    Awesome Jason. What I like about your, I guess style, is that when you start, it doesn't look like it's coming out the way you might imagined it at a certain point. But then you keep going and viola, you have a painting that looks great. What it shows, is that just keep going and you will have a better painting than you think. Plus, if you don't like something right then, just keep going and change it later. You are very inspiring. Missouri, USA

    You are fun to watch. Relaxing and funny when you giggle at yourself. I really enjoy watching you. I paint with acrylics but you're kind of making me want to try oils. Just a bit nervous about the whole layering fat and whatever properly. :)

    Great job Jason, actually this looks more like a mountain than the Bob Ross style mountains. I wonder though if it would not been easier with a canvas.

    When I have paint that is not thick for knife work I put some on a napkin let a lot of that oil soak up then stick in freezer a while in some Saran Wrap works great for me

    Jason, do you ever think about doing still life, working from life and all? That would be interesting.

      +Barbara Sartin I would not use any kind of solvent, (like turps or mineral spirits), to clean brushes. Just wipe them off with a paper towel, then use a bar of white soap and warm water. Work the bristles back and forth across the soap bar, this loads the bristles with the soap. Then work the bristles in the palm of your hand, working up a good lather. Rinse with warm water, and then repeat this process a few times until the soapy lather is pure white. That is how you know the oil paint has been removed. Make sure you rinse out all the soap at the end, and then shape the bristles with your fingers, before placing the brush standing up in a container, (like a coffee can or vase, etc). Hope this helps. :)

    Hi Jason you can defo see that the impasto works . I wanted to ask if using impasto with these paints roughly how long would it take for the painting to dry on same size board as your using and il say thanks in advance for your reply and another great lesson 👍

    Jason ... My question has nothing to so with this particular painting. my question is when is your next 3 color challenge? I've only seen the first 4 you did. I really enjoy those and well as all your painting.
    thank you

      +‫حسين شيخ نذير ‬‎ Use oil paints. :) If you are a beginner, buy the cheaper brands, like "Winton Oil Colors". They are very good paints at a very reasonable price. I have used Winton Oils for many years and have been very satisfied. Hope this helps. :)

    Jason, do you realize that you provide a great ASMR content (Look it up if you don't know what I'm talking about)!
    Just add ASMR to the titles of your videos and I'm pretty sure that your views would increase dramatically! I appreciate your opinion if you decide to keep it pure art channel, I'm just letting you know that there is a huge community for ASMR on UA-cam.
    BTW Great drawing as usual :)

    • @JasonBowen
      @JasonBowen  8 років тому

      Yeah I have been told before. It's great that the ASMR community are watching my videos too but I don't want to target them specifically as its primarily about teaching painting the ASMR is more of a consequence. Would be good to get more views though. Maybe I will get discovered as a hidden ASMRist haha :) Glad you liked my video

    • @ZetsubouNoNnoitra
      @ZetsubouNoNnoitra 8 років тому

      Jason Bowen Well the funny thing is that I first discovered ASMR through comments on your video.
      I was trying to pick a thing or two about painting (which I suck at :P) but I got this tingly sensation which I used to get when I watch my friend draw, weirdly enough when I scrolled down I read about ASMR in the comments.
      It's been like 6 month since that happened and ASMR really helped me sleep in my nervous nights including your videos :)
      So I just wanted you to at least know about it!
      Anyway, I think you can add ASMR as a hidden tag where people will get you if they searched for ASMR even if you don't have it in the title.
      Please, keep up the awesome work!
