Rosslare Harbour (1962 - 1992) - From the Tess Coady Archive

Here is a video that some people around Rosslare Harbour might find of interest. It is a digitised copy of cine-reel that was filmed by the late Tess Coady between 1962 and 1992. The footage is unreal and ranges from the Blessing of the Boats in 1964 to a great clip of young female mummers in action outside the Railway Club in 1980.
I could write paragraphs on what I can see but I am sure it will mean a lot more to the local people as it is full of faces and places. I was given this footage on a VHS back in 2008 when working with a group called Documenting Rosslare. I think the footage was transferred by Denis Cadogan and it was himself who put the music to it. I have left it as it was on the VHS and I'm sure locals will really see the value in this. Fair dues to Tess for having the foresight to record this as it's an invaluable local record.
