    I just bought 2 more wire racks at Target in addition to the other 10 for my 3 car garage. The 5 shelf racks cost $70 each & the wheels cost $22+. As a widow, I prefer racks on wheels to make access easier to/fix check my furnace, A/C pipes, fuse panel, sprinkler system, garage door opener, as well as keep everything nice & tidy including tools.Tradesmen also like them. Makes spraying the garage floor quick & easy. One of the best things my late husband made me his helper to teach me about our vehicles & all tools while helping him make repair as well make runs to Home Depot or Auto Zone. Our sons were young when he was killed by a road rage driver on his way home. Popular widow saying is, everything breaks once the husband dies. Thank God he looked out for us! I've had too many rip off situations - he warned me of them rascals!

    Best review I’ve seen in quite awhile. Any type of question I might have had when making this type of purchase was answered in your review. As a girl who knows VERY little about these types of purchases, I appreciated the breakdown and key factors to keep in mind for my needs. I also cannot say enough about how valuable the practical example of weight was. I moved house and have been staying with family until the market dips, so majority of my stuff is in storage. This review gave me the perfect excuse to purchase some shelves and save myself a monthly storage fee. Bless you!

    In defense of the Style Selections-type: This particular model is a 'residential' as opposed to a 'commercial' model. The 'commercial' model is 18-24" wide by 36-48" long. The wires that constitute the shelf go the other direction on 'commercial' models and give it a better strength. Also, you can get rolling wheels to replace the adjustable feet which gives you the ability to move the unit without having to unload it. Hooks are available to slide onto the outside edge of the shelves and they are very handy for hanging items on the sides of the unit. They are known by the "NSF" brand. I have located mine through resale. I have some of both the commercial and residential. They work well for me. I also purchased one similar to the Edsal. It is a workhorse but it was hard to assemble by myself and I wouldn't put it in a location where it would be freestanding. It resides with the longest side against a wall to help it remain stable. Thanks for the review.

      Do you know if Lowe’s or Home Depot sell the commercial Style Selections?

    • @teresacoffman5529
      @teresacoffman5529 3 роки тому +1

      @@aayotechnology I do not know if they sell the commercial model. I would have to see it. Residential has long wires going the length of the shelf. Commercial has the wires running the width (or shorter) of the shelf. I believe you can get the commercial through Uline.com. Their shipping is pricey but you get it within 2-3 days. I have also seen them on websites that sell to retail stores. Your best bet is to keep an eye out for retail stores that are closing their storefront. If they are liquidating their assets then they are selling everything, including store fixtures.

    Love the video! I found the craftsman on sale at Lowe’s for $50 and this was extremely helpful in determining if it was worth it. I think at $50 it is for my needs. I love that the video was straight forward and gave all the info in a quick and concise format. No filler; just the info I needed! Thanks!

    1 thing missing in your reviews, though an excellent & useful side-by-side comparison on a variety of options!!!...👏🏽... The capacity to adjust the metal shelves over the set internal height of the plastic ones is important if you have items, Boxes, or bins of variable height.

    • @granjmy
      @granjmy Рік тому

      I hadn't thought of that, but you are exactly right. Also, if people want strong wire shelving, I suggest NSF standard. Seville Classics sells that. Very strong shelves, if you get the right ones.

  • @azteacher26
    @azteacher26 3 роки тому +4

    Both the commander and craftsman will bow in a hot garage or shed. Even under light weight. I've lost a lot of money learning this. They are probably fine though for indoors or cooled garages. Also with the plastic you really want light weight stuff on the upper half of the rack.

    • @BlairMountainNetwork
      @BlairMountainNetwork Рік тому

      Yup!... & the benefit to the metal ones also are adjustable height shelves (if you have varied height totes & Items) whereas you're stuck with 1 height on the plastic ones.

  • @healthierandhappieryou5374
    @healthierandhappieryou5374 2 роки тому +1

    I find that plastic ones will sag after long periods with heavy items, as well as the wood board ones. The L shaped racks with the holes for holding the shelfs are not strong enough, because of being L shaped they are not structurally strong, little support, they will eventually bend. I had one of my racks with attached wheels. All the shelfs where full with light to semi -heavy full totes. I bumped one of the wheels and the metal bent and everything came tumbling down. the style selection wire racks, are the sturdiest I have, as the frame is made up of , basically, pipes, which is a very strong structure. The shelfs can sometimes be hard to put in place and if bumped up, can unhook the shelf and it will come down, but none of the other racks, are very easy to put together neither and the fact that the wire racks hold so strong, are the better option, if you are dealing with heavy totes. Just as a note, you can get 48x24x72 size wire racks, which are the same size as the bigger ones he has here, and if you are not setting thin items individually on the racks, the wire racks are the better option. I have tried all these different types, and the wire racks are overall the sturdiest, you can get them with wheels, or add wheels to them, and when you need to move a heavy rack, you will have a very hard time, if the rack doesn't have wheels.

    Hey! You seem like a channel looking for feedback, so I want to give you some. Overall, I think you did a great job. The only improvement I can think of is the organization of presentation when you tell us something and the order you tell us in, how you're categorizing without skipping around. Thank you for your video and I hope your family is doing well during these times.

      You never know when you need to move a whole rack. I had and know need to again, get racks with wheels, because things have changed and the racks need to be moved to a different location. The job is made much, much easier, if you can just move the whole rack.

    no way any of those shelves or any of them hold the max weight at 1000 pounds. those numbers are overrated big time. They hold a decent amount but not super weight.

    • @shopwarrior1835
      @shopwarrior1835  3 роки тому

      Yes! very true. And it depends on how the weight is distributed on the shelf.

    • @azteacher26
      @azteacher26 3 роки тому

      This is so true. Also something not covered in this video is moving the thing around empty. If you empty the shelf and try to move it across the garage and it gets bent or falls apart you just pissed a lot of money away.
