    Great Video! Thanks. The only thing u didn't mention is there's a tiny little black plastic shroud (for lack of a better term) that goes over the microphone. This has to be removed from the original part and transplanted to the new part. Mine wouldn't stick after I took it off. I took a very small piece of 2 sided scotch tape and stuck it between the two parts to hold it in place and it worked great! hope that little tip helps somebody. Make sure the hole in the plastic shroud lines up with the hole for the microphone! Thanks again!

    Hi, Thanks for the video. I have replaced the charging port. The mic was working fine before. Now, the charging port is working but the mic is very low. Caller can barely hear me. If i use the headphone, they can hear me well .I tested with Memo and looks like it records the same way. No sound was recorded with the bottom mic but it records well with a headphone plugged in. Does anyone know what is the problem with it? Thank you.

    Nice video, very instructive! Any chance you could point out a place where I could buy the little black plastic spacer that is ''glued'' to the microphone? You know that black part with a pin sticking out and keeping the mic a certain distance from the phone's body? I changed the flex and accidently threw that part away.... Thanks!

      +Tommy Beaulieu The only thing I can find is if you use the link in the video description for the microphone part and once you're there change the search to iphone 6 plus microphone boot holder and see what comes up. They seem to be hard to come by.

    My cousin got this cable changed, but mic still not working, tested with skype echo service, and it does not hear anything, but if I unscrew and lift up the screen and talk into the phone, i can get it to hear it low.
    Unlucky with the replacement cable or any other experiences to share?

    • @SmartEasyDIYer
      @SmartEasyDIYer  7 років тому

      +ryvaenge It sounds like they didn't redo it properly.

      I have ordered a new cable, even the headphone jack wasnt working properly. Maybe it was to cheap, ordered original this time.
      It is no other parts that are critical for the microphone to work?

    • @SmartEasyDIYer
      @SmartEasyDIYer  7 років тому

      +ryvaenge That should be it as far as I know. As long as it's connected properly once installed.

    Why to buy whole part, when just mic not working very well!??? Can I replace just mic??

    • @SmartEasyDIYer
      @SmartEasyDIYer  5 років тому

      No because the mic is built into the whole part so you have to replace the whole part.

    Hello, I'm looking for the torx screwdriver and I'm having a hard time finding one. I see there are different styles like hexagonal, star shaped, which would it be? Also in the tool kit you recommended I dont see any torx screwdriver but a pentalobe one? If you could clarify that for me I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for making this video!

    • @user-su5ez6gp8l
      @user-su5ez6gp8l 7 років тому

      Also is the pentalobe/torx screwdriver only used for the two bottom screws while the Phillips is the one used on the inside? Thank you!

    • @SmartEasyDIYer
      @SmartEasyDIYer  7 років тому

      +Ernest Quant Yes the torx pentalobe bit is the same one. Different places call it different names.

    • @SmartEasyDIYer
      @SmartEasyDIYer  7 років тому

      +Ernest Quant that is correct.

    • @orcoastgreenman
      @orcoastgreenman 5 років тому +1

      Torx is 6 pointed, pentalobe is 5 pointed. Not interchangable. Only the two case screws by the lightning connector use those pentalobe screws. Once you are inside it’s all tiny phillips heads as far as as I know.
