The problem is that i have an iphone 6plus 16gb and it have the icloud lock, ive been searching this month how to fix it and i was almost making a big mistake sending my imei to those scam websites that say we will unlock your iphone by sending imei to us and theres a price by 30$, but they are totally thieves. I saw a video on youtube that exposed them and i realised that is no way to fix my phone. Casually i clicked in the "Up next" video that was yours and when i finish watching it i was very relieved. I guess that ill buy an motherboard and ill try to fix my iphone. Lastly i just want to say thank you!

This video was great for helping me get through replacing the logic board. My main problem was that I expected to be able to just buy a logic board online for cheap and do the replacement. Contrary to the optimistic expectation, the $10 logic board that anyone (such as myself) can buy online will not come with any of the necessary board components soldered on.. it's just a blank board :(. So, to anyone wanting to replace your phone's logic board, make sure you have a true replacement logic board-- not a bare one!!

Thank you for this great source of information. I do still have a few questions though. Allow me to explain my situation.
I accidentally bent my iPhone 6. A few days later my screen turned black. But when I try to recharge it, it does vibrates. I brought it to a repairstore and there they told me the motherboard was broken and they cannot repair it. After watching your video it seems relatively easy to repair it. But here follow the questions:
- Is it possible to put a new motherboard in a bend phone ? Or should I replace the case aswell?
- Where do I buy a motherboard? On eBay and Amazon they are that cheap (less than 20 dollars) that I am afraid it will not work.
- What does ''no IC component'' mean ? It says it in the amazon description of the motherboard.
- Will these eBay/amazon motherboards from the US work in Europe, Belgium ?

Where did you buy the motherboard?
I have a 6+ with damaged pads on the pcb at the fpc connector for touch screen. can I swap the parts from my logic board to a different one and would a locked or bad imei board work if I did the swap.also would I lose my pictures. thank you
+Erik Nelson Yes your pics would stay on your old board unless you swap memory. I'm not sure which chip that is. Also you would need to swap the right chip from your old board that has the imei on it to get away from iCloud lock from your new board. Not sure how the chips work I don't get into the soldering stuff.

Hi. I had a similar issue on my 6 plus and it was the connector on the motherboard for the Touch. Nothing I did seemed to help except yes changing the board. I have a link in the video description below the video where you can find some sometimes. It varies quite a lot what’s available. Try to find one with original home button for Touch ID to work.

Hi I would check the connection in those places. Make sure it’s connected properly. It sounds like a connection issue to me.

Yes it does if the board you’re putting into it doesn’t have iCloud. You’ll need the home button touch ID that comes with that board as well if you want touch ID to work correctly.

Hi, the philip screw drivers you mentioned is size 0, and the other is size 000. But the link you provided has the smallest size .08, and they look rather big. Will they fit?

Thanks. You will want to back up your phone to iTunes before removal and when you get the board in out of a different phone etc then it should have iOS 8 or newer on it with this model phone. You should be able to restore your existing information off of iTunes then on the new board. Something I've learned since is you will want the home button Touch ID out of the phone that your board comes out too or your Touch ID won't work from what I'm hearing. Like they are paired together with the board. The home button will work just not the fingerprint scanner part.

hi great video very informational, so today i took my phone to get repaired and the guy told me my logic board needs replacing because the connector ribbons and port to the screen got wet and it looks like it got fried. he it was expensive like $300. but watching this and your links show it pretty cheap to fix. but what will happen if i get a new logic board? once i install it do i have to do anything special? like program it or something? not really sure what a logic board is at that. lol sorry for the noob questions. just a guy tryin to save money.

Are we supposed to get a bare logic board? I see that the bare ones do not have the metal pieces on them like the one that came out of your phone. Will we just put the old ones on the new bare logic board?

Yes if you swap the logic board with one that has a clean imei then it should work since the imei follows the logic board.. You should try to get the Touch ID button that paired with the board swapped with the board you replace too cuz otherwise your Touch ID won't work from what I understand.
Hi I have this blacklisted iPhone 6s. My old iPhone 6s doesn't turn on anymore, would changing the board onto the blacklisted iPhone give it the same problem? Also, is there soldering involved if I do switch them out? Is it possible to just switch the boards by putting them in place and screwing everything up?
+Nathan Macintosh There's a chance that the board is an at fault with it not turning on. So it probably would be worth swapping the boards and seeing what happens. No you don't have to do any soldering you can just swap them out.

Yes if your new motherboard is clean of iCloud lock. It'll follow the board.

My question is if i switch out the logic boards will the 6s+ sprint become a t-mobile (icloud unlocked phone) and will I be able to use it with t-mobile? or is the carrier not gonna work since I put it into a sprint carrier phone . Well yes it would if you get a clean motherboard that is the carrier you need and memory size you need and doesn't have iCloud lock on it too... There's no apparent damage. I've just bought a new camera and as soon I replace it, I'll post the results.

Hello, I am currently having an issue with my iPhone 6 plus due to grey flickering lines coming from the top of the screen. Whenever that happens, it makes my phone unresponsive (nothing works). I took it to Apple and they would charge $329. I then went to a great repair shop (based on reviews) and the guy said it was a motherboard issue, he said the motherboard was cracked and they could not fix that. He would apply pressure on both ends of the screen and that would produce the grey flickering lines. He said the screen was perfectly fine. Do you know if doing this would solve that issue? Maybe you've seen this issue before? You can literally search "iphone 6 plus grey flickering lines" and you'll see what I'm talking about. Thanks!
+Gybran Somoza It sounds more like a screen is sure to me than a motherboard issue. But maybe it's the connector for the screen on the board. I've never personally experienced it though no.

If i change the logic board/motherboard, does it get me the Touch ID back?? I was changing the screen one time and i cut the cabble on the heat plate that connects to the home button... I bought another heat plate and the button works, but when i try to use Touch ID i don't even get the "Failed" screen. It just stays in the "Touch ID Configuration" page where you would put your finger in the Home button to configure... But it doesn't read

RKADE101 you would have to make sure the motherboard you get comes With the SAME home button that went with it from factory otherwise the Touch ID will not work!.

Good video but i got stuck at the screws on the side ( towards the top and the “flat screws”. Sucks because it felt like I’ve removed 1000 screws and parts already, almost at the end and suddenly the tools I’ve used so far don’t work anymore. I don’t want to order Another tool set from Amazon with these tiny pieces laying around the house. Obviously I’m the only one that has this issue?

If your old phone is icloud locked when you move all the chips it should still icloud locked because the locking codes are on your chips. how do you do this?
Yes. The only way I know is to get a good used one or something that isn't iCloud locked.

Smart Easy Repair my 64gb iphone 6 plus went into the water when i was going for swimming, and a few minutes after I realized that my phone followed me going into the swimming pool, several silver lines appeared on the screen. It automatically turned off a few minutes later. Actually, this heartbreaking tragic happened last 2 years ago and when i sent it to the phone service shop, they said my phone's motherboard has rusted because of the water that went into the phone. +dasdasdas dasdasdas Yes the first thing to do would be to dry out the phone. you could try the overnight in a bag of rice trick you can Google it. Then what I would do is take your phone apart and make sure there's no moisture inside especially on all the connections they like to get corroded. I use a baby bristle toothbrush and electrical connectors cleaner that's alcohol based and gently clean the connections if there is any corrosion going on.

I don't think there's a way to know without opening up the phone.

Thanks so much! I’m glad it went well. On the vibrator it may not be stuck down well if the adhesive got too messed up. You could get some new adhesive and redo just that part sometime.

+Mannish Mania I'm honestly not sure how it would do on a fake one. If it's the same inside all the screw holes lineup then it should fasten in there. You have to transfer everything over though.

+Chaz Vaughn It may be a connection problem on the LCD itself. I would double check your connections before trying to replace the motherboard. Was it dropped or something before this?
Smart Easy Repair yes the screen is cracked , and its not letting me slide or touch anything, unresponsive, I thought it was just the screen Buh when I tries to get it fixed he said its something wrong with your motherboard
