i think the beautiful part of the hanger isn't just the ships that you can take with you but the ships that can land to deliver cargo and ferry troops with ease aswell
The terrapin fitting makes me think what would be really cool is if you could use it to extend the range of the torpedo's. Keep the Polaris hidden out of range, fly the terrapin into a location and call in strikes.
This was great. Thank you for putting the time in on these fits. Of those that do fit, we'll see small team gameplay loops being highly successful. I need to catch up on part one of this series yet, so I'm going to go do that.
Just to be helpful lol, the air shield is the effect you couldn't seem to describe😝. Keeps air in while opening hangers in space! I really missed these videos and looking forward to more lol

@@lawofthewestgaming my only question is when a full feature that you used to do of how many can’t I jam in here. Like how many ATLS, PTV/STV, Fury’s, P52’s and what not just for the meme 🤩
4 Arrows is pretty bonkers, also raises needed crew by a lot though. If it's fully crewed and has 4 Arrows loaded that ship is a force to be reckoned with. Well, at least until the Idris comes out and people start packing 20 Gladius, Hornets and Eclipses in.
Thanks for putting the work in with the Hawk, Law! The thing that was going on with it was the Landing Gear being all wonked up during your test, and so it wasn't sitting with it's wings 'up' while hunched for landing! I'll get in eventually and test for myself, but it doesn't look conclusive yet. Really hoping it'll work fine though! Thanks again dude!
Well I love listening to you in your videos, watched the whole thing. The Polaris encouraged me to make my own first youtube video as well, can't wait to have lots of fun experiences with it.
Hey bud. Putting the Cutlass Black in VTOL mode saves some of it's length (legit shaves off 2ft, which is enough and doesnt actually increase height at all), and because of how the front of the ship tapers down, if you dip it under the front of the hanger (similar to how you were trying with the Freelancer, it will fit. In the case of the Freelancer, I would try facing it towards the rear instead. The rear landing gear is alot further forwards than most people think. Forward enough that it can remain on the lower part of the hanger, while having the rear of the wings/engines/cargo hold under that lip towards the cargo elevators.
One part that's really upsetting about the hangar is the ceiling being rather low. Like a Legionnaire, which would probably be a great supporting craft to have on a patrolling Polaris, will probably not fit, as it's 10.2m high, while the Terrapin, at around 6 meters, will already not leave that much space above it. The Prospector also already starts to break through the airshield, so the limiting factor seems to be the height of the hangar. The Vulture is 9 meters tall and cuts it really close, so if the Legionnaire grows even slightly, it'll have a problem
@@-JustHuman- Legionnaire ist also a nice ground landing tool that is decently stealthy. Also, if you take no prisoners, 2 Cells aren't a problem. Although you would indeed need more beds in theory for the troops, if you aren't just using a chunk of your crew for gorund missions (which is rather likely without NPCs)
@Khayul But if you do ground attack, why not use a lightning and ursa ? Legionary is only good for ships, from what we have been told. The Polaris can also land easy and unload what it wants. And again, the Polaris is a patrol ship. If it was an expedition ship, I would agree. But that is more the Idris job, as it can do more.
@@-JustHuman- Because a Legionnaire can fit 10 people, and as per CIG should be rather stealthy, which the F8 isn't, and I don't want to necessarily land the Polaris. Yes, the Legionnaire might be better for targeting ships and hacking them, but it also has a ramp and it's easy enough to fit it into a treeline because it isn't as huge as other things, nor do you need 4 Pisces (assuming we need the jump seats in the future)
46:11 it could've been more room too. That landing bug is common with the hawk, it has its landing gear "down" but the wings are out as if its flying. If you'd have cycled the landing gear up and then down, the wings would have folded inward reducing its profile
I've been buying ships over time, I've got about a dozen now ranging from a Nomad, to a BMM, to an Orion, etc. and I'm considering slimming down. Just one big ship, and a couple specialized ships to carry in it. A couple work horses, a fighter, and a racer. Something like that.
Well chatgpt says the freelancer dur would fit real tight and it also says that the normal wouldn't so could you maybe try it?(Please) love this vid thx.
it is the same size, you can see the scale in the citcon teaser. Its basically a variant of the Prospector, they just remade the ship HUD on the newest ptu patch to apply that to both the Prospector and Fortune.
They should keep the Glaive and Scythe as they are and have them as designs they made from short descriptions before they found it what they really looked like.
Classy Red Dwarf reference. Thank you for at least showing the Cutlass, I see now why every just immediately dismissed it. I had forgotten how large it actually was. Now if someone could show me why the Reclaimer wouldn't fit, I just don't think they were trying hard enough. ;) Edit: Forgot to ask, could you just "LAND" a Redeemer? Like to onload/offload troops or something? I doubt it would fit in the hangar and be able to close the door.
I fit SRV in hangar but when you close hangar door it scatchs a bit roof. Problem with vulture you cant find wrecks and cargo in vulture too small. But if you use solo Polaris+Vulture+Bucaneer and get HRT bounty mission you can park Polaris use Buccaneer to kill bountys than use Vulture to salvage and unload in Polaris=profit)
The locations to open the ship are not intuitive... I hope they are going to fix that... It should not be some point floating in space away from the ship.. it should be a physical button near the entrance.
Opening ship doors/cargo from the Mobiglas just makes sense. I mean, we do it with key fobs for our cars, why not be able to open ships remotely hundreds of years in the future?
Still to this day I cannot figure out why we cannot access ship functions via our mobi app. You're telling me in the century of the game, interconnectivity between devices no longer exists? I should be able to open my mobi-glass, tab over to the ship, connect to it and: power on ship, raise shields, start engines, open door a, b, c, d, turn on lights. For smaller ships maybe even a remote "recall to my position" option where the ship takes off and remotely flies to my position if it can.
Did you try the Scorpius in the top hangar like you did for the lower cargo bay video? Curious if other smaller ships (like Pisces) will fit besides it with its wings folded
Does thr Carapin/medicine fit in thr cargo bay? What about thr Mantis? Also that "glowy thing" is the UEE version of the atmospheric energy barrier, that we got from thr Tevarins. They are nifty!
how high off the ground do you need to position the Polaris so it stays there while you spawn the other vehicles? For me, it kept disappearing as soon as I summon sth else.
If it clips a wall, or hangar door, it does not fit, even though it fits. Golden rule of a good fitting is generous wiggle room or margin for error. Half of these ships that sit inside the hangar do not fit
i think the beautiful part of the hanger isn't just the ships that you can take with you but the ships that can land to deliver cargo and ferry troops with ease aswell

Yup, that's why I'd advocate for carrying two Pisces for passenger and cargo transfers and then a bunch of Furies as actual fighters.

So, you can actually fit 2 Terrapins, 2 Avengers, Saber, Nomad, 2 300i series, 2 Gladius, 3-4 Pisces, 2 Reliant, 2 F7 series, F8, 2 Prospector, 2 Hull A [extended], 2 85x [possibly 3], Blade, Glaive, 4 Arrows, Eclipse, Vulture, multiple snub fighters and that's as far as I've tested.

Yeah, I was really hoping to fit the Legionnaire in it, but since it's rather low, it won't.
The Polaris really don't have the facilities for a boarding vessel, as you would need more room for the troops and more brig room than 2 cells.

Doing god's work
The hurricane is probably the best ship a crew can put into the Polaris hangar and then another snub alongside it. Hurricane + Fury seems nuts.
I just want to add this because you didn’t test it, the ares inferno fits, its to fat to park forwards but you can park it side to side.
Well chatgpt says the freelancer dur would fit real tight and it also says that the normal wouldn't so could you maybe try it?(Please) love this vid thx.
the freelancer standard is practically the same size, actually the DUR is wider on the sides cause of the fuel tanks, so no it wont fit.
