I had one of those and wanted to chop it but never did. The chop makes these beautiful. Can use four door Impala hardtop front, rear and wind-wing glass and frames. This one is also lowered perfectly.
I remember seeing that a few times, but boy, it has been a very long time. There was a guy in our neighborhood had one, I guess it was a 348, maybe, but he was always peeling out in it. Most all of them got wrecked. The brake system had a small master cylinder and one line coming out, and eventually they would be in a wreck, and they'd always say, " the brakes wouldn't stop me"...a few got disc brake upgrades that were in the barn...not many survived. They had one where I worked at the auto salvage yard it was hit on the driver's side but fixable, in '91, they wanted $700 for it. I was saving up for it and a guy came in with cash money and bought it.
Had a 77 Monte Carlo had the same problem ! Scooting the front tires when trying a burn out ! Now being older and knowing a 273 posi trac wasn't made 4 that ! Yes I said 273 NOT a miss print ! THAT OLD GIRL WOULD DOWN SHIFT TO 2ND GEAR AT LIKE 80 WRAP THE SPEED O METER UP TO LIKE 105 AND SHIFT TO DRIVE AN HANG ON BECAUSE 120 WAS COMING FAIRLY FAST ! Just cruzing floating on a cloud ! 359 4 barrel and factory captain swivel seats and factory duals with 6" glass packs and 2 ¹/² inch exhaust ! U want to hear back RAP that OLD GIRL WOULD !
