Thanks for the video, I have watched a few you have made and enjoyed them all. I have a 2024 1000sx so far I like it. I also have an Indian Road Master I think I have the best of both worlds. I have ridden for many years, since I was 12 and I'm 57 for a few more weeks. Still have an XT225 Yamaha that I taught my son to ride. Stay safe and keep the videos coming.
@@charlieluffy938 Thank you very much for the motivating words!
That Indian Road Master, I wonder how they compare to some of the Harley models in the same category such as the street glide or even road king. Either way that must be one of hell of a comfortable ride! You certainly do have the best of both worlds haha
How olds your son? I bet he’s having a great time on that XT225 too.
Ride safe as well, brother!
Another excellent video, the ROC is beautiful. I’ve had my 2019 N1K for about 3 months now and your “concerns” are right on point! I thought I was going crazy with how wicked hot the bike gets!! Heck, the temp gauge maxes out and the fan kicks in just cruising through town but I guess that’s the nature of this powerful beast.
Mine also sucks down the gas and man, sometimes I second guess myself and wonder if he’s WAY too heavy for me. But, like you said, despite these “issues” I love the bike and will stick with it. I only ride for fun and always take it easy, no doubt not using all the available power. Love your channel, brother. Stay safe and healthy.
I appreciate your input, sir! She does get very hot specially in the summer months, but I guess its the price we pay for riding a motorbikes!
I see that you're a Veteran. I got a lot of respect for the Navy! Thank you for your service!
Ride safe as well! Thanks for watching!
I'm getting this bike next year and it's hard to find reviews of actual owners vs glowing reviews of short term rides so this is appreciated. Honestly for a top 5 dislikes vid this was pretty tame and to me speaks more towards how good the bike is. I also agree on the price of the bags being a little high, especially since you have to buy them separate, at least in the states. Still bikes like the GSX-S GT+ does come with bags but are more expensive so its all kind of relative. I'll get the bags and just eat the price, buy once cry once.
I had to really nit pick on some of these points in order to make this video haha
In reality I really love this bike and I can see myself riding her for years!
Asides from the price I like the Kawasaki Pannier bags, my only other complaint would be the way they open, which makes it harder to fit some heavier mountaineering/ camping equipment so I chose some Givi bags that have been working very well, but they do require some support arms.
Thanks for watching, brother! Hope you subscribe for some more content on this 1000sx!
Hmm, I didn't think about the heat. No problems with my 650 in Florida, but thinking about getting the 1100 when it comes out.
That would be a big upgrade, im sure youd love the new 1100! Let me know when you get her! Ride safe, brother!
I own one of these and love it. Never find it hot but I am in the UK. I used to own an underseat pipe R1 now that used to get really hot in the summer. So much so i had to stand up at times. Fuel consumption is acceptable I find and coming from sports bikes the riding position is comfortable for me. I actually owned the previous Z1000sx before my Ninja and I changed as this model sorted most of the issues that bike had such as the low speed handling and the comfort by making the seats more padded and it added cruise control and a quick shifter. It was a good machine before but its a brilliant one now and good value too. It is a bit heavy but no more so than other bikes in this category. If the rumours are to be beleived there is a new or updated model coming next year so there will be some bargains on this bike new for sure.
Yes, I see that Kawasaki has not released the 2025 version of this bike yet, same for the H2 models! It would be exciting to finally see a new 1000sx!
In terms of acceleration, is the 1000sx much slower than your R1? I mean I could see the R1 being much faster after it reaches those higher RPM ranges, but how about in city traffic on stop and go traffic? I do flirt with the idea of getting a proper supersport but I do love to go riding for several hours and out here in Taiwan you do encounter stop and go traffic quite often!
Thanks for watching, brother. Hope you subscribe for more content on two wheels!
Another very well edited video. About the engine heat, you're right. The bike needs a certain speed. It's not a machine for slow cruising. It is all more comfortable and functional at medium or high speeds.
Absolutely! She’s really not great for cruising in the city all the time! At higher speeds she’s really good!
Useful and honest. Thanks for the review. Staying alert!
Thank you very much, brother. Hope you subscribe for more content on two wheels. Ride safe!
Had mine since 2017, and keep looking at other bikes, but as soon as I get on her and drive, reminds me why the Z1000sx is such a great bike. Yes she can get hot, especially in traffic, and she is 'wide' and long, but I commute into London twice a week and have no issues filtering. Fantastic all-round bike that just does its job, and is especially happy bumbling along a motorway at 70/80. One other pointer, with her double led headlights, hardly ever have people pull out on me, unlike previous bikes, where it was a daily activity. I value those eyes very highly :)
All valid points, brother! She's a do it all king of bike, lots and lots of fun on mountain roads too, a powerful bike that can easily switch from sight seeing with your girl to track days.
I appreciate you watching, brother. Hope you subscribe for more content on this 1000sx!
1. Heat. It's a 1000+cc engine and you live in a country comparable to the surface of the sun, what did you expect?
2. Economy. Like the other fella said, stop going everywhere in 2nd gear. You said yourself the bike has bag loads of torque, you don't need to stay in a low gear all the time. My '17 Z1000SX gives me an average 48mpg. One of the complaints you mentioned was the bike produces so much power, well that's cos you're in 2nd gear.....you also have an option to turn the power down which you can do while moving. Try it.
3. I didn't notice reason no. 3, unless it was the whinge about too much power.
4. Size. The reason for the width is cos if the bike was skinny, every gap you rode through would cause you to lose the panniers. The mirrors at the front of the bike are designed to be the exact same width as the panniers....ie, if the front fits through the gap, so will the back.
4 (x2 - ah that explains #3 being missing). Price. Welcome to the modern world of inflation and unreasonable price gouging. Kawasaki is not unique is overcharging for accessories.
5. Ergonomics. Ok, so lemme get this straight.....you find the bike too hot, too uneconomical, too powerful, too big, too expensive and too uncomfortable. Are you absolutely sure this is the right bike for you?
I appreciate you watching and taking your time to write this comment!
I absolutely love this bike and I use her everyday for everything! There's no other bike in the market I'd rather have at all. What you have to understand is that everything has its drawbacks, even if you love it, nothing is perfect and #3 on this list is a good example of it!
I hope you subscribe to see more content on this 1000SX! Ride safe!
Thank you for this honest video.
I'm thinking about buying a N1K.
Test rode a Z1000 and really liked it.
A lot of the time I'm riding hundreds of Kilometers for a whole weekend touring. My MT07 just isn't comfortable enough for my kind of riding. It's a good beginner bike, don't get me wrong. But the N1K seems to me like the right bike for my kind of riding.
You won’t regret getting the N1K. She’s flawless on Mountain Roads, smooth power to pass any car on the steepest hills while carrying heavy gear and a passenger!
I’ll be bringing more videos camping and touring with the 1000sx!
Thanks for watching! Ride safe!
You know they have those heat shield they use for different purposes for household cars engines you can go and get you some of that and cut it to the fitting of your seat under your seat and heat problem goes away from the seat area and maybe some other slight modifications that will help you with heating problemsthat would work. I’ve seen it done.
haha Thats an interesting Idea! This is the only bike i've ever owed so its hard to say how hot she really gets in comparison to other spot touring motorcycles...But she does get hot during the summer and you will feel that heat hitting your legs!
Thanks for the input, ride safe, brother!
I own this bike in 2011 and 2015 - wreaked 2011, and bought new 2015 which i still own and ride with 22k miles and counting. I live in WA State USA So only really hot summer days do i encounter your heat issues. I am 56 and a bit out of shape and i have no issues with ergonomics. I love this bike, but agree it def does not get the best gas mileage. Kudos to a great vid and beautiful Island.
Having a Ninja 1000 in WA must be awesome! I could see myself touring from Olympic to Glacier National Park during the summer!
I really love my Ninja 1000 but she does get hot specially in stop and go traffic! The heat isnt much of an issue overall, but the engine's air gets blown directly onto your legs!
Thank you for watching, I hope you subscribe for more content on this beautiful 1000sx! Ride safe, brother!
Great video! Have 2021, agree with most points and have the same nitpicks... MPG is ~45 after air filter, headers, and one tooth up on the front sprocket. Love the drone footage!
Thank you Rick, what kind of air filter did you get? I never heard of anyone changing the sprocket on a 1000sx untill now, did it make a big difference?
Thanks for watching, always good to see you here!
@@LiterFreedom K&N filter. And I think the sprocket lowered the bike ~300-400rpms and maybe added 2-4 mpg… all ballpark estimates, but definitely runs smoother and has more power after filter and headers (Delkevic)… cheers!
@@Rickmac22 Very interesting! I ought to look at it. Thank you!
Thanks for sharing your honest opinion, it was so good i had to watch it twice.
Wow That’s great. I’m glad you enjoyed it. I’m going to work on improving more and more for you!
Stay healthy and ride safe!
Many compliments to you especially for speaking english in such a comprehensible way also for non english mother tongue listeners. I'm just considering buying this bike or its direct rival, Suzuki GSX-S 1000 GT, that frankly I love the most from an aesthetic point of view. I owed and rode a BMW R1150R for 20 years and It's getting a little bit obsolete, and above all I dont like 2 cylinders engine sound any more, also because my first big bike was an Honda CBR600F with a very beatiful exhaust sound. Thank you for giving us such beautiful postcard from Taiwan. Cheers from Italy and continue to ride safe as y're doing mate.
It was great to read your comment! I appreciate your kind words!
When it comes to the GSX1000 or 1000SX either one of them would be amazing. I would certainly sit on both and take both motorcycles to a test drive because the tank and ergonomics are a bit different on each bike.
I use a slip on exhaust on my 1000sx and she's not extremely loud but she is loud enough to enjoy the 4 cylinder sound and not lose your hearing when you're touring for several hours!
Thank you for watching too, brother. I hope you're subscribed for more content on this 1000sx! Ride safe!
I have the previous generation with the 4 stainless steel exhaust outlets, I live in Queensland Australia temp can easily get to 35°c + in summer and I never noticed any excessive heat although I never used it for commuting, as for milage I definitely got a lot better than 40 mpg but I noticed that you remained in 2 nd even at 35 kph , the sx can pull 50 K in top easily I would be in at 3rd or 4th gear at that 35 kph. What did surprise me was the vibration once I hit 6000 rpm , below this the bike was very smooth. It was one of my favourite bikes but decided I wanted a big Austrian V twin for a change.
I do tend to keep her in lower gears, I like having that instant power available but like you said, it costs more gas to ride that way! Riding in stop and go traffic in the city also lowers my milage a lot as well.
Australia gets extremely hot, im glad you were able to ride in 35c+ weather haha, the combination of heat and humidity is what gets to me!
Im sure you have a great time riding in the beautiful Australian roads, I've been there a couple of times and I'm always impressed by how beautiful the country is!
Thank you for watching, I hope you subscribe for more content on this 1000sx and re-live some of the moments you had with her! Ride safe, brother!
Agree sometimes riding in lower gears , saves on brakes as engine braking is stronger and some bikes have a great burble or crackle backing off the revs in a lower gears.
How ergonomic is bad? Can I travel long distances?
So in terms of ergonomics this bike leans towards a sport bike, it’s certainly way more upright than a super sport, but, when you ride with this bike for over 5 hours will you certainly feel the “sporty” ergonomics, now, this doesn’t and has never stopped me from having 10-12 hour riding days!
Any other question let me know, brother! Ride safe!
@@LiterFreedom your statement sounds for me like, in 5 hours you will get tired, but if you are patient you will bear 10 hours 😁
@@Iliy-f3o hahaha yes! If you take many breaks you should be fine. I mean, there are certainly other bikes that are way more comfortable than the 1000sx but they won’t be as fun as the 1000sx during those 10 hour riding days heheh
Always love your content bro.
Very insightful video.
Can i ask for your opinion ?
I am on the fence between buying CBR650R vs Ninja 1000sx
Love sportier ride, my worries are the weight and handling of ninja 1000sx
I am from Malaysia and live in the city. Will be using the bike in city.
In your opinion, is using Ninja 1000sx will be too much of a hassle using in city and heavy traffic?
I cant help to love the power and design of Ninja 1000sx
But at the same time cbr650r offers 4 inline and more manageable weight.
Could please help out a friend here 😂
@@NikNaqiuddinFarisMohdKhalid thank you very much for the compliment on the videos, brother. I truly appreciate the support!
Unless you plan on regularly taking your motorcycle on long distance riding trips with a passenger and potentially heavy gear I’d go for the CBR650R! She sounds amazing, she’s beautiful too (I personally like her in red), she’s got plenty of power to have fun with and most importantly she’s lighter and a bit smaller which will make your life just a little easier when parking and maneuvering between cars!
The other thing too is that the 1000sx saddle height is quite higher than the Honda 650R too!
If you DO plan on taking many long multi day trips WITH a passenger I’d certainly go for the 1000SX without a doubt!
Let me know what you end up choosing, brother! Be safe out there! 💪 🏍️
Get a custom ecu tune, they can lower the fan temps so it comes on sooner. change out the coolant to something like engine ice...every little bit helps, beautiful ride though!!
That’s actually some great ideas there! Thank you! Hope you stay and subscribe for more content on this 1000sx!
I had a 2020 z900 the heating issue is exact what you mentionwd here, seat gets hot burns the bum, even the key in the ignition would get hot.
You definitely feel the heat of this bike…Compared to some of the other bikes I rode my 1000sx felt much hotter in any season!
I appreciate you watching, brother! Hope you subscribe for more content on two wheels! Ride safe.
Great review....it seems pretty hard to come up with things to hate that wouldn't also be hated with the Ninja's competition....if I ever want a liter tourer this one is near the top of the list.
haha It absolutely was, this has been and still is my dream bike, there's nothing in the market today that could meet my needs as much as the N1K but nothing in life is perfect as much as we love it.
I appreciate your input, hope you subscribe for more content on this 1000sx, hope you join the team someday, brother! Ride safe!
Which one is at the top?
What phone mount are you using on the bike and how is it mounted? I use the fork mounted quad lock with a vibration damper, but it does get in the way inserting the key. Also, what is the flashing blue led light on the left side?
Thanks
Always good to hear from you, @s2k442.
The flashing blue light is a camera switch, I have two cameras that are always on when I’m riding, there’s a button there to take pictures too.
I’m going to get back to you in a few minutes about the phone mount but the one I have is pretty good, no problems with vibrations, the phone is locked in very well and no problems at high speeds!
The phone mount's called Takeway, Its a Taiwanese company. I looked on amazon but could not find one for sale, I only found it on Taiwanese websites like this one www.takewayglobal.com/products/products-59-15.html
Found wearing full protection enduro Tech 7 booots , helps with the heat.
Great video
I just looked at them, a bit expensive haha But im sure that you won't be thinking about the price if they protect your feet from permanent damages!
I appreciate your input, hope you subscribe for more content on this 1000SX! Ride safe, brother!
thx for the video, considering a 2024 rn
Awesome! The 24 colors are beautiful too! Hope you subscribe for more content on this 1000sx. Ride safe, brother!
I had a 2021 1000sx and will say i did not care for it, very awkward riding position, power wise its ok but nothing to write home about, my female partner did not care for the rear seat comfort. I know others love it but the SX just was not for me.
That’s interesting! I can appreciate a different opinion!
How long did you have her for?
How is it awkward? You want a tuck in track bike or something
……very awkward???? ……are you 8 foot tall?
I am not sure I'd want both a top box (47 liters) and saddlebags (56 liters total) on this bike anyway. Metal tank equals magnetic tank bag, which is a cheap option for secondary storage. I have a 2013 which means the sexy integrated bags were not an option. The factory top box is just a Givi anyway, so I bought the Givi box with brackets and a backrest from a European site on a good sale day, and after Canadian duty and taxes, was in about $650 CDN. Best thing I ever did besides losing style points. Now I'm able to get food, beer, and many other items. Trips are easy and my occasional passengers can relax. Not to mention, the bike is no wider than before, even if we don't have legal lane splitting here.
@@kevinjacobson2202 honestly your brought up some great points here! I can’t really argue with them haha Unless you really need the extra space that the saddle bags could offer + top box (such as long camping trips on remote areas where you must carry a lot of stuff and an extra passenger).
Let me ask you a question. Is it easy to remove your top box bracket? (I mean the mount for the box) or is it practically mounted there for good?
With the exhaust setup, I’ve had trouble finding good swingarm spools that won’t potentially hit the exhaust during heavy compression of the rear suspension. Do you have any suggestions?
That’s interesting, it’s probably easier to take the spools out when you go riding to be honest…
You might want to try the Yamaha Tracer 9 or Triumph Tiger 900.
More upright ergonomics and arguably more fun engine (sweet triple!).
That’s very interesting! I’d love to try them both actually! Thanks for the input!
All your concerns are somewhat valid.
I' not wondering about your fuel consumption if you allmost using 1st and 2nd gear while you driving though village or small chilling streets (at least in this video). Here in Germany, citizens are really sensitive about Motorbike noise. So I allmost use high gears driving with my 1000SX, e.g. 5th gear though villages at 50km/h and the SX does not feel to have a problem with ths (compared to other bikes). So fuel consuption goes easily down to 5.2l/100km - yes, as well 6.2l ore more is possible;.).
Compared to similar bikes for touring or even crossover bikes, the weight and size is not that tall. As well the prices in Germany, contrasted with the competitors, are not that high.
I really like that bike, because, it is two bikes in one: first ad chilling tourer on low RPM and second realy sporty while stepping two (or three) gears down. Of course, it is a compromize on both sides. Only alternative is, to own two specialized Bikes. Have you considered the Ninja 650 as well (or e.g. Hondas CB650 variants)?
BTW: I see it recommended to have a short brake every hour during tours - don't matter which bike you are driving.
Your country looks so nice for bike driving, have fun!
@@michaelgrund7290 I agree with most of what you said, Michael! I do enjoy riding in the higher RPM range for many reasons but the bike does consume more fuel when riding that way!
I really love this bike and choosing “bad” things to talk about this bike was very hard haha I did consider a ninja 650 but I don’t like that engine for the purpose of long riding days with a passanger and heavy gear going uphills for several hours. The only other bike I’d consider to replace the 1000sx would be the Ninja H2 Sx.
I saw your profile picture and I love the green color you got on your 1000sx!
I appreciate all your inputs, brother!
Hope you subscribe for more content on the 1000sx! Ride safe, brother!
@@LiterFreedom Thanks for your answer! My SX is the green 2020er version as sport touring version . Without Family and enough money, I would have 4 Bikes;-). still my SX as Tourer, A Fireblade or ZX10R as super sport, An Indian Chief Darkhorse for cool cruising and a dirt bike for rural local fun. Im just looking for an old Yamaha XT600/660 from the 90th.
@@michaelgrund7290 haha I’m looking at a supersport to add to the family, either a zx10r or a s1000rr, or I could go for the H2 SX…It’s a tough decision because I really love going for long touring days and idk how much I’d like a supersport for that…A supersport sounds like much fun but it’s only made for that addictive acceleration, high speeds and extreme lean angles. I guess the 1000sx will have to do for a few more months hehe!
A pleasure having you on the channel, brother!
I can send you my email if you’re interested in making a short video of the sound of your 1000sx and participate in one of the videos for this channel!
@@LiterFreedom sounds interesting, but no clue, how to share mail adresses via UA-cam without sharing them official to all...and I have no action cam. I have the Akra exaust, rear seat cover in green, panniers and the smoked touring windscreen as it is regular on the Sport Touring Version of the SX.
Only addon in addition to that I did, is the CLS Oiler system with dynamic heat grips as replacement for the original heat grips from Kawa.
Hi from Japan! Finally got her from the dealership and she is amazing! Love her smoothness and how comfortable ride is. But, i was really shocked by fuel consumption... 60 km is done. I'm a new rider, i know.. On a Rain mode for a while, everyday on traffic jams, and my km/l is 8.3, avg speed 10 km/h 😅If these scores are my fault, please, give me some advise!
Brother, how many kms does your bike have? Is she a new bike? What kind of gas are you using?
I get about 17 km/l when riding slowly and less than 15 km/l when “having fun” maybe your bike is still in its break in period? 8.3 is TOO LOW!
@LiterFreedom it's a brand new bike, a 2024 year model. High octane gasoline. I'm not having fun at all and drive very slow at heavy traffic jams. And yes, it's in break in period now. 60 km on odometer.
@@LiterFreedom And one more thing. Because I'm a new rider, i never filtering or something at all.
@@xiron_JP how many kms have you ridden this bike? Maybe she has been idling for a long time?
@@LiterFreedomAbout 60 kms.
I live in Queensland and gets pretty hot here, after the ninja 300 this is the least hot bike I’ve owned, worst one was the KTM 690 duke, always running below boiling point. To me the worst thing about this bike is the weight and height. I almost dropped it again getting out of a shitty gravel roadside parking spot, hurt my left leg trying my best to keep it up.
Thats very interesting to me, Im not sure if my particular bike just runs hot or maybe because I use her too much in the city and she's not exactly designed for that...I mean she's a touring bike after all...
I have been in a few situations like yours, where gravel, oil or not paying attention (on an uneven surface) nearly led me to dropping her and what saved her was leg muscles haha 😂
I appreciate you watching brother, hope you're keeping healthy and safe out there!
@@LiterFreedom Strange that the weight is a problem for you on the Duke 690 , it's a very light weight bike , the height is something else , I'm 1m76 and most bikes with a sit height more than 82cm is for me also not comfortable .
@TheOliveradams I believe he was speaking about the Duke's temperature!
@@TheOliveradams the problem on the duke was the heat, constantly running hot. The ninja 1000sx doesn’t have heat problems in my opinion but has definitely weight problems 😁
@@LiterFreedom 🤔 the ninja can easily get between 90 and 100 Celsius, but at 100 the fan will turn on, usually reaches 102 max but with the fan on will drop down to 99/98. If you’re running these numbers everything is normal. It does tend to shoot air a bit up and it does get a bit hot but I think no more than most bikes.
I live in Canada . Bring on the heat ;-) Can't wait to get mine . I have a 2003 Concours right now and it melt's your bits too and melts any snow under the engine when stopped at a light if you get caught in a freak snow storm . Ask me how I know . Not fun on very heavy machine . Concours is 200 lbs heavier than the H2 . $500 just for new hinges for the side bags on my 2003 Concours . So $1000 for new tank bags is fine by me .
I bet that concours was fun! Good memories!
I’ve ridden my bike 1000sx in some pretty bad weather and in high altitudes without a worry! She’ll probably feel very nimble to you coming from a concours!
Let me know when she gets there!
Bad milage? Try to use the other 4 gears instead of the first two...
What part of the video are you referring to in terms of gearing?
According to google the 1000SX gets an average of 17KPL while touring which is what I’m getting. If you use her everyday in the city as I am you’ll be getting way less! Compared to a Honda Fireblade 1000RRR gets 19.6KPL, other motorcycles get way way more too!
So yeah in comparison to other bikes the 1000SX is not exactly economical but not the absolute worst!
As for mileage..my SX is also getting 16-17 km per liter in the open. I think it is okay.
My former ER6n was getting 22 km per liter, but I didnt get the SX to worry about consumption.
Absolutely! I believe most people that get the 1000sx aren’t really worried about the gas mileage! It’s not a deal breaker but other liter bikes get better mileage for sure!
I appreciate you watching, brother! Hope you subscribe for more content on this 1000sx!
I just traded in a Concours 1400 & the heat on my new 24 Ninja 1000sx is nothing, dont complain about the N1K`s heat! My Connie was only getting about 35 miles to the Gallon. The Power and Performance are Pretty equal and I really like the better handling and about 175lbs less weight on the N1k. All around (for my Riding style) I think the N1K is a better Bike than the Concours.
I have never ridden a Concours but I hear great things about that bike. It’s a shame she was discontinued but the h2 SX seems to be a great replacement and the only upgrade for the 1000sx.
To say that the 1000sx doesn’t get hot is simply saying you don’t ride this bike in peak summer anywhere in the USA let alone Asia, I can’t speak for Europe and other continents as I haven’t ridden there, but I will say this…You ride a 1000sx in Florida in August and get back to me hehe!
I appreciate your input, brother! I hope you’re enjoying your 1000sx as much as me, hope you subscribe for more content on this 1000sx. Ride safe, brother!
@@LiterFreedom ive ridden the C14 across the Mojave desert here in the US...was cooked. Havent done it on the N1K. I live in Kansas City summer time highs can hit 110f with 85% humidity...we have crazy hot summers.
@@scottmatzeder9162 damn I had no idea Kansas City got that hot, every time I was there the weather was pleasant haha 85% humidity is a killer!
Hey I liked the video very much found the complaints really normal not knit picky the weight everyone keeps telling me it's heavy lol I have not picked mine up yet but I traded my 2008 fjr1300 on this and damn that yamaha always felt like a tank weighing in over 650lbs with all 3 saddle bags so I think this bike will feel light to me as my touring bike is a 2023 gold wing lol so this should be a feather for me lol and the saddle bag cost damn I am right there with you that's outrageous to me also I think for almost 14k (13,699 actual cost) it should come with the bike gas mileage I'm OK with if I can around 40mpg I'm good with although it would be nice if it were 45 plus this bike seems more sport to me than touring really the heat wow I hear your point on that I live in NC so it gets hot in the south in America the lean angle I found to be comparable to my fjr stock but I did put heli-bars and raised them up and rearward towards me my only question I have to you is are there aftermarket risers for this bike and one thing you didn't mention was foot peg position I always thought my fjr was a little on the aggressive side and the ninja is nearly the same angle how is the foot peg position for I am nearly 6.1 in height
The foot peg position is a bit on the sporty side, after 5 or 6 hours of riding I start to feel that I need to stretch my legs more often, so I take water breaks after every hour of riding to keep myself fresh!
I will say that the gold wing is miles ahead of this bike in terms of comfort, however, this bike is a lot more fun for spirited rides on mountain roads!
The fjr1300 looks to be similar to the Ninja 1000sx but way way heavier, I agree that the ninja will feel like feathers for you! haha
Congratulations on your new bike, brother! Let me know when she arrives and ride safe!
@@LiterFreedom what handle bar risers any aftermarket that you know of
@@michaelsloane1034 Honestly I can’t recommend any specific bar risers for this bike as I don’t use it, but I watched this video ua-cam.com/video/m4vn1nLYADU/v-deo.htmlsi=_7t3k56ElZp6Qxpq At the end you can see that that the sitting position improves a lot!
I see you got some keyboard warriors on this one 😂 . It’s funny some people always have to find something to debate. I feel you on the heat thing, even on smaller bikes in traffic. They just want to breathe.
People get so hurt about anything haha Grown man taking time of their day to write some garbage instead of going outside to ride their bikes LOL But its part of the game, thats how youtube is and it doesn't bother me, its good for the algorithm!
You say that the negative thing about your kawasaki is the fuel consumption. But throughout the video you are driving in second gear. In this way you cannot achieve low consumption because you force the engine to turn at many revolutions. If you try to drive choosing 4th or 5th gear then you will easily see a consumption of 19 maybe even 20 kilometers per liter.
I am writing this because your bike has a lot of torque from low revs that you are not taking advantage of. So consumption on a 1000cc bike like yours can get a lot better. Try it.
Greetings from Greece.
@@Σταμάτης-ζ3τ I mainly road in lower gear on this video because of road conditions. If you watch other videos you’ll see I normally do ride her on mid to lower range RPM, anyways when you google 1000sx mileage you will see that others are also getting the same KM pL as I am! It’s interesting because other 1000cc bikes get better mileage than this 1000sx….
Don’t get me wrong I absolutely love my 1000sx and I ride her everyday but I had to find some negatives (compared to other bikes) to make this video. It was hard finding anything negative to say about her haha!
Stay safe out there, brother. And thank you for your opinion! 💪 🏍️
I hate that my favorite donuts (500 miles away) are so much fun to get to!
Haha that’s fair! Ride safe, brother!
Cant say heat bothered me even in the highest summer. But I ride it exclusively in the open roads though.
On open roads the bike does not feel too hot at all! I’d say she’s not really designed for stop and go traffic to be honest! She handles so well on the twisties too!
Looks like where you are riding you don’t need a liter bike
Where in the world do you “need” a liter bike? Haha I use a motorcycle everyday for everything including mountaineering trips! A liter bike with lots of torque helps me to be safer when carrying a passenger and heavy mountaineering equipment!
Ride safe, brother. I appreciate you watching. Hope you subscribe for more content on this beautiful 1000SX!
so 0 mechanical issues good to know...
So far so good haha! I just had to get a new horn a few days ago, other than that everything has been great!
I'v read many reviews and all say great bike
She absolutely is. To me she’s the best sport touring bike in the market today! As much as I love her everything has its negatives.
Are you getting one?
nope, safer not to at my age🧐@@LiterFreedom
@jimclarke1108 I feel your pain, in rhe same boat ... maybe a RE Interceptor...?
Interesting opinions and wonderful views of Taiwan, I probably will never get there, so thanks! I love my 1000 SX here in US! No complaints except maybe that the gets uncomfortable after about five hours…. I subscribed…
A few years ago I would have never expected to go to Taiwan either...Maybe someday we'll be riding together out here haha!
Im glad youre enjoying your 1000sx! Is that a concors on your profile picture?
Thanks for subscribing and supporting the journey, brother! Ride safe!
Lol.. Wait till you ride a Kawasaki C14, all those complaints will go away real quick
I’d absolutely love to tour on a concours, but I’d imagine it would be hard to daily her specially in heavy traffic with 100 scooters surrounding me haha 😂
I appreciate you watching, hope you subscribe for more content on two wheels!
If you are using 2nd gear when you could be using 4th, it's no wonder that you get a lot of heat out of the engine, as well as bad gas mileage..... LOL.... Be smarter, man!
You ride your bike in 4th gear at 30kmph going uphills?
@@LiterFreedom No, but I do it at 40+ on flat roads.
Buy a Honda Grom…
Honda grom? Nah…Too much hp! I’ll get a skateboard to ride with you!
to hot ?????
almost didnt felt it at all
much better than yamaha mt10 or any ducati
i sold it after only 5 months
boring bike, especially boring engine
You don’t feel a boiling engine in the summer? Amazing! 🤣
140HP while caring a passenger and heavy camping gear in a foreign country is boring to you? I gotta know what you do for fun. 🤩
Oh the 1000sx is boring!? Thanks for sharing 😮
Never go faster than 50kmh. Why did you need a supersport? I suggest a EBike like something from Zero to you. No heat an nice an smooth with incredible amount of torque.
Maybe you don’t feel a boiling engine under you in 35c weather with 90% humidity. That’s you, b.
She’s not a supersport she’s a sport-touring.
If you’re looking to watch someone committing felonies on video and risk going to jail in a foreign country this isn’t the channel, b.
Or better yet, you go to a foreign country get a 1000cc bike, and show us all who’s the man!
Ride long and ride safe! 💪😎
This must be the most ridiculous review EVER
@@robertwilson54 You could get up from your chair and show us all how to do a better review, little Bob. Ride safe! 😊
You need to look at other reviews, if you are in a hot country the bike is bound to get hot so why even mention it, I have a Z 1000 but because I live in Britain it never gets hot, and as for fuel I get about 54 mpg so maybe it’s how you ride
I fell in love with this bike at a kawasaki demo. I want one! But speaking of love, how are the women in Tawain? Are they thin and nice? How do they treat their men?
The 1000sx is the greatest bike for what I do on a daily basis, other bikes are better in other ways but pound for pound I love the 1000sx and wouldn't trade her for anything else.
I have been in many countries in Southeast Asia, (actually all over the world too) Taiwan is the best kept "secret" in terms of woman and quality of life in asia.
Taiwanese woman are absolutely amazing and are raised to be "feminine" like in a more conservative sense of the word. You can meet many lady friends out here with ease! I could speak for hours just on that subject alone haha

15km per 1 litre 😂, what are riding a V8 Muscle car. Dude no way on earth.
35mph is the equivalent of 15kmpl man! That’s very much expected on the 1000sx if you ride aggressively but you can certainly use google to double check!
