same edit: j just got a replacement iphone 8 so the mic works now again of course. i think my mic stopped working before because i dropped my phone so many times without a case or screen protector
Yh i found out the mic was absolutely and completely broken and i had to get a new one, though it did work for a while longer when i put the headphone Jack in slowly and carefully. Hope all of you find whats wrong with yours and are able to fix them. Stay safe! 😁💜

If anybody has this issue try this. If you can talk to Siri and record anything on voice memos but when talking to someone on the phone it starts to make weird noises, there is a small issue. Try to off phone noise cancellation(accessed through settings then general and accessibility)then restart your phone. Your mic should work. My son has an iPhone 7 and he had the same issue. He followed these steps and his mic is working now when talking too through a call.

My iPhone 5 SE requires me to have my headphones plugged in in order for callers or people I call to hear me... more than a little frustrating, especially when its your old mother calling and wanting to see and listen to the whole family... one at a time please. I'll give the air duster a try but the General menu on this phone is not the same as I saw on the phone you were using as a demo. Any specific ideas on this for my phone please? Use alcohol (95% ethanol) on a wet wipes (they won't tear) and just rub the speakers at the top/back and the microphone/usb-jack and it will do amazing. I saw it in a video by "Tim Wetzel" - it helped so much. I thought I would have to replace my galaxy s5 -because the mic didn't work. Just clean it - that's the fix !!!!

Guys try reebooting your phone and call *#31# ... i had the same problem as you guys and it worked for me... I would also advise you guys to try recording using earphones.... if it still doesn't record then problem is not with your microphone cause earphones have built in microphones and if they dont work then it means there is something wrong with the system....
I dropped my phone and the screen cracked but so I’m not sure if I should go to a place to get it fixed. In videos there is no sound and the volume button when you are recording a video to mute the sound it is just muted and the color is gray. TSA Master no it's not a joke because microphones are very sensitive especially phone mics and you could damage the mics diaphragm because it is extremely small

@@fineas4 the problem was solved... it is not the phone`s problem. It is a settings problem in Telegram app.. Change the spee in the Telegram app or any app that you hear so.

It seems like using compressed air might jam up the microphone even worse if it is blown INTO the microphone in an effort to clean it.

Could be permissions. If you deny microphone access when you get an app, the mic won’t work until you turn it back on.

TSA Master no it's not a joke because microphones are very sensitive especially phone mics and you could damage the mics diaphragm because it is extremely small

when on a call sometimes people can here me sometimes not. Its an iPhone 6. It comes and goes. using the speakers works sometimes and using headphones works sometimes. nothing seems to be consistent in the problem. I can hear them.

My rear mic on my iPhone 6 isn't working. The other two mics work just fine but when I tried to record using my rear camera my mic doesn't pick anything up. Do you have any suggestion that could help fix it?

@@fineas4 the problem was solved... it is not the phone`s problem. It is a settings problem in Telegram app.. Change the spee in the Telegram app or any app that you hear so.
Basically I replaced battery and screen on iphine 8 plus and now bottom micraphone ,loudspeaker is not Working and it's not charge
Top speaker is works fine So not sure waht do do now
