THANK YOU FOR WATCHING AND BEING WONDERFUL!!!
I feel like if you left the walls as they are and just put a frame around the paint swatch we'd all accept it and applaud that bold aesthetic choice 😂
Lol I was just thinking the same thing as I clicked on the video! 🤣
Yep. Please leave the dead salmon square.
Inquiring minds want to know when you will be Becoming @Hautemesstom 🧐. Not that you NEED a reason to don a lamé onesie but now you have one.
I think it could be a great base for pictures or art too. There is definitely a way to style it that would be very cool and intentional
omg! that is genius, maybe put some art in there as well, something subtle would look amazing
Hannah!! Thank you so much for being so kind to me and such a huge cheerleader of mine! You are a major reason as to how I got to my first 1k and i'm forever grateful! I'm so happy you enjoyed that video as I had SO much fun making it and I felt incredibly connected to you while I was watching you and mimicking your style! I would love to hear and see more of your techniques and your WHY to doing them. Makeup fully doesn't have rules and I think people who are self-taught have figured out what works best for their face and I just love hearing and seeing all of those things!
I appreciate you more than you know! xx Thank you!!
yay, I love this! focusing on the "why" is such a good idea!
Love these videos!
Also, you should never feel bad that a product is discontinued and that we can't buy it. Buying things is not why we watch you. We watch you enjoy your collection.
Yes! Dupes are everywhere. Don't feel like you can't use a product just because we can't buy that exact thing.
Plus, some people might own that discontinued product and would love to see new ways to use it!
Yes yes yes!!!
Agree!!
Agreed! I go into my makeup and see what I have that’s similar and use that.
Confession time: I have a shopping compulsion and for the last two years, your videos have helped me confront my issue (instead of lying to myself about it) and has helped give me strategies/reminders when it flares up so I don't fall back into my old ways.
It's not an easy thing to do, but it's getting easier to handle. Your no-buy videos are the ones that really forced me to stop and reflect on my purchases and when you do videos like this, they are a great tool I use when I feel that itch to shop.
So, I guess I'm trying to say thank you.
Ever since I watched this, I have wanted a minty pool shade just like this. Don’t have the Kaleidos. Don’t have a single. Back and forth. Then suddenly I realized I hadn’t mentally shopped ALL of my stash. I have IT ALL. Enter Viseart Soleil La Plage. Sea is exactly what I needed. I don’t need to want to buy anything else.
I would love a video of the “10 ways to take an eye look starting with auric disrupt” lol
I thought the same! 😁
Yes, please!
I love the idea of using one product to start 10 different eye looks, that could be a really interesting video.
BTW, I used sparks from the gold palette on my brow bone today, it is giving me LIFE!!!!
I would never have thought to pair the green shimmer with the reddish base, but the end result is stunning! Will try and copy hehehe!
With the decor and plants, I can fully see the Dead Salmon vision, it was definitely the best choice! Now I shall be settling in with a little bit of a snack to enjoy the rest of the video
I would like to change my vote too for Dead Salmon 😬 I'm sorry Hannah 😅
now if I can only just get it together to finish painting the wall 😂
@@HannahLouisePostonin my eyes, it's beautiful as is, especially with the pants now
@@Uhohlisa HLP's office is Sulking Pink now! Watch that video - I found it very satisfying to see my favorite choice of paint color living its best life
I love this cranberry-mint look. It's serving summer cocktail big time. And love how excited you got about your own eyeshadows!
since you asked about what we'd like to see more, here are my thoughts
my favorite videos of yours are the overhead videos, with nice juicy swatching, and close ups of the products, especially eyeshadow
but I also like your makeup application videos. in fact, the first HLP video I ever watched and that got me hooked was the video on how to use black eyeshadow. would love to see videos like those.
another thing that I would suggest is applications like this video. colorful eyeshadow in your style. most people doing colorful eyeshadows do structured elaborate looks with bright colors. those are beautiful, but I don't have the skillet or the confidence to do those. I loved today's look with it's wash of color and watercolory vibe. I want to put it on my eyes rn. would love to see more looks like these, approachable colorful looks for neutral lovers.
I put on Hannahs overhead videos when I can't sleep, I love palette building videos, they make me want to make palettes with mine. Also a huuuuuge fan of single shadow declutters.
@@Beautyonthebrain_ yess me too!
They're so relaxing! And I love the process of building the color stories, seeing it come to life
I connected the dots on what BIBA was, but I was like how is the lipstick...oooooh. That's a niche reference. I'm here for it. lol
Please continue to talk about items that are discontinued. I feel like it sends an important message about how makeup is to be used rather than collected, and that the specific item is not integral to getting a certain look
I just opened up YT specifically thinking "I wonder if HLP has posted". My Hannah senses were tingling
🧚♀️
Great video, great lewk! Hautemess Tom's video was AMAZING! They really nailed it❤️❤️❤️
Haute mess Tom is the BEST! I loved that video!!!
24:29 "[Tom] brought home to me that people are out there watching what I do, and potentially recreating... elements of my technique"
YES YES YES! The video where you mix Flower Beauty's Jungle Lights with water has inspired me to do the same with my uber pigmented shimmers.
I know I'm late to the party so I'm not sure if you'll see this, but I think it would be just fascinating to see an HLP take on Euphoria makeup! Whether that means trying something totally new or just incorporating elements into your own style or just being inspired by it or the idea of it in general, I would LOVE to see something speaking to this style/trend, especially since it showed up in your video about trends you're excited for!
I learned to do my eyeshadow imitating your technique, and finally i like my eyelooks… so, yes, hannah, thank you!!
Today I was just thinking about how, long ago when you did the Saidie-inspired lewk, I shopped my stash and put together a bunch of products for a Nutmeg-the-cat makeup. Nutmeg is orange and stripey, with golden eyes, and I came up with something I loved so much, but I never wore it because I never left the house at that time. Well, now we're here. This weekend! I'm wearing my Nutmeg Lewk.
I literally can’t even describe how obsessed I am with this concept. Now that I’m in my 30’s, I realize that’s it’s the endorphins of shopping that I’m living for. A lot of times I get my Sephora order, start playing with my new stuff and realize I’m not really loving what I bought. Could I return things, yes. Do I? Usually not and that’s just money down the drain. I am SOOOO inspired by this video to shop my own massive collection as it’s likely I’m repeatedly drawn to something I already own. Thank you!! You’re such a beautiful gem of a human Hannah. ❤
First off - love when you dramatically depart from a brief and find absolute magic which is completely what happened in this video! And second, I adore Hautemess Tom and the video they did following your makeup routine was one of the best vids to date!
Dior has an overwhelming commitment to pink or peach undertones. Even for shades labelled ‘neutral’. I have never found one that works and wasted so much money over the years wishing/hoping a product would work. I wore the wrong foundation for an embarrassingly long time (decades) so when you find the one (kett super pale olive) it’s liberating to just stop. Look no further. Thanks for your video it’s so much fun and full of insight!
9 times out of 10 your duping vibes (and duping vibes adjacent) vids make me want to play with a palette of mine that I’ve never even heard you talk about (Jackie Aina x ABH) and it brings me so much joy 🙏
I'm sitting here amidst loads of packing boxes. Following in your footsteps 😃 I've followed your idea of packing all my make up away and only using a limited make up bag. And I swear I've had more compliments through the creativity this has garnered within me! I really don't need to buy a single thing right now. So from now on I'm going to shop my stash until I really do 😃 The look you created was gorgeous😍❤️
I (and many here) love all the kinda eclectic videos you do, and I think that's because you have a very unique and engaging way of thinking and communicating your thoughts! I mean, yes, it is just make up, but I love hearing passion and attention to detail. No matter if it is about idk, super market socks. BUT if in top of that, the topic is something I already love, like make up, colour, aesthethic, and sensory experiences it is so f** great to see somebody living it so much! Plus, I personally love your taste in colours and how personal your style and application techniques are. Lastly, my favourite videos of yours are those in which you build "a story" and apply it. Be it an eyeshadow palette or like here, the thought process behind a look. I really really enjoy watching how you develop interesting concepts into life, for example when you did a dried rose palette. I would love to see more of the Hannah that finds something interesting out there like idk, "Guys I went to a book shop, there was a new collection of classics with flowery and dusty pastel coloured covers, and I needed that in my eyes so here we are" haha
I love this idea!
I have the lightest shade of the Dior concealer and it's barely light enough for me to use as a concealer. Your skin appears (at least on camera) to be a touch lighter than my pasty pale self, so I don't think you would be happy with it.
I really wanted to try Ilia and I thought the cheek and lip palette would be a great first product; I'm returning it as soon as I can get back to Sephora. There's almost no pigment in any of the shades and it feels pretty much like rose-scented Vaseline. I won't even use it as lip balm.
I’d be super interested to hear you compare the Kett foundation product to Sneaky Balm!
Also I’ve really been enjoying you recent editing with the voice over, close up application footage as well as the cut-out product image overlays. Your hard work is showing and we are out here enjoying the heck out of it!
The product image overlay on the screen is awesome 👏🏻
Watching your videos has changed the way I think about makeup. I appreciate the extensive thoughtfulness you put into your content. I would enjoy hearing a more in depth review of how you spot conceal.
Just recently found your channel and am loving it! I plan to start a no-buy year on May 16. I’m nervous but excited.
Video suggestion: emotion vs function, like when you were discussing the lipstick balm. Like how to manage the “shiny, I want it” response and take a step back and realize that either , yes, it’s a good buy, or no, this is why I shouldn’t get it.
Point in the first: Plant game is on point. Point in the second: I adore these videos. I actually started doing the same thing when I’m having the unreasonable urge to buy more makeup (considering how much I already own). Bravo.
What a lovely look! I ripped this eyeshadow look off today, since I have the Flowerpunk palette...I would have never put those two colors together and I just love it so much! LOVE the idea of 10 looks with the same eyeshadow base!!!
Love when you use your other older eye makeup 😊
Beautiful look!
Your approach to makeup has really helped me get out of the cut crease rut, and to play with my single shadows. You really are an inspiration.
And wow! She comes in at the end. The woman in red! Drop dead gorgeous. Truly stunning Hannah. More red for you I say!
It took me 20 minutes to understand the title of your video and now I can’t stop chuckling 😂
This Nars palette really got me too!! It has everything I really like, which of course means I already have almost all of these colors. Really appreciate these sorts of videos because it helps me tone down those passionate “omg, I love it, I need it” feelings and remind myself of things I’ve already bought so I can prevent myself from having a bunch of duplicates, which I really don’t want.
Hey Hannah! I’m 47 years old and I had never figured out how to use eye makeup on my hooded eyes until watching your videos. I absolutely watch your techniques and try them out on myself nearly everyday day now. I had a few palettes just sitting around unused and now I’ve learned from you how to play with them! It’s very exciting! I would love to see a video on the differences between applying makeup to hooded eyes versus “regular” eyes. Thank you, Hannah!
There are some comparable colors to the Elf cream color product in the Salt New York creme tint pros. They're sensitive/reactive skin friendly too. :)
I am a HUGE Hautemess Tom fan, and I'm so thrilled to see them mentioned here! Not only is their content valuable and entertaining, but they're an incredible person. Adore you both!
Aww yay, I just subbed to Hautemess Tom the other day after watching that video!! It was so good 💜💜💜
Love these videos! Would love to see some "tutorials" with the custom palettes you make, maybe 3 lewks one palette? would love to see some kind follow up video even if its showing some pictures and showing swatches with the shadows that you used together.
that makeup look is 🔥
It's always amazing to me how relative color appearance is: at the beginning of the video, I would've called your eye makeup purple and green, but in hindsight, it's only the association with your red top that shifted the burgundy toward purple (when with the black robe, it was distinctly reddish). I love the look you ended up with, and it's really inspired me to try out some kind of unusual/comfort-zone-pushing color pairing in my own makeup play-time! (Especially with how soft & dreamy yours ended up looking, despite how far the component colors were from that vibe - at least in my mental imagining of them!)
I would also love to see more up-close makeup applications. I really appreciate your more artist-like approach to playing with color & light & texture that sometimes flies in the face of other 'makeup rules' I've heard, but never fails to result in something I find quite visually striking and beautiful!
Thank you, thank you, thank you, for your shop your stash videos. I wish more people would do this. I don’t want more makeup than I have. I live in a small place, I don’t have space for more than I have now. I enjoy watching UA-cam videos on makeup but most of them are infomercials for new products. I like the tutorials for mature women but honestly most of even the tutorials are encouraging purchasing something new. I need to find ways to get the most from what I have.
"That's the eeeeennnnnnd" 👏 - very cute hehe
I was just looking at your wall and thinking: the “unpainted” wall looks a bit like a pale sage green by comparison with the dead salmon square 🤔. A really pale sage green with all the greenery would look amazing! 😘
This eye look is beautiful 😍 The teal shadow provides such a pretty pop of color while still being subtle. I also love the lip and eye combo.
Oh my sweet stars this eye look might be my favorite of yours?! It brings out colors in your eyes that I didn't know were there! Adore your content, thank you for creating for us
I wanted to say thank you again for continuing to inspire a spirit of appreciating one’s collection of beautiful things and not just running out to by a new thing. Was really battling that lately. 💕💕
You are in fact the only youtuber whose makeup looks I regularly am inspired to recreate. The way you work with colour, are not afraid of muddying eyeshadows up by mixing them, the whole "old gum" blush thing... part of it is that our faces are similar enough that what works for you will often work for me, but also just your artistic mind is * chef's kiss *. I love, love, love the elf lip and cheek palette I bought thanks to you, it has saved me so many other purchases because I keep wanting to use only it. I also went for the rose inc concealer on your recommendation, and the colour is really spot on but sadly, I have trouble working with the thick, pigmented formula. If I try to blend it out it doesn't make an even layer but clings to dry patches cakily while slipping away on more oily areas. It also didn't mix well with more luminizing products like the Lisa Eldrige Highlighter. Am I doing something wrong? So far it's only working as a spot concealer for me.
I LOVE YOUR EYESHADOW!!!!!
The joy I felt after you appeared on camera with the eye look, talked a bit about it, and then started to roll the footage of you applying it 😄🌸 I was both delighted and relieved that you had recorded it!
Omg I watch Hautness Tom!
This was so much fun to watch!
But... Since you asked, I would LOVE to see your makeup playtime process from up close. It inspires me a lot when you do strange editorial looks ❤️
I looove this style of video from you, Hannah! To experience what you were doing in this video, I got to my vanity and it was completely a mess! Can't find the excitement with that! :;( I've been too busy to manage my collection clean and organised, but messy makeups never bring me a joy. So instead of pretending to shop at sephora, I'm going to clean and organise my vanity. Thank you for a great motivation! I'm looking forward to discovering my treasures among them!
I watched Tom’s video after you posted it on your feed and I found it so inspiring too!
I loved waking up to this video...window open, birds chirping, good strong coffee, and you got me excited to shop my stash this morning. Thank you 🖤
This eye look is GORGEOUS! I love how the colors are so harmonious with the background tones too. The teal shimmer! The plants! The chair! Dead Salmon! Deep burgundy! Ugh I’m living for all of these colors 💓
The nars unrated summer palette was very underwhelming for me… I got it and it was so meh. No sparkle, nothing truly special about the shimmers… mattes were average. I wish I hadn’t gotten it. 😕 I have the new Patrick Ta palette and THAT is so special to me. Every shade is unique and I was so impressed. I should be more content with what I already have. This was my lesson. 😩
good to know!! thank you!
This is the 1st time I've heard this. Everyone I've seen review it raves about it. Thanks for letting us know!
@@christyfielding7498 I bought into the hype! It was my first nars palette but really not a standout for me.
You're such an inspiration 💛
The burgundy eye and the orange lip CAME TO LIFE with the addition of the cherry red sweater. That tight but slightly discordant analogous color scheme is one of my favorites, and then the pivot of the complimentary blue-green shimmer??? Chef’s kiss.
LOVE THESE TYPES OF VIDEOS!!
I think you've convinced me to try the Kett foundation. We're a pretty similar skin tone, which is really freaking awesome for me. Pasty olive is so hard to color match!
Likewise! The refillable palette is such a win for sustainable makeup use, and I just found out that you can customize your own palette with colour corrector, crème blush, foundation, and highlight from the range…could be a full face in a palette situation
@dw I put together a palette of Kett cream products and I can't stop using it. Definitely recommend for anyone who loves cream products! The Kett products are also not really emollient, which makes them really long wearing on me.
@@YaddaYaddaYana this will be my first real go with cream products! I haven't been convinced that other brands have produced light enough shades in the right tone.
I (Ashley) really love watching your videos. I am excited to see your green redness canceling video. I don't watch very many beauty creators but I love your take on things. You describe your thinking process so well. I really respect that ability in people. as i always have a hard time articulating my thoughts. Even in this comment. lol
anyway, thank you for being you!
What a gorgeous eye look!! I, too, am one of the people often inspired by your techniques! Your sense of style speaks to me, but the words you give them are always my favorite part! I'm excited to check out Tom's channel too, thank you!
Love the finished look!! I was screenshotting the stages as I’m still learning how to build eyeshadow looks myself (I used to always avoid eyeshadow specifically because of my dark circles and deepset eyes). As another pale olive undertone with brown hair, hooded, green eyes - I follow all of your makeup picks and applications with great interest! Tutorials, yes, please! :)
Nah nah nah, I retract all my statements regarding sulking room pink; dead salmon looked a LOT paler when up against sulking room pink, and way closer to your skin tone. Dead salmon makes YOU the focal point, and I think that looks freaking AWESOME!! I think sulking room pink looks great as an accent wall, like how you were planning to use it in your office, but when seeing dead salmon in practice, I do think it’s a lot more friendly for filming-and it’s just more chill, in general :) I love how the background is coming along!!
I found Tom’s channel from that video, and am loving their content! Thanks for sharing it!
I bought the elf active lip and cheek because of your recommendation and I absolutely love it! I use it almost every time I wear makeup and hearing that it's discontinued is such a bummer. It's one of the few cream formulas that work well with my skin
I love the little “that’s the end”- too cute!
I'd love some more technique demonstrations. I recently went back to one of your videos about blush draping :)
At the risk of sounding insane, I think about your makeup application and techniques pretty much every time I do my own makeup. I won't bore you with specifics but I am endlessly fascinated by the ways you view makeup and use it. I've learned a lot from you! Both conceptually and technically. I especially think about how a whiiiile ago (could be wrong but I'm pretty sure it was during your no buy year) you once talked about giving up on the idea of precision and perfection on a daily basis. I used to get so annoyed at myself because I couldn't do makeup the way youtubers did and when I heard you say that I really had a moment of self reflection (lol) and started using my makeup very differently and allowed myself to be smudgy and messy.
Oh! Also, I'd love to see a video where you mix more Salt NY colors, I loved the last one! Unexpected color combinations (like this video, too!) always intrigue and inspire me
You have a way of bringing dimension to your face with blush instead of bronzer and/or contour. I really don’t like the way bronzer and contour look on me, so I love the type of look you create-your cheeks pop in a subtle, natural looking way. So I would love some detailed demonstrations of how you achieve that 💜💜💜
It's so nice to see you get excited :)
A video of yours that really changed how I thought about putting together a face of makeup was "How I'd do my makeup for an elegant dinner." I learned so much from listening to you talk through your decisions and watching the technique you chose. I would love more videos like that for different situations! I've started being more intentional about the asthetic and practical beauty choices I make based on the occasion and would love to hear more about your process.
I would just looovve a calm relaxing video with close up of you applying makeup, and just talking about it all, not the technique, or the formulas, but rather the colour theory, the clay and paint like fun, mixing the colors with micellar water to turn magically into liners, getting to know a few shades that much better
I love seeing you apply makeup! I’ve heard lots of people on UA-cam say that tutorials don’t get views, but I love them :)
Your hair looks amazing, and great video!
Unpopular opinion: UA-camrs have to stop apologizing for showing and having products they love but people can't get anymore! I feel joy and excitement from the videos because of the individual not because of the products they use. I think is wonderful you love something you already have. In fact, that's what the video is for (if I've understood correctly), to hopefully show people spending is not always necessary, that we can always try with the things we already have (apart from your own personal goal, or course).
So, please, stop apologizing for feeling yourself and enjoying what you own. (And I apologize if this ever sound rude, it was not the intention).
🙂❤️
You are a big makeup inspiration for me too! 💕
thank you so much for these style of videos- it is helping me figure out how to shop my stash instead of spending more money! also, do not worry about mentioning things you have that are not available, to me, it is more about the process you are going through to find something I already have instead of wanting the new
Such a gorgeous eye look!! It brings out both the greens and reds of your eyes and looks stunning with your hair! One for the books 😍
I really love this series! It’s a great practical application of everything you model. I would love to see more examples of how you use color/color theory within makeup. Sometimes I get in a real rut about color choices in my own makeup 😅
HANNAH!!! I’m so glad you could have the experience of reremembering that we are out here, alive, and really seeing you and watching you and loving you and learning from you! We are HERE FOR IT 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Omg! Did you know that Tom watches your channel? Gosh, I love that so much for you. Also, the color of that face product really is sooo good for you. Damn.
This is such a great look!
Yes! I would love to see you putting on make up. I love when you play around with looks.
You have inspired me to a low buy year. I did get the Salt NY sneaky balm which I love! And the Rose inc concealer 10|10 …highly recommend! Thank you HLP!
Answering your question of what we'd like to see: I *love* your overhead duping the vibes palette building videos (it's how I found your channel too). They are so satisfying and really insightful in how you approach them. However what I'd love to see more is the built palette getting used and seeing it in action, since your makeup application process is my other favourite thing, as you have a (on youtube) quite unique but approchable process.
Anyway, love your content, it's so chill and inspiring :)
Its been a tough weekend and a HLP video is all I need❤️
Yes please, more like this. I love that you take us into your headspace and share your thoughts and emotions.
I happen to love the Dior concealer, not everyone's does..but the color...and it's thin do it doesn't settle in lines, so for me, worth any splurge!
You actually sparked my sincere love of makeup. I bought my first proper eye brush set and bought my first two higher end (for me, its Huda, but first not in the drugstore bought) palletes this year. I have also hooded eyes, I love similar colours, I believe we are close in undertone too(still testing that). It may be sounding strange, but you are the most "look like me" makup person I run into and I never expected the difference it will make to my relationship with makeup. And on top of it you are delight to watch. So thank you :)
Hannah. What an inspiring video. Im going to shop MY stash. My daughter gave me a Nars single from last Christmas which is perfect to play with. I loved your eye look btw...
Yay Dead Salmon! Funny that Sephora and Ulta underwhelm me now. I walk around and leave usually with nothing at all. Strange to my brain. I used to love shopping.
Me too. I go in hoping there's something new and spectacular, like a jd glow unexpected. I swatch and peruse, realize the stuff I have is better, leave a little bummed. Then I come home, put on my fanciest, glitteriest makeup, and I feel happy that I didn't buy anything
@@cherrybearylemondrop exactly so
Me too!
My makeup style is or should I say was completely opposite to yours until I began consistently watching your content. Since then I've began trying to mimic your application techniques as well as product preferences and have adjusted them to me. Completely changing how I do my makeup. I mean I still do my full beat, rainbow, glittery cut crease style sometimes but now I dabble in HLP glowy, grungy, messy on purpose style.
