Don't Give Away on the First of May - Folklore from Counties Wexford, Tipperary and Mayo.

This compilation was compiled for a screening for Deirdre O'Mahony and the XPO space in Kilnaboy in Co. Clare in 2008.
The compilation features clips from five collections: A Walk in the May Dew (North Tipperary), Eggs in the Drill (South Tipperary), That's What We Were Told Anyway (Wexford), Spoken Treasure (Wexford) and Following the Whitethorn (Mayo).
All collections were recorded and produced by Michael Fortune and limited edition DVD's were produced of each.

We were taught if any bird gets inside the house, it means there'll be a death in the family - same thing if you hear a dog howling under the porch. I absolutely follow the old superstitions I learned as a child!
