This is kinda sad to hear because I think all the actors who played the Turtles in the 2014 and 2016 TMNT movies did a great job despite how badly they were treated. It's so funny how Megan Fox and Will Arnett were treated so much better when their characters were really bland and forgettable.

Absolutely love Alan as an actor. He's got integrity, passion and drive. I've loved every role he's played that I've seen so far and I hope he gets the recognition he deserves. As someone else mentioned, Reacher is amazing and a good test of his acting prowess. He is very entertaining to watch and that's the point.

As someone who's trying to get into acting and writing and stuff, this is a very helpful insight as to what kind of behavior can be expected from certain companies and directors and whatnot.

The more time goes on the more we realize how incredible and special the first ninja turtles movie by Jim Henson was. A true masterpiece. The sacrifices those actors made. The genius of the writing and special effects. Staying true to the comic. Absolutely incredible and truly magical and special.

Some of us have known that and maintained that knowledge since seeing it in the theater in 1990. That said, the original movie was also plagued with production woes, but it happened to have a director who wanted to be as true to the source material as possible with commercial pressures, and of course the incredible creature effects of the Jim Henson studios. They captured lightning in a bottle and made the 2nd best comic book movie of all time.
Around 2:30 he talks about not being allowed to interview. When the move came out I thought to myself, why are there ONLY interviews with Megan and Will? I wanted to hear from guys and taking on the role of the turtles! Bc it’s supposed to be about the turtles... ugh 😑

Confessions Of A Movie Freak it’s okay. It has a lot of flaws but if you can look past them it’s pretty enjoyable. He’s a great edition to the show probably one of the best written on the show. Just be ready to be harassed by the blue tinted light in each scene.
Seeing this many years after seeing the first two TMNT movies makes me feel sorry for Alan and anyone else that was treated this way. It really showed me that some studios are only in it for the money and don't actually care about the projects or the fans.

When I was younger, school was horrible for me I’d get bullied not just by students but by teachers, I’m autistic and they treated me like a monster. When this came out, I finally found my people, my friends, my heroes, my second family. I know the ninja turtles aren’t real, but you guys brought them to life and saved me. First off your wrong in everything you wrote for starters . Pete was the original actor selected to do the VO of Leonardo until Johnny Knoxville was Hired to go re-record Plozek's line however Pete did do the motion capture for Leonardo for TMNT and did the entire VO in Out of The Shadows.
God I loved these movies as a kid. Raph will always be my favorite but after hearing his side of the story it’s sad how they treated him and the rest of the crew.. It's such a shame that he didn't like working on those movies at all. Those were my favorite movies towards all high school and I loved his performance the best. It was especially painful hearing that he tried so hard not to be in the second one, it's the one I like the most because it was more focused on the turtles than it was on April.
We didn't say it's good, we say it's better than the first one. Years later yeah, it's not the best quality wise, but they were still comfort movies of my teen years.

I've been rooting for Alan to play He-Man in a live-action movie for years now. Hearing these stories, I'd totally understand if starring in another big-budget action movie based on an 80's cartoon/toyline wouldn't be all that appealing for him.

First dub the original actor and give him his own voice back in the sequel? With Splinter they dubbed the character with the same voice actor but the motion actor changed between films. Absolutely love Alan as an actor. He's got integrity, passion and drive. I've loved every role he's played that I've seen so far and I hope he gets the recognition he deserves. As someone else mentioned, Reacher is amazing and a good test of his acting prowess. He is very entertaining to watch and that's the point.
If you haven't seen TITANS it's a bit slow to start but it does get better eventually, he does great in that show

It wasn't just Michael Bay (or probably not at all). It was probably all of the other producers involved with both films (Form, Fuller, Walker, and Mednick).
As someone who's trying to get into acting and writing and stuff, this is a very helpful insight as to what kind of behavior can be expected from certain companies and directors and whatnot.
When entering this industry, you need to mind your surroundings.
Make no mistake about it. That's in every industry.
It's just more public in this specific case.

The story sucked, the plot ripped off spiderman, and most of the actors.. Fox especially.. were bad. And the Casey Jones in this was not Casey Jones we loved in the 90s film. Seems like he valued himself more than they did simple as that. Notice how he hesitated when they asked if everyone else had the same experience. Then he went on to back track and say Will and Megan got better treatment cuz they had "real writers" and yada yada. No, they had better agents. And those things he is complaining about get negotiated in contracts. Of course the studio is going to try to keep costs as low as possible. Those perks usually come out of the actors pay, cuz they usually have a full entourage they pay for and that will be stipulated in the contract. So he needs to he mad at his agent. He screwed himself.

If you haven't seen Blue Mountain State, you have to, he's hilarious in it. Even if you don't like sports or football, the show isn't even about that it's about all the partying and hilarity. It's kind of like Community meets Always Sunny with a sprinkle of Jackass.

The more time goes on the more we realize how incredible and special the first ninja turtles movie by Jim Henson was. A true masterpiece. The sacrifices those actors made. The genius of the writing and special effects. Staying true to the comic. Absolutely incredible and truly magical and special.

Some of us have known that and maintained that knowledge since seeing it in the theater in 1990. That said, the original movie was also plagued with production woes, but it happened to have a director who wanted to be as true to the source material as possible with commercial pressures, and of course the incredible creature effects of the Jim Henson studios. They captured lightning in a bottle and made the 2nd best comic book movie of all time.

The first time I heard about Alan as a child was through his role as Raphael, but that was because I was curious about who played the Turtles and chose to google it. I didn’t see him, or any of the other Turtle actors, for that matter, in ads for the movies. They all deserved more recognition.

Confessions Of A Movie Freak it’s okay. It has a lot of flaws but if you can look past them it’s pretty enjoyable. He’s a great edition to the show probably one of the best written on the show. Just be ready to be harassed by the blue tinted light in each scene.

Seeing this many years after seeing the first two TMNT movies makes me feel sorry for Alan and anyone else that was treated this way. It really showed me that some studios are only in it for the money and don't actually care about the projects or the fans.
You should go back and watch the 90s films. They aren't as flashy but those are more grounded and with good fight choreography and heart.

Those terrible terrible bastards. None of these sweet men deserved this, I wish I could have helped them some way, even though I was only nine and they have no idea I exist. But if any of them, for some crazy reason see this, I’m so so so sorry you had to experience this abuse. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is a HUGE part of my life and honestly might have saved me from doing something rash. When I was younger, school was horrible for me I’d get bullied not just by students but by teachers, I’m autistic and they treated me like a monster. When this came out, I finally found my people, my friends, my heroes, my second family. I know the ninja turtles aren’t real, but you guys brought them to life and saved me. I know this probably isn’t what you want to hear after all the bullshit these scumbags put you through, but you guys saved my life and I can’t be more grateful to you. Thank you, I love you guys.

I feel sorry for Alan Ritchson who portrayed Raph and the actors portrayed the other turtle brothers(Leo, Donnie & Mikey), they all deserve better.
I loved him in TMNT (that’s when I first found out about him officially) and I was so hyped when I found out he was going to be in Titans. I’m so upset with the producers of TMNT. What he went through is ridiculous and it is not professional at all. I’m glad he is thriving in his career, he deserves it.

First off your wrong in everything you wrote for starters . Pete was the original actor selected to do the VO of Leonardo until Johnny Knoxville was Hired to go re-record Plozek's line however Pete did do the motion capture for Leonardo for TMNT and did the entire VO in Out of The Shadows.

God I loved these movies as a kid. Raph will always be my favorite but after hearing his side of the story it’s sad how they treated him and the rest of the crew.. I love Alan more as Hawk from Titans and even if Titans isn’t the best show, inherently, it’s one of my favorite shows and even tho I didn’t like how Hawk died I though that was a better story arc then both TMNT movies combined. Alan is a great actor and aside from Reacher I don’t like how Hollywood treats him. He deserves better…😕
Those kind of experiences inadvertently make you a better person, he as a producer treats people he wishes he was treated. So he took a negative experience and turned it into a positive one… awesome!!

It's such a shame that he didn't like working on those movies at all. Those were my favorite movies towards all high school and I loved his performance the best. It was especially painful hearing that he tried so hard not to be in the second one, it's the one I like the most because it was more focused on the turtles than it was on April.

We didn't say it's good, we say it's better than the first one. Years later yeah, it's not the best quality wise, but they were still comfort movies of my teen years.
This video makes me feel so sorry for Alan and for the rest of the cast that played the turtles, they deserve much better. So glad Alan is currently doing so well and becoming the big name he makes for himself
I actually knew it was him the whole time. I’m a die-hard Turtles fan and I like him in BMS. He was my favorite actor out of all the turtles. I also was super excited the second one had him and Stephen Amell

So glad that someone is finally honest. This is the same garbage that happens to people no matter what the job - promises made, that never materialize. Poor working conditions. It's refreshing to hear someone call them out on their abuse. It certainly can't get better if everybody remains silent. Where there is money, there is exploitation.
I've been rooting for Alan to play He-Man in a live-action movie for years now. Hearing these stories, I'd totally understand if starring in another big-budget action movie based on an 80's cartoon/toyline wouldn't be all that appealing for him.

I feel even worse for Johnny Knoxville who wasn't even asked to come back for the second one to dub Leonardo again. I mean not really but what was the thought process behind that? First dub the original actor and give him his own voice back in the sequel? With Splinter they dubbed the character with the same voice actor but the motion actor changed between films. This production was a mess.

Alan is a great comedic actor and he definitely has enough leading man chops to carry a lead role easily. Sadly, his and the other Turtle actors' experiences on the two movies are not uncommon for actors that are still getting established.
When such a big commitment is taken, and something like that happens and it might hold you way back in your carreer, you're allowed to fking complain about it.
Been watching Alan since his hilarious blue mountain state Thad role and happy to see him find success in Reacher. Can't wait to see him in Fast X!
