudless blue sky and seeing silver-white flashes hovering above is simply beautiful,giving a sense of serenity and peace,making me smile every time. Summer is all things lovely and seagulls aloft is one of them without doubt. Can you ever imagine a blue,blue sky without a Jonathan Livingston Seagull?! I was a young man from the south and ventured to the city , a country bumpkin . I didn't even realize it until THIS very moment Johnathon had already taken flight within my soul . After marriage and one child and a boring , never ending job , I read the book Johnathon Livingston Seagull , early 70's . I couldn't function in the norm any longer . My heart and will to succeed had been ignited . I joined the Navy and went to sea with Johnathon overhead and within . After three years on the water and in foreign lands I traded the lust to soar high into the unknown for the presence of God's Holy Spirit that took me high above any physical barrier that Johnathon could ever have imagined . I believe Johnathon's desire for perfection and freedom is a place within us all where flesh can mesh with the Heavenly Spirits and ignites the desire to soar high above and into the heart of God . The book , the movie and the spiritual awakening changed my life forever . Once I had achieved my desire to soar , I realized it was only a precursor to my true calling to happiness and freedom and there He was , " GOD " ! Somewhere in the middle of it all Heaven and earth collided and I am left with this story to share with You . May God bless all His creations and those willing to chase the future encased within His will which is necessary to sustain the flight . Without Him we are just a sitting duck .
