Turtles Forever are overrated & ranked TOO high. Its more of an anti-1987 Turtles-series propaganda-film & a pro-2003 Turtles-series propaganda-film than a way of celebrating the TMNT-franchise.
The First Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was a masterpiece. Raphael being secluded from the other Turtles, choosing the path of a loner, acting out and the struggles with his relationship with Leonardo. Raphael in the first film was one of the most relatable characters out of any film I have ever seen. Master Splinter and his wisdom, willingness to suffer to protect the Turtles, bringing the confused kid back to the light teaching him the difference between discipline and false bravado and promises. That campfire scene makes me cry every time. Each character and their specific traits that we all can relate to as a teenager were on full display in that film. One of the greatest films I have ever seen and still holds up today.
Totally agree, the original 1990 TMNT movie is truly an epic masterpiece, I don't care how the parents say it's too dark and violent for kids but children are still watching the movie.
TMNT 1990 is still the GOAT to this day, That film legitimately holds up Without Nostalgia Goggles. It has a Great story, Great Atmosphere, Great Soundtrack, Great Suits, Great Stunts. Immaculate.
The first live action movie, hands down for me. Hearing Raph yell "DAAAAAAMN" when he lost his sai was like hearing my childhood grow up right before me. I was in the theater and it blew my mind. Seeing the brothers watch over him as he healed? Priceless. It elevated them for me.
It maybe nostalgia, but I loved the first movie. It handled the dark themes rather well. As a kid I loved the action, as an adult I loved the characterization of the turtles. You can see the emotions from each brother on how they handle the sense of loss of a loved one.
I loved Mutant Mayhem for its animation style, voice acting and action scenes. I really loved the fact that Into the Spider-Verse influenced the animation style for the movie.
Dave Green had a lot more passion directing OUT OF THE SHADOWS than Jonathan Liebesman with the 2014 movie, who was just doing what he was paid to do, nothing more I hope COYOTE VS ACME can show how talented Dave Green truly is
As a life long TMNT fan who got into the franchise through the 2003 show, Turtles Forever will always be my favourite TMNT film. Not only was it exciting and emotionally engaging as a fan of the show, but with how it celebrated the 25th anniversary of TMNT was something I loved. And having recently become a fan of Rise of the TMNT, the film was just so damn awesome. It was like if TMNT was an anime. And of course, the 1990 film is so good. So much better than some give it credit for. Heck, I cried when I last watched it with that fireplace scene. I've yet to see Batman vs TMNT and Mutant Mayhem, but I'm definitely looking forward to whenever I do.
Here's my list 10) TMNT III 9) TMNT (2014) 8) TMNT: Out of the Shadows 7) ROTTMNT: Movie 6) TMNT (2007) 5) TMNT II: Secret of the Ooze 4) TMNT: Turtles Forever 3) TMNT Vs Batman 2) TMNT: Mutants Mayhem 1) TMNT (1990)
Well said, I've always been an big fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise and I love every single movies featuring our favorite turtles in a half shell.
Honestly mutant mayhem was a surprising B+ turtle movie. Certain things like the their need to have Leo’s love arc. It’s genuinely funny and adults can enjoy as much as kids.
My ranking 1. Ninja turtles 1990 2. Rise 3. Batman vs 4. Secret of the ooze 5. TMNT 6. Out of the shadows 7. Mutant Mayhem 8. Ninja turtles 2014 9. Ninja turtles 3 I haven't watched Turtles Forever.
The villain in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem is okay but overall great for voice actor Ice Cube. I can’t wait who’s going to voice the Shredder when they make a sequel
The first movie will always be my favorite. It handled everything perfectly. The darkness, the story, the characters (Splinter was always a rat, and not formerly Hamato Yoshi), the fight scenes. Especially the last fight against Shredder. I loved the whole thing as a kid and I will always love it. I remember not being as ecstatic when I saw the second movie. Some things just felt a bit off. I also half expected Krang, Bebop and Rocksteady to be in the movie, but instead of them we got Tokka and Rahzar in their place, whom have since been added to the roster of mutant enemies to the turtles. The third movie was released at the time when I was pretty much turtled out. When I first saw it, my expectations were pretty low, and rightfully so. Shredder and the Foot Clan were gone, so where do the turtles go from there? Back in time to feudal Japan. I just couldn't accept the look of the turtles in that movie, and the fact there weren't any other mutants for the turtles to fight, or Krang, and no more Foot being led by someone else. I also still couldn't accept Paige Turco as April O'Neal. It will always be Judith Hoag for me. As for the 2007 movie, I regret not seeing it because i heard it was pretty good. The two Michael Bay movies, ehh, they weren't the worst movies I've seen. I think I'll pass on Rise and Mutant Mayhem.
The 1990 TMNT is the best TMNT film and they haven’t been able to make one come close to OG. Film makers today keep making films about the turtles wanting to be humans and people don’t want to watch a film about the turtles wanting to be regular humans. People want to see the turtles be who they are and love who they are and that is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles that kick butt enjoy pizza and have these awesome adventures or story’s.
I never could get into Rise of the TMNT series (I grew up watching the 2012 reboot series). But I did give the movie a try and I did actually enjoy it.
I'm surprised Mutant Mayhem was number 2. It looked terrible in the trailers. Between how goofy they acted and their kid voices, I'm surprised it even made the list. I prefer the serious Turtles from 2012. I'm still watching the 2003 series.
I’m a longtime fan of both the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Batman. So Batman vs Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is my favorite entry on this list. I hope WB and Nickelodeon reach a new deal to do a follow-up crossover movie and have the Joker-Shredder as the main villain.
I think we were all in love with April from the first ninja turtles movie Michelangelo. 😊 Judith Hoag is so beautiful. And still looks very pretty after 30 years.❤
I remember when i was a kid in the 90's, i LOVED the TMNT tv show and the first movie. Now in 2023, my 5 year old son, plays Shredder's Revenge and the Cowabunga Collection with me, and we watched Mutant Mayhem, and he is a huge TMNT fan 🐢🐢🐢🐢
I've seen all the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies, except for the Rise 1 (also, I keep forgetting it exists), so I have 2 different ranking systems... Top 7 Theatrically Released TMNT Movies... -#7: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III -#6: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014) -#5: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Out of the Shadows (I added in the 2 since it's a sequel & also to not confuse it with the unrelated PlayStation 3 & Xbox 360 game of the same name) -#4: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem -#3: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2007) -#2: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze -#1: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) Top 9 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movies Overall -#9: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III -#8: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014) -#7: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Out of the Shadows -#6: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem -#5: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles Forever -#4: Batman vs Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles -#3: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2007) -#2: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze -#1: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) Just out of curiosity... I'm surprised 'Mutant Mayhem' was so high. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't a BAD film, but when it basically excluded Shredder from their origins and made Splinter pre-mutation just a normal rat with no significant background (even in the 2014 film he had a connection to the Turtles), it felt like it diverged from canon a lot.
Not just that, The fact also that they decided to make him unwise and a coward who learned Ninjutsu on TV and made him gay out of nowhere is just so sad...
Just spitballing here, but maybe letting the guy who gave us "Sausage Party" get within a New York mile of this franchise, mightn't have been the smartest idea?
@@Dredagoat30 And yet why is it Leo had to be next turtle to fall with April? Usually it's always just either Mikey or Donnie, Mostly Donnie since Mikey just sometimes has crush moments until he just treats April as an actual friend while Donnie always had interesting chemistry with April and i don't get why is it that Leo falls for April when he falls for no one other than Karai or that character in 1987 that inspired to make Karai's character.
The ROTTMNT Movie, Mutant Mayhem, and Batman vs TMNT are my top favorite Ninja Turtle movies, but I still hope they make a sequel movie to the Batman one.
Look as an advid TMNT enjoyer I can respect everyones opinions and choices when making this list of TMNT movies, however after I feel this list is wrong imo. That being said here is my personal top 10 TMNT movies: 1. ROTTMNT the movie- (To me 1 of the best animated TMNT movies of all time, with a solid writing, great comedy and amazing anime style action is what I always want an anime version of the TMNT turtles is like. I know after watching the 2018 ROTTMNT series before and going into this, I knew this was gonna be incredible and I was right. A personal favorite out of all the movies here that I listed) 2. 2023 TMNT mutant mayhem- (I was a bit sceptic at first in what direction Seth Green was going for this film and honestly he pull it off quite well, with an phenominal voice cast and a unique animation style that rivals the Spiderverse animation movies I still enjoy this a lot that I will imagine) 3. 1990 TMNT movie- (It's nolstagia and still 1 of the best TMNT movie from the 90's, nuff said) 4. Batman vs TMNT- (Probably the best crossover ever with the TMNT where they team up with Batman and his family against Ra's Al Ghul & even Joker. What's more was it was a gritty version of the TMNT where there was people getting killed/hurt. Tho I will say some of the animation does comes out a bit off sometimes to me personally but I still think this was an amazing film) 5. Turtles forever- (I was kinda deciding on bumping it down to 6th place but I genuinely like this movie for the crossover of different turtles from the past & present as well as other characters. The only gripe I had was how 1995 turtles were portrayed here that made them obnoxiously bad, luckily the 2014 TMNT series rectify that having the turtles be more competent and in the same footing as the 2014 turtles.) 6. Micheal Bay 2014 TMNT- (At first I didn't like how the turtles look like as much as everyone but after watching them in action I kinda came around it especially the Shredder who's different in this narrative but still pose an threat against turtles & Splinter) 7. 1991 TMNT secret of the ooze- (A great classic with funny dialouge & writing. And by far Jim Henson's best work on the TMNT models making having great expressions. The only major downside was the fact they don't have their signature weapons for each of the turtles except for Donnie and the final battle against Shredder was a bit weak overall) 8. 2016 TMNT out of the shadows- (The cgi and fight scenes were a top notch and seeing Rocksteady,Bebop & Krang in live action look well, but sadly has some poor writing and Shredder being not menacing like in the previous movie) 9. 2007 TMNT- (It's still a good movie but rather a forgettable villian(s), not much action & comedy, and being a more eccentric Leo & Raph movie) 10. 1993 TMNT III- (Memorable for being the worst TMNT movie of all time)
Hate to be off topic but I think there needs to be a list called Top 20 Actors/Actresses Played Villains for The First Time. Example, Ice Cube in TMNT: Mutant Mayhem and Kevin Bacon in X-Men: First Class
I kow many will not agree with me but my two favorite tmnt movies are both TMNT (2007) and TMNT Out of the Shadows. Ithought they were both awesome and i agree that TMNT III and TMNT 2014 are the worst in the franchise!
I am a top Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle critic and specialist. And this ranking is complete garbage. The original movies (2) and (3), which were censored for kids, were still better than the majority of the ones that were listed. Not to mention, that the #2 movie, Secret of the Ooze, had a much better quality and better story line than the original movie, making Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles : Secret of the Ooze #1 on any list, followed by the original TMNT movie, then Mayhem, then the 3rd original movie.
It's always good to see someone else's point of view. My ranking is very different from this one for the movies. But that's the great thing about this fandom. We are all drawn to different things. But I do agree 1990 TMNT is the BEST movie.
Here's my rank: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem (2023): Very awesome! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990): Really good. Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2019): Good TMNT (2007): Very something. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze (1991): Quite something. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III (1993): Decent. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014): Decent. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows (2016): Decent. Turtles Forever (2009): Bits and pieces, I think. Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie (2022): Never seen it because Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2012) was the last good TMNT show in my opinion.
I’m sry but mutant mayhem was bad on all 3 of plot, character design and animation I got about 30min in to the movie and that with me fast forwarding through some of the scenes that shows how bad it was.
I remember being 6 years old going to the movies with my family to see it and it was amazing i will never forget that day watching my favorite heroes kicking some shell and we loved the video games had them all and had almost all the toys, had shirts slippers with the turtle head on the front and i wore those always when i was in the house😄

2024 will be the 40th anniversary of the franchise.

Tmnt of 1990 is all time classic
TMNT 1990 will always be my childhood favourite.
Best of Best ❤
No kidding
Oh Bullcrap! The newest one should be number 1. It was better than all those other cheesy adaptations. The 1990 one looks like garbage!
Immaculate.
👍
2007 TMNT was raw nostalgia.
The 1990 original is still the best cause it had the serious tone we like but was also fun
It basically added the elements of the 1987 cartoon
For me the best TMNT movie is turtles forever😊
The first live action movie, hands down for me. Hearing Raph yell "DAAAAAAMN" when he lost his sai was like hearing my childhood grow up right before me. I was in the theater and it blew my mind. Seeing the brothers watch over him as he healed? Priceless. It elevated them for me.

Secret of the Ooz deserves a way better ranking end of story
Yep
In my Opinion Secret of the Ooz is Nr1
Indeed! I skipped that section because I did not want to hear their reason for them ranking it so low.
I thought so too
TMNT Secret of the Ooz should've been top 3. I can believe the ass clown who made this video ranked it so low.
"We are the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. We strike hard and fade away into the night."
I unironically love TMNT (2007) lol. Its not great but I still love it for what it is
Always loved the 2007 TMNT movie because it finally gave us a Leo vs Raph fight
The 1990 film was a timeless classic but Mutant Mayhem was critically acclaimed brought old and new fans unite.
Multiverse ❤
I loved Mutant Mayhem for its animation style, voice acting and action scenes. I really loved the fact that Into the Spider-Verse influenced the animation style for the movie.
Dave Green had a lot more passion directing OUT OF THE SHADOWS than Jonathan Liebesman with the 2014 movie, who was just doing what he was paid to do, nothing more

Fun facts TMNT 2007 is actually the 4th sequel to the 1990s TMNT movies
5:46 now that was excellent.
The cast, story plot, and emotion.
I think I would've ranked TMNT II: Secret of the Ooze higher! I always like part 2 since I was a kid. But 1990 TMNT is still the best one.
Yea was suprised so low but haven't seen the new ones
It was hard to finish this list once I saw this gem rated so low... Watch Mojo taking a L on this one.
Secret of the Ooze is definitely #1 by serious TMNT fans across the board.
The original TNMT movie still holds up today
As a life long TMNT fan who got into the franchise through the 2003 show, Turtles Forever will always be my favourite TMNT film. Not only was it exciting and emotionally engaging as a fan of the show, but with how it celebrated the 25th anniversary of TMNT was something I loved.
And having recently become a fan of Rise of the TMNT, the film was just so damn awesome. It was like if TMNT was an anime.

I've yet to see Batman vs TMNT and Mutant Mayhem, but I'm definitely looking forward to whenever I do.
@lukebaxter3252 almost every fight in the ROTTMNT movie and the show are very much like an anime.
2007 TMNT has the best tone! Nothing has ever topped the Leo vs Raph scene to this day
My favorites are Secret of the Ooze, TMNT (2007), Out of the Shadows, Batman vs. TMNT, Rise of the TMNT: The Movie, and Mutant Mayhem
Top 20 Best Episodes of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! 1987! 2003! 2012!

That's a fun ride, too!@@anniebanzon1471

5) TMNT II: Secret of the Ooze
4) TMNT: Turtles Forever

2) TMNT: Mutants Mayhem
1) TMNT (1990)
I like your list better. Secret of the ooze was too low on their list
Never rank again👋🏻
TMNT (1990) will probably always be #1 fav.
"If the original isn't #1 we riot" is what what I thought coming into this list. Good show WM.
Nothing holds a candle to the original. It successfully blended elements from the comics and the cartoon and still holds up today.
TMNT (2007)
As longtime TMNT fans, we 💚 it!
Good work, WatchMojo…
The TMNT franchise will be turning 40 next year.
🙂
Well said, I've always been an big fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise and I love every single movies featuring our favorite turtles in a half shell.
It actually turned 40 this year TMNT was first invented 1983
The first TMNT movie was actually the first DVD I owned. Still a classic even today.
One of the first movies I ever watched
9:52 the story plot, cast, and animation was the GOAT!!!
The plot was meh
Honestly mutant mayhem was a surprising B+ turtle movie. Certain things like the their need to have Leo’s love arc. It’s genuinely funny and adults can enjoy as much as kids.
Top 10 worst things that the Shredder has ever done
I started my TMNT fanship 8 months ago. I started with the Bayverse movies and 2012 series, and they are amazing. BOOYAHKASAH!!😄💙❤️💜🧡
Can you guys do the same thing with the TMNT TV shows?
My ranking
1. Ninja turtles 1990
2. Rise
3. Batman vs
4. Secret of the ooze
5. TMNT
6. Out of the shadows
7. Mutant Mayhem
8. Ninja turtles 2014
9. Ninja turtles 3
I haven't watched Turtles Forever.
If 1990 isn’t #1 and mutant mayhem 10 or last this list is INVALID
One is right, one is wrong
The very first movie is the one I watched the most. And I'm glad it's the number one on this list.
WatchMojo, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has a huge evolution through the years. Not just the movies but also the TV Animated Shows
I wish the 2007 TMNT got the trilogy it was intended to become. But I do love how the series is going now
The fact that the 2012 one is the only series to not get a movie is DISGRACEFUL!
Dude, I love your style of how you talk through the whole video
The villain in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem is okay but overall great for voice actor Ice Cube. I can’t wait who’s going to voice the Shredder when they make a sequel
Holy crap. I didn't think there was any chance they would put number 1 at the top. GG.
Great list
8:57 the rizz, drip, and story was wild yo
The first movie will always be my favorite. It handled everything perfectly.
The darkness, the story, the characters (Splinter was always a rat, and not formerly Hamato Yoshi), the fight scenes. Especially the last fight against Shredder. I loved the whole thing as a kid and I will always love it.

4:58 that was good but shame it didn’t get its sequel

He understands CGI like none other

The first live action movies music is so damn nostalgic 😢

I know it’s not the best film but “The Secret Of The Ooze” is my all time favorite!
They should consider making an animated crossover movie between the Ninja Turtles and the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
I was hoping that Mutant Mayhem would top this list because it is the best reviewed standalone theatrical Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie to date.

2:07 yeah that fight scene was good
This rank is pretty perfect
I agree. What if they do top 10 dumbest or worst decisions in TMNT?
1:58 What the hell was Will Arnet doing in this movie.
Look as an advid TMNT enjoyer I can respect everyones opinions and choices when making this list of TMNT movies, however after I feel this list is wrong imo. That being said here is my personal top 10 TMNT movies:
1. A personal favorite out of all the movies here that I listed)
2. 2023 TMNT mutant mayhem- (I was a bit sceptic at first in what direction Seth Green was going for this film and honestly he pull it off quite well, with an phenominal voice cast and a unique animation style that rivals the Spiderverse animation movies I still enjoy this a lot that I will imagine)
3. 1990 TMNT movie- (It's nolstagia and still 1 of the best TMNT movie from the 90's, nuff said)
4. Batman vs TMNT- (Probably the best crossover ever with the TMNT where they team up with Batman and his family against Ra's Al Ghul & even Joker. What's more was it was a gritty version of the TMNT where there was people getting killed/hurt. Tho I will say some of the animation does comes out a bit off sometimes to me personally but I still think this was an amazing film)
5. Turtles forever- (I was kinda deciding on bumping it down to 6th place but I genuinely like this movie for the crossover of different turtles from the past & present as well as other characters. The only gripe I had was how 1995 turtles were portrayed here that made them obnoxiously bad, luckily the 2014 TMNT series rectify that having the turtles be more competent and in the same footing as the 2014 turtles.)
6. Micheal Bay 2014 TMNT- (At first I didn't like how the turtles look like as much as everyone but after watching them in action I kinda came around it especially the Shredder who's different in this narrative but still pose an threat against turtles & Splinter)
7. 1991 TMNT secret of the ooze- (A great classic with funny dialouge & writing. And by far Jim Henson's best work on the TMNT models making having great expressions. The only major downside was the fact they don't have their signature weapons for each of the turtles except for Donnie and the final battle against Shredder was a bit weak overall)
8. 2016 TMNT out of the shadows- (The cgi and fight scenes were a top notch and seeing Rocksteady,Bebop & Krang in live action look well, but sadly has some poor writing and Shredder being not menacing like in the previous movie)
9. 2007 TMNT- (It's still a good movie but rather a forgettable villian(s), not much action & comedy, and being a more eccentric Leo & Raph movie)
10. 1993 TMNT III- (Memorable for being the worst TMNT movie of all time)
The only way this list could make sense is if you reverse it (But keep Number 1 the same).
Long live the heroes in a half shell!!!
Hate to be off topic but I think there needs to be a list called Top 20 Actors/Actresses Played Villains for The First Time.
Example, Ice Cube in TMNT: Mutant Mayhem and Kevin Bacon in X-Men: First Class
9:32 this was diggity diggity dope movie yo
Glad to see Rise of the TMNT get some appreciation
Bay-Turtles didn't skip a gym day LOL
Good job here! List is very reasonable I’d have turtles forever over mutant mayhem and secret of the ooze higher but otherwise spot on!
TMNT is underrated
Here's my rank:
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem (2023): Very awesome!
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990): Really good.
Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2019): Good
TMNT (2007): Very something.
Pretty accurate list. Top 3 are perfect and even I think Secret of the Ooz is overrated. Parents ruined that movie and it’s too friendly for me
They really put the new weird animated shit higher on the list is wack
Best TMNT films 2 me:
🌟Mutant Mayhem 🥷
🌟Batman vs TMNT 🦇
🌟TMNT 1990 🥲
Thank you 💙
Secret of the Ooze has absolutely no business being that low on the list.
I’m sry but mutant mayhem was bad on all 3 of plot, character design and animation I got about 30min in to the movie and that with me fast forwarding through some of the scenes that shows how bad it was.
It was a disaster
1:16 live remake wasn’t any better.
"Do you like,...penicillin on your pizza?" Sad trumpet sounds. Everytime I see or hear the words pizza or penicillin.
2023 doesn’t deserve the 2nd place . 2009 one deserves the 2nd place and 2007 deserves the 3rd place
We ranked TMNT 1990 as a perfect 10! We will be reactions to the rest of the trilogy here later this month!
2:29 the sequel was sorta good
I remember being 6 years old going to the movies with my family to see it and it was amazing i will never forget that day watching my favorite heroes kicking some shell and we loved the video games had them all and had almost all the toys, had shirts slippers with the turtle head on the front and i wore those always when i was in the house😄
My top 3 is
1st The Original TMNT movie
2nd Batman vs TMNT
3rd Rise of the TMNT movie
