Just bought the Frsky X9 lite S with hall gimbals for 100€. I added a XJT for D8 for 20€, total was 120€ including shipping. Because the warehouse is in Europe no customs problems.

Yeah I went with x9 lite s at first. And people told me I needed xjt for d8 tinyhawk. But you don't. I use frysky d8 and d16 on my x9 lite s..
But I just picked up jumper t18 pro v2 for cheap

HAL gimbals are essential if you plan to rapidly advance in a sim by putting on a ton of sim miles. Both could probably stand better sim support to act as a controller even when not turned on, but plugged into USB. It's a pain to unplug the USB, turn on the radio, plug back in the USB, chose Joystick mode from the pop up menu... but that's what you have to do every time you want to use it in a sim.
The Radiomaster could stand to be thinner. Gimbal lowering plates lower it some, but then if you use umbrella stick ends, you end up with interference problems against the plastic gimbal well hole on the bottom inside corner which you can only solve by running the sticks far out. I just barely could make that arrangement work for me, but it took me some getting use to, to long sticks and wide area travel.
Touch screen will probably not be supported too well and is irrelevant, as is R9 support, or internal/external antenna. As more crippled an internal antenna would be, I'm inclined to side in it's favor as I also run with Crossfire all the way, and the only thing I'd use the internal multimodule for is to connect to another radio standing next to me in Trainer mode. It's a pity Blacksheep doesn't license Crossfire or whatever to just be included inside these radios. Folding handle is pretty much irrelevant, unless maybe you travel a lot and have to pack it in a suitcase. The stock steel handle on the TX16s actually is very solid and nice, I hated replacing it with the colored CNC one, as the stock one is probably more resilent and looks pretty darn good.
You'll end up breaking switches every now and then and need to replace them... they are a lot more delicate than they would seem to present themselves to be. Keep acetone away from the radio as I found out the hard way, it will melt the plastic.
Not much else to say, except if you can squeeze 27000's in there instead of 18650's, either with a 3rd party battery pack or custom slimmed down tray you can get off ebay, go for it.

I got the T18 because it was in stock and added crosfire and swapped the internal wiring to make the external antanna 2.4 and added a 2.4 antanna

@Phil Elliott I use a crossfire module. But the internal radio was just as good as my frisky radios with the external antennas on it

I ended up getting the radiomaster t16s and I kinda wish I bought a drone instead cause there was nothing wrong with my Taranis qx7. Do you have any idea when the t16s touch screen update will be? Thanks for the comparison video.

They seem nice. I have the T8SG and I can't really find out how to set things up even though I have a couple Hubsan and Syma programmed. How do these stack up to the Taranis QX7?

    • @HalfChrome
      @HalfChrome  4 роки тому +1

I prefer them but there is no reason really to upgrade if you have the qx7

Can you advise me if either of these controllers is suitable for my "Utronlx Eagle" drone? If so, which one is best. The literature for the "Utronix Eagle Pro" drone states it has a FPV Control, however I am not certain for "Utronlx Eagle" drone. Bear in mind that the range is stated at a daunting 6.2 miles.
    Youe assistance is greatly appreciated.

A UA-camr - Gal Carem did range test with both radios and both went out to 4KM. The internal antenna on Jumper is not really an issue for range. Which screen is easier to read out doors?

Set your radio to to d8 mode plug in your tinyhawk go to the CLI tab and type bind_rx enter and then hit bind on your remote and your set if it doesn't work do it again in d16 multiprotocol

you missed a major point: radiomaster starter has NO GIMBAL + NO TOUCH Display, but colour
it's not about what you get cause you paid it.
from the money saved you can buy evetything .
My radiomaster came with a battery csse.
original r9m module costs 20€ here on ebay new. I can buy that t9m and a handle for 5€ if I want.
The Radiomaster works with 18650 lipo and even bigger (diameter) Lipo ones .
I had bought them all and sold the jumper + radiomaster hall gimbal.
The cheapest one works good and maybe in 1-2 years I will upgrade
things are changing so fast: frsky x-9lite was my first 2 years ago, then frsky x9d and from there to jumper t16 to jumper t18 and radiomaster t16s
