Not only as fellow Polaris owner, but as a carrack-crammer, let me know if you want help. I spent 2.5 hours in ptu setting up various loadouts in Polaris. Happy to help with the tedium.
Ill be doing Scorpius + Pisces in the top hanger. I don't think you should generally fill the lower deck with vehicles, but instead be ready to pickup found/stolen cargo. The Polaris is basically a space-Privateer, and you really want the space to bring back any goodies/treasure you might get along the way. Would be good to have an empty multi-SCU box for filling with ground supplies that get looted by your away-team.
when more flight changes come online most of these aircraft won't be possible to sneak on its the cargo area anyways since its a patrol ship you're going to be stocking supplies and such and auxiliary things, so I could see an arrow for more combat oriented or other options for support craft, but it comes down to the flight changes that are coming. Atmo flight will kill a lot of these current things we can do that's not in space or low gravity environments. Plus control surfaces is definitely something that will mess with the flight model massively. Also the hanger alone can fit comfortably two arrows or a larger fighter such as a single f8.
Impressive range of Polaris carrier options. With a few of those loadings I was wondering if sliding in sideways rather than nose first might work. In particular that Aurora appeared shorter than the door, so I wondered if that would work. Thanks for all the work with the Polaris. Will be looking forward to the topside 'What Fits' video.
I plan to put an Expedition Pisces, Rescue Pisces, MPUV Tractor, 1-2 Furys, and a Nursa down there, leaving the hangar/flight deck wide open to rotate org fighters and ships on and off for support purposes. Cant wait for hangar functionality (refuel, rearm, repair, etc...) to come online. If you're wondering why I chose what I chose, I use many of these on the Carrack already to deploy rescue, fighter support, or respawned and reequipped marines to an engagement, while keeping the ship remote from the combat zone, unless it is needed. Thanks for the video. I dont really mess with the PTU much, so my imagination is running wild until IAE in a few days.
I spent a good chunk of my day yesterday trying to get stuff into my poly. I had a lot of bouncing going on! But I settled on the Pisces and an ursa. The storm fit easy but then decided to start bouncing around and somehow ended up upside down! But so much usable space! I’m seeing it as a way of moving some of these ships around though rather than a carrier. I loved the state of your ramp after the science!😂
I hope they add separate controls for the doors and the ramps. And I think the MPUV is the one that interests me the most. The top hangar is plenty of space for a fighter and a general use ship, but being able to have something specialised for moving cargo in the cargo bay seems like it could be handy. The ability to transport the bigger ground vehicles seems handy too, even if it's not suited for a combat drop, just being able transport them adds a lot of utility.
I just hope people don't think they will be able to operate this as a flight carrier just because you can park ships in it. It won't rearm repair and refuel everyone. Just the hangar deck and only one. When the Idris and Kraken drop you'll get your wish.
Thank you so much. I was a bit self conscious at first about going off script and trying more add hock narrations. But people have been really supportive about doing this.
I've wanted them to finally uncoupled the Arrow's wing folding animation from the landing gear for such a long time now to finally make it fit into the Carrack without belly landing, and now this is another such case
I really hate that the only way we can transport the lager ground vehicles in their entirety is by using a damned Hercules. Why cant they make these large ships especially the military ships have enough clearance in the entrance to the bay? Why does it always have to be a smaller entrance to the bays actual height? We literally have planes that can carry tanks and troops at the same time. We have large boats that do the exact thing with their amphibious capable vehicles. Any vehicle large enough is built with that in mind cause why wouldn't this large vehicle with cargo capabilities not be able to carry something like that? The Polaris was so close to achieving a concept that has so much common sense behind it. The entrance to the bay is just small enough to not really let you do any of that but of course the internal bay more than large enough to actually fit the vehicle in there.
Fitting the Bucc in there is risky business. You know the one scene from Django Unchained where he shoots the guy wearing the scriptures on his chest, and the other brother sees and starts fumbling for his gun to no avail? Yea.... That's what I'd imagine would happen if SHTF and you needed to get the Bucc out lol.
ya, thats the one down side to using the lower decks, not many ships are going to be able to get out of it quickly. The arrow, the M50 and the snub fighters can fly out with ease, but nothing else really.
If you reverse the centurion in it should fit, because of the angle of the door on the Polaris and the placement of the gun on the centurion needs to be taken into account.
I squeeze even Reliant in cargo. Reliant is the best ship can fit there with x6 s2 guns x2 s2 shield an quantum drive almost same dps as buccaneer but its cheaper then Bucaneer and more versitile you can use any Reliants, Tana, Sen, Kore, Just swap turrets when you need with multytool to Toshima x2 S2 turrets and you have very good fighter in your cargo or Science ship when you need i prefer Reliant Sen). Very good option for solo players to make money. You can put Reliant or Buccaneer in cargo Vulture in hangar then take bounty mission up to HRT park Polaris kill bountys with REliant then salvage with vulture and unload in Polaris=profit.) But you know what? You can even put reliant and buccaneer together in cargo area))
The elevators are cool but I wish they made then lot bigger. Big enough for the Ursa or the Nova to be brought up top. How cool would it be to drive in store it in the large upper hanger and use the bottom for full cargo loads.
I was wondering about the Gladiator. It would be close but I don’t think it will. The Blade would be close too. And I wonder if the reliant is too wide. They seem short and skinny enough.
Can you make a video of what does not fit in the upper hangar? I’m really curious if it can fit a cutlass or something around that size. Thanks and great video!
When I tried it technically can fit for loading/unloading, you just can't close the hangar doors, which becomes a problem when initiating Quantum Jumping, since the doors close automatically.
just leave those balistas on the ramps then take off and sit them on the top of the ship in zero g haha. I am surprised they restricted this ship from holding so many ground vehicles. I guess they didn't want it becoming a jack of all trades ship.
If you ever need an extra hand or someone to help you with these videos, just ask! I’m sure many of us would love to help (myself included) and a discord would make that super easy! (If you have one)
the Polaris is best for lite tanks and lite fighters and smaller you can also get away with 2 scorpions and 2 hornets 2 gladiators, when i tried to get my spartan in it wouldnt fit but i think spartan is better for the ironclad assault
I tried it and it does "technically" fit in the hangar for loading/unloading and moving around short distances. However, you cannot close the hanger doors because of the height, which is no problem because of the air shield, it only becomes a problem when you want to Quantum Jump and the hangar doors automatically close. Which is unfortunate, because I was hoping the Cutlass would be the biggest ship you would be able to squeeze in. I suppose if you have someone with you they can pilot the Cutlass through Quantum and then land it back in on the other side of jumping, just not ideal.
So I haven't played in awhile, how do you get that many different ships and vehicles in the hangar without anything de-spawning? Were there just updates that make that not a concern anymore?
the limit is something like 24 give or take. Best hanger to use is the Aeroview, at Orison or Microtech because it has the most little nieces that you can park vehicles in.
@@lawofthewestgaming Oh nice. Man I was thinking about Upgrading from the Reclaimer to the Polaris since I love the Polaris! Honestly, I find it really strange that the Polaris struggles so much with elements of the Atlas line. But it's still a relatively modern military ship for the setting, you'd think that the navy would opt for a little bit more clearance on the cargo bay in order to make that difference. Pure Entertainment and educational as well hehehe
If you power down the main gun of the nova it shortens by about 50% that might allow you to drive in forwards
I tried that and it didn't help. the problem wasn't with the gun, it was with the overhead clearance.

Fun fact. Actually, you can fit between 21-24 in the top hangar. based on my estimate, you can fit 9-11 in the bottom one.

If you reverse the centurion in it should fit, because of the angle of the door on the Polaris and the placement of the gun on the centurion needs to be taken into account.
I believe you should be able to put the Centurion in by reversing it into the cargo hold
They must have patched the invisible lip on the cargo hold, because I had to drive the Spartan in backwards and diagonally to get it to fit.
